We recently did business with this Total Wine location for our wedding. Initially we were enthusiastic about the wide selection, tastings, and help we received as far as number estimations based on our crowd. One of our biggest concerns was our ability to return any unopened alcohol for a refund. We were continuously assured that all alcohol could be returned as long as the cases had not been opened, so we set the date to pick up our alcohol. In the interim period, we opted to purchase a bottle of Dom Perignon for our wedding party. I was initially excited about the purchase, but that quickly dwindled when the staff member opening the locked case for me kept trying to get me to purchase something else and was treating me like I was buying a lousy bottle of champagne. After the wedding, we attempt to return our unused beer and wine. In the hassle of the wedding the receipt for the beer was misplaced; however; we had used our Total Wine account so the transaction was recorded. Even though we had been told the only thing preventing us from returning beer was an open or damaged case, we were now told without the receipt, the 5 cases could not be returned. And while it was a bit upsetting and confusing, I can understand this. The staff member handling our return called out, who I assume is a manager, to assist us. He was unapologetic, did not sympathize with our inconvenience and only told us because of the timeframe we were returning the beer(2-weeks after the ceremony) they were completely unwilling to accept the return. While I can accept their policies regarding the return, we were treated poorly through a lot of our entire Total Wine experience. Overall, I would recommend this Total Wine for its selection if you just need to get in, get something, and get out. I would not recommend this Total Wine if you are planning any type of event in which customer service would be valuable.

This is a cool place! Like a grocery store for 21 and over. I found a few of my favorite wines and they suggested a few more too based on what I liked. They had my favorite Grey Goose(Pear) as well as hundreds of others that looked great. Picked up some gluten free beer for my sister and the guy at check out walked me out and helped me load my car. Great service and selection. I will be back!

Love this place. Amazing selection for all type of beverage. Enormous selection of wine for all over the world, knowledgeable staff. Great beer options. Huge selection of draft beer, just need to bring a growler. The option for microbrews is outrageous! Just about any liquor you want they got and at the best prices around. Total Wine also has an impressive cigar selection, with a walk-in humidor.

Probably the best selection of spirits around! You’ll pay a bit higher prices; to include the ridiculous State taxes, but you can’t beat the selection!

Beautiful store, an absolute alcohol paradise. If you’re into wine, this is a place to come take a look. However, that’s not why I stopped in. My wife and I are beer aficionados and after being disappointed by BevMo in Tacoma and their utter lack of beer selection, Total Wine was much, much much better! I found exactly what I was looking for(Bayern Dragon’s Breath Dark Heff) right on the shelf and priced more aggressively than in Montana, where it comes from. While I wasn’t looking to grab any spirits, I also took a look at their ridiculously extensive section of vodka and was pleasantly surprised to see that the tags displayed the TOTAL price after Washington’s heavy hard-A taxes. That’s a nice touch because it’s shocking to get to the register and realize that $ 20 bottle is actually $ 35 after liter tax, sin tax and sales tax. We’ll be back next time it’s beer-thirty!

Ok so the 1 star rating really just applies to the growler filling department of the Puyallup Total Wine. I do really like that we now have a place in Puyallup with an extensive inventory of wine. So got a mailer saying you could get $ 2 off a growler fill, so figured I would take advantage of that. Went there last week to fill my growler for the first and last time. The long and short of it is they have installed a system for filling growlers that supposedly prevents them from pouring samples. So basically unlike any other place you would go to get your growler filled, you can’t actually taste the beer prior to purchasing a half gallon worth of it? The irony of this is that Total Wine as a company seems to understand that giving samples increases sales as they are always sampling at the store, but i guess they forgot to convey that to the guy purchasing the equipment for the growler station. In the future I’ll be sticking with the place I usually go to fill my growler(Puyallup river alehouse) as they are always happy to give you a sample so you can actually make sure you like the beer your about to buy half a gallon worth.

Ok, I’m a fan of this place now! Very clean store and I like the layout of it. This place seems to have every alcoholic beverage you want! Plus a decent selection of non-alcoholic beverages, I’m glade they came to Puyallup!

Love this place. Overwhelming choices, good prices. You’ll probably find it difficult to not find what your looking for there. Be prepared to spend some time browsing… the choices are plentiful.

Just opened and is already my favorite place for craft beers. This place has everything. Beer, wine, great whiskeys, walk in humidor. Friendly and knowledgable staff that was extremely helpful. The general manager even went out of his way to help me out and find exactly what I was looking for without even knowing the name! Top notch! I will be back!

Came here the first day it opened. Very shiny and lots of alcohol. I was ID’ed at the door, okay. Bought two local beers and was ID’ed again, go figure but then the announced over the loud speaker that they needed an age verification for me. Here comes two managers staring at me awkwardly for a few minutes to make sure I really am legal to buy the beer. Thankfully I was exhausted from work so my eyes glazed over until they handed me back my ID and I left. Well today I went back to buy some soda and a toblerone bar because that’s how I roll when I am tired and hungry. Well, no longer was I ID’ed at the door but I was ID’ed for buying SODA and a TOBLERONE. No tequila, vodka, beer, wine, gin, whiskey, rum, or fizzy bubbly for myself but two SODA’s and a TOBLERONE! Oh and I had to have my age verified by a manager once again… Yes I am 21, going on 22 in 4 and a half months but I do not need to be ID’ed for non-alocoholic bottles of sunshine and a tasty log of chocolate. There are children in the store… CHILDREN! Who I am sure stand next to their parents when they decide to buy alcohol and are not carded. But me? The girl who waddles up with a twinkle in her eye, two soda’s and a chocolate bar gets checked. Not cool.
