Backyard Burger

Came here not expecting much, but I left very happy! First the one downside: The fries are alright, I tried the waffle fries and found them too greasy and I think the skin on the fries could be better. But I do like that they offer waffle, seasoned, and regular fries, it’s a great variety. I’ve also tried the cookies and cream milkshake, it’s definitely tasty! I LOVE the veggie burger here it is really delicious and they really allow you to customize your burger toppings. So glad I live nearby, this is definitely a place I will come to when I need a quick lunch/​dinner and I can grab that delicious $ 5 veggie burger!

Onion Rings as good as many of the better FastFood though I’m only giving these 3 stars compared to the Best I have eaten everywhere at all price ranges
Waffle Fries no No NO ! ! ! NOT Good! Opposite of Good! Seasoned were the Worst!!! Vinegar and Salt, way too salty! All these Fried Sides are GREASY! I’m not sure how you can make it that Greasy and still taste BAD!
Other Fries? They all Suuuuuck!

Better than McDonald’s. Burgers are good. Onion rings are very good. Look to try chicken next time. Bacon cheddar burger has good bacon

It’s ok. Burgers kind of salty… Suggest they stick to the seasonings that do not have salt to bring out flavor instead.

Pretty solid place for a quick lunch or dinner. Both my fiancé and I were SUPER stuffed after each eating a burger and side.
Wild Turkey Burger: turkey burger wasn’t anything special. It tasted like the frozen kind I buy from Harris Teeter sometimes. Toppings added the perfect crunch (tomato, red onion, pickles). Creole mayo + the tangy mustard was a tasty combo – especially with the Pepper Jack cheese.
Chipotle Burger: fave item consumed. Loved the Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce + the chipotle mayo. The bacon, veggies, and crispy onion straws sealed the mouthgasm deal.
Fried pickles: thick, crunchy, with a light breading. Loved dunking them into the ranch sauce. Don’t eat too much – they are salty!
Onion rings: superb texture due to the Panko breadcrumbs. Loved how big these buggers were!
When we rolled up to the order window, they had our order completely off. I had to repeat everything I got and it took them 5 minutes to get our food to us. I guess someone was new? We made sure to check our bag before we rolled off, in case there was further confusion.
Our order was just under $ 18 (no drinks). Definitely will be back when we don’t feel like cooking.

Yummy burgers and everything else that you would expect to find at such a place… Drive through service is a bit slow though but other than that BYB is a local favorite for some grab-​n-​go.

I usually go and have a few with me. Because I try to eat lighter I get the kids meal. Since going there the family has been all over the meal as well. It’s plenty for me and a very good value. Best tasting burger I’ve found. I do get the onion rings instead of fries, but it’s still a better deal than most things on the menu. I like this place. We go a lot.

Well my experience here was just ok. I was expecting more out of the food, especially if I’m paying almost $ 10 for a meal. The service was ok. The guy in the red shirt was more interested in checking out the teenage high school girls on the other side of the counter. The scary part is that he looked to be about 30. I ordered the bacon cheddar burger and like I said it was ok. If I were in the area again I would most likely look for something else that gives me a little more value for $ 10.
If your ever in Greensboro, look up The Burger Spot… one of the best burgers I’ve had in North Carolina!

Love their burgers and chicken sandwiches! I started eating here at their location in Boone and this one is just as good. When I want to really indulge I will get a shake. They are soo good. The burgers are way better than a typical fast food place. I usually get the mushroom Swiss. Kids eat for free on certain nights as well. Love it!

I guess this is supposed to be a specialty fast food burger place. I’ve never been to one before but thought I’d check this place out. The inside is just like a fast food restaurant and it’s a order at the register deal. The actual dining area here was kinda dingy but not what I would call unkempt. It probably would fair a little better had the manager not been bouncing between working and visiting with his (I’m guessing) girlfriend at one of the tables… Anyways, the black jack burger was good but a little on the small side. The curly fries were good and probably better than the burger to be honest. I doubt I’ll stop by here again unless I need a burger and it’s a life or death situation but I wouldn’t steer any of my fellow burger eaters away either. TL: DR: Ok value, maybe shop around

This is a HAMBURGER place, not a FISH restaurant ! Their hamburgers are very good and service also, very good. Order what restaurants specialize in, and you’ll be rewarded.

A local favorite of ours. They get the burgers out quickly and get the order right more often than other restaurants. My son loves their bacon cheddar burger and it comes with some large slices of bacon. The burger is thick, juicy and flavorful.

Simply the best fast food burgers around.
The shakes rock, too. If you want a salad or hot dog they can hook you up, but the bacon cheddar backyard burger is where it’s at.

Not sure why so many have reviewed this place for what they do not have, but their burgers are great. I really enjoyed that my burger was not dried out like many places. It was just a thick juicy beefy burger. Not over seasoned but just right this place really can throw down that amazing backyard flavor.
Next I enjoyed my peanut butter milkshake which made me reminisce of a Reece peanut butter cup sundae yummmm!
Let’s not forget those yummy well seasoned hot to order fries step aside fast food world this place is only going to climb.

Blah bluck yuck. This place well there are no words to describe how awful it is. The burgers are not good let’s tear this building down and actually put some great places in this shopping center.

First time ever coming here. I’m not impressed. I wanted a fried chicken sandwich. The only option they had was chicken tenders in a sandwich that was ok. The food was ok… the worst part of the experience was the cashier guy. Most places when you walk in they great you. This dude just stared at me like I had entered and wasn’t welcome. They I explained that this was my first time. He took no pleasure in explaining how things worked. He failed to tell me anything. He was horrible and should be put ok the back working by himself. Thanks to him, my experience wasn’t the best.

First visit tonight on a lazy Sunday… Ordered the Chicken Combo platter for my daughter and my husband and I each tried the Mushroom & Swiss Angus Burger. Pretty good overall. The chicken breading was crunchy, not too salty, and had a peppery flavor that was surprising. The burgers were juicy, also not too salty, and the best bite was the combo of lettuce, tomato and mayo on the burger with mushroom and Swiss. In comparison to Five Guys (and my husband ate at both their first and second stores in Northern Virginia, the stores on which they built their reputation), this burger was BETTER. Nice touch also that the fries were batter-​dipped, yummy! Primary takeaway: not too salty, which is unusual and lets the food speak for itself. We will be back.

Excellent customer service with a smile, the food was great, had the turkey burger and fries, yum :-) the atmosphere is your normal fast food but clean, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I am new to the area and have been venturing out to try new things especially a good burger.

I suspected an upset stomach after a visit here and still went back for more about a month later — and the same thing happened again.
I’m not particularly sensitive and I’ve eaten all over the world, but I won’t do that to my gut a third time. The lights were flashing, the barrier was down, but the train was long gone coming.
I will not be back, (I really liked the burgers and the seasoned fries too).
Also, the speed humps in the shopping area that it’s in seem to be made for offroaders and minivans, if you have anything low/​sports it’s going to scrape.

Great Burgers and Fries. Certainly a step-​up from Burger King and McDonalds. Very clean, nice staff.
