If you like authentic Chinese food, this is the place to be. Food was very delicious, hit the right taste buds!

Came here to celebrate closing out the old lunar year with the fam although I’ve been here numerous times. As I mentioned before in my review on Grand Chinatown, this place is pretty much an equal exchange with that one. Here are the pluses and minuses: + They do the usual authentic Cantonese dishes pretty well. Some tried and true ones are the ginger and scallion twin lobsters, geoduck clams on vermicelli, seafood nest with XO sauce, giant steamed oysters with garlic and scallions, fried oysters with XO sauce, any steamed fish, and as of last night the fish stomach with chives. Yeah, I know. That last one sounds weird and foreign but I promise, it tastes so good! + Service is very attentive and better than the average Chinese restaurant. — Caution: Don’t order too many dishes with black bean sauce. It’s good but saltier than I would’ve preferred so one dish is perfect but multiple and you’ll be crying for some water. — No booze. Yes, you read that right. It’s dry here. Just giving you the heads up as any good samaritan would. That’s all folks!

Where can one go to get decent dinner at midnight around quincy? This place opened still 1am, the service was fast, large portions, and the price was reasonable. The food might be more of the style of traditional Cantonese in America and tends to be a bit greasy.

Basic Chinese. Parking kinda sucks, small seating area in restaurant. Customer service was great! No beer, no wine… But yummy food! The regular real Chinese food!

Good authentic Chinese food. I’m a bit surprised by the negative Unilocal reviews here. I’ve eaten here a few times with my family. My Chinese parents and I believe this is the better Chinese seafood restaurant in Quincy. I don’t know the English translation of the dishes but we usually get the clams with the clear noodles, steamed tilipia and stir fried pea shoots. Never had an issue with those dishes however, the Americanized dishes like sweet and sour chicken aren’t very good. If you want fresh Chinese seafood then this is your place. Service is good for a Chinese restaurant. Your teapot gets filled quickly when you keep the lid open. Parking could be tough during the busy times.

Terrible foods! Pricy!!! We ordered the salted and pepper fish filet, it’s taste like frozen fish. The foods here are expensive and taste bad. The only good things about this restaurant is that they open late when no one else is stay open.

Great authentic Chinese food! Love that I don’t have to go into the city to eat here. Their food is made with quality. I find that the dishes are less oily compared to the ones in Boston. Good service. They also give free dessert after! Also hard to find parking as its on a small street.

This restaurant really caters to Chinese people only and does not treat others well, which is usually a sign of a good, authentic restaurant, like several in Boston“s Chinatown. Nonetheless, the food here is meh. Way below average in taste and selection. Conveniently located at the corner of Newport Avenue and Brook Street, there is street parking only on Brook Street, which is tough except late at night, being within spitting distance of the Wollaston T station. Ate here once and most decidedly will not return.

This is a small local Chinese restaurant. Meaning, seats are limited so order to go or have some patient. Service is like any Asian restaurants I’ve been to. They’re not up in your face every 2 minutes(thank goodness!) but they’re not rude either where they will ignore you. If it’s hectic, use your brain. They try to be there for every table but if you need their attention, speak up. Don’t hide in a turtle shell, the servers won’t bite if you ask for something. Their food are the most authentic I have tried in the area and I enjoy coming here for family-style dined in. Food are a bit pricier compare to other Chinese restaurants nearby but also taste much better. I’ve never had an issue with the food being too salty, unless it’s meant to taste salty. If you dined in, you will end your meal with a complimentary dessert soup of coconut, taro, and tapioca. Parking is limited as it is street parking only but if you’re taking public transportation, it is right behind Wollaston T-station(red line, the door that leads to the streets instead of the big parking lot). They’re not open during lunch hours but they’re open late until 1AM so you have an option to either eat fast food or family style food for those late night hunger attacks. If you want Americanized Chinese food, this is not your ideal Chinese restaurant.

Not many things to say about this establishment besides it reminds me of every other traditional Chinese food restaurant in Quincy. There is only a handful of Chinese restaurants in the area but when special occasions come up like holidays, it can be hard to make a reservation at any of these places. I’ve only dined in here a couple of times and got family style to share amongst the group of friends and family. Food ranged from garlic pea pod stems to salt and pretty calamari. I’ve never had any complaints about here besides maybe wait times. The taste of traditional Chinese food all taste the same to me besides subtle a differences of how much sodium and msg is used in each entrée. Majority of the time I would order late night take out since they’re open til 1am daily and is a huge plus when you don’t want to eat fast food. Location is a huge plus, located directly across the street from the back exit of Wollaston train station.

Terrible experience waiters are rude, waited 2 hours to be seated and we only had 5 people. Food was ok, not good, too much salt. There are 2 big tables open and they didn’t give it to us instead they let people that just came cut in front of us. I highly not recommend this restaurant for anyone vecause consumers should not have tp wait over 2 hours for seat for 5 and there was people cutting because they have more people.

It’s not even good Chinese food! The service is terrible. Asians just loves to eye you at all times! Malay restaurants to Chinese to Vietnamese that just loves to look at your bill while you are paying.

This place is turning into a joke. Two times in the last 3 day, gives our table away and then writes the wrong time for our reservation and then tells us… kids and elders, to wait over ½ hr. I dont care if you are busy and you want to just do business, if you dont keep your reservations or keep track of things, no one will go back. East ocean, chinatown, no need to go to this place.

I’m not totally in love with this place, but it’s certainly better than various Chinese restaurants in Quincy. I came here under the previous ownership and it was dreadful. The food was cold, the service novice, and the atmosphere rowdy not conducive to a good dining experience. So I never came back for years, until I discovered the change in ownership. Even though I do take-out here at times, this isn’t the most ideal for take-out. There aren’t any rice plates(save for fried rice, which is acceptable here) or lunch specials. Heck, they’re not even open for lunch. Their appetizers are dreadful, especially the chicken wings. Get said wings from Big Boss just 100 feet away. However, the noodle dishes here are solid. The beef chow fun has good wok flavor to it, along with plenty of beef. The Singapore chow mai fun has curry flavor and the restaurant does not skimp on portion. The seafood pan-fried noodles is better than most places around, with a nice amount and selection of seafood(i.e. not cheap imitation crab meat). The lamb in clay pot isn’t too bad, with a decent amount of lamb in there. The sauteed pea-pod stems are good, with it having a nice amount of garlic and not too much residual water. The sauteed geoduck clam is quite nice and a good alternative to conch. Seafood is a strength at this restaurant. The hours here are a bit wacky(opens at 3 pm and closes late night), so this is a dinner spot.

Never Again — Rip Off :(:( I frequent at least once a week(so I consider myself a regular here) after work as I take the Red Line at Wollaston. This past Friday, I ordered from the take out menu the fried oysters appetizer which was about $ 17.00. I waited about 10 – 15 minutes. Order came out, the owner’s wife which always takes my order tells me it is $ 25.00 and I asked why and she said that the oysters went up in price and showed me the EATINMENU which had the crossed out amount of $ 25.00. I showed her the take out menu which was right on the counter and showed her the price and she states that we haven’t changed that yet. Then she goes do you still want. I go no and left. Also she’s not very business smart — if you think about it she lost out on the food and the cost for keeping the $ 25.00 when she would’ve only lost $ 8.00 in difference — so double loss to them and NO loss to me as I ordered from another place. This is the 2nd time that she’s tried to rip me off… Why don’t you take a f… ing pen and cross out the amount like you did on the eat in menu. And on top of that I’m a Regular — NOMORE…

I always love Ming’s. They are pretty much the only place for late night Chinese in the area and the food is always consistent. Call it in at JFK and it will be ready when u get to Wollaston on the red line. Contrary to another’s post, the beef brisket flat noodle is amazing!!! Who doesn’t like copious amounts of brisket and tendon? Apparently that guy. Prob bc his benchmark of good food are the crab rangoons and chow mein– laughable shortsighted knowledge of Chinese food. Other goto favs are the Singapore noodles, the salt pepper squid, pork chip or head on shrimp. Any of the chowfun or flat rice noodles you can’t miss — I like the seafood or the veggy+fried tofu; and finally the mafu tofu.

This place is open until 1AM and is a two min walk from my apartment. I wanted to like it, but I don’t think I’ll be back. The first time my meal was OK, nothing great with no major complaints(Lo main and Crab rangoons). The second time, I had the beef brisket chow foon and it was awful. The beef was mostly giant globs of fat, the noodles were super greasy and almost tasted burnt, but I ate some of it anyway and got sick to my stomach. Yuck! The Spring rolls were also OK, but its not enough to keep my coming back. Great Chow is a better bet.

This is a decent authentic Chinese restaurant. Nothing special, but a good enough place for a meal if you’re in the mood for authentic Chinese food. Someone noted that there is no such thing as a Chinese dish that would be over $ 25??? Maybe not, if you’ve only had gross Americanized Chinese food; any competent restaurant in Chinatown and elsewhere will easily have dishes that exceed that, especially since so many here specialize in seafood. Ming’s has a few dishes on the menu that were well-cooked and offered a few nice surprises(stir fried lily bulbs — give it a try if you’ve never thought you can eat them!), but this isn’t really a destination place otherwise. It’s a welcome addition for yet another Chinese option in the area, but it’s not really breaking new ground.

Yet another good authentic Chinese restaurant in the Wollaston section of Quincy(right across from the Wollaston stop on the Redline. Like most chinese places, it’s crowded, with large tables(we were the only 2 top in the place). It’s no frills and all about the food. Ironically the staff seem to have immigrated from another place down the street — so they knew us, we knew them. Good little local place. I’d go back

For Quincy, this is definitely the place to go. Great staff, food quality and portions. Love the fact they honor their reservations — actually holding the table for you — unlike other restaurants where you’ll end up waiting for 30mins even with reservations.
