Not Neighborhood Friendly. When Anthem first opened they were a good place to grab a cup of coffee but not now. Now it has been transformed into an upscale drinking establishment. When I went there early evening. The sidewalk outside had tables set up, where 20 somethings were drinking, smoking, and acting obnoxious. I feel sorry for the residents above who purchased condos in the building. Anthem Coffee and Tea is located next to the senior activity center also. The tables are blocking some of the sidewalk and disabled wheelchair ramps, so crossing the street could be difficult. Shame on you Anthem Coffee and Tea. You are No Longer Neighborhood Friendly. You have lost me as a customer!

Outstanding coffee place. The crowd is younger and the place is noisy, so not great for deep conversations — but decent coffee and good prices. One caveat — parking is often a big problem downtown.

Anthem has always been great. The batistas are always in a good mood and make great coffee. The style of the place is very unique and makes for a good centerpiece of the Puyallup area

Slowest service, one gal at register carrying on conversation with one gal while the line waited. Another running around and sort of taking orders and the one making coffee getting off and no one jumping in to get drinks done. Long wait, finally got our drinks but no apologies. I have served as a barista and understand how to move people through and serve them. Cute design very hip but – This place is so unorganized and oblivious to timeframes and customer service. — – immediately response from owner very helpful and appreciates feedback. Very willing to offer better service and a gift card! Not necessary, I feel we all have bad days. Will surely visit once again!

We happened into Anthem after having a wonderful dinner at Arista nearby. Unlike the stale, corporate feel of Starbucks, this place has a wonderful energy and vibe. Upbeat music is playing, tv on a sports contest, and plenty of people gathered to study, talk and hang out. The coffee was well prepared and the staff was happy to be there. Wish there was more Anthem Coffee locations!

This place is so amazing! They’re very modern and keep things fresh; both consumable products and décor. My boyfriend is a California native and fell in love with anthem’s coffee on the first sip. It just has a unique taste. And if they mess up your drink(we’re all human), they’re more than happy to fix it for you. The people are so friendly and welcoming and toss your drinks in the air. How whimsical. Anyway, just visiting here is a treat in itself. Been visiting back when it was a Forza and will continue to come here as long as they’re here.

Funky, local coffee shop in downtown Puyallup that was filled with a nice mix of patrons: young kids, moms, retired folk, military. They have a complete write up of the favorite drinks on a chalk board, which adds a fun element to the ambience. My white mocha was delicious, and the goodies looked yummy as well. Downtown Puyallup has really spruced up, and Anthem is a nice contribution to the business mix.

Really great coffee shop. We had a meeting here and it was a really great environment. The coffee was super good. They even made a cool design on top.

What a complete sh#t show; ran out of coffee after waiting for 15 minutes to order, then waited another 15 minutes for an American, then the pitchers of milk and cream were empty. Complete incompetence.

Friendly and helpful staff. I would not call Anthem«hipster», though it does tread lightly on the border. It’s a busy place that hums with life and decent wifi. The in-house music is a louder than«normal», but it’s an energetic place. It’s not on any of my daily paths, but I try to make a point of stopping in, now and again.

Consistently kicking ass at doing coffee stuffs. Whenever I’m in this part of Puyallup, I have to stop here. The baristas are really friendly and the vibe here is wicked(buzzing chatter, plenty of tables, WiFi, mix of people). Also, they have the BEST cake pops here. A place called Wannacupcake( ) provides them. Today I grabbed a lemon one and a snickerdoodle. For my drink of choice here I usually get a split shot Americano which are always on point(great tasting espresso) Today I changed it up and got a small split shot dirty chai and it’s delicious… not too sweet, not bitter, and smooth/creamy milk. Come do coffee here!

Hands down one of the best places to spend a morning, afternoon, or evening in Puyallup. The staff is incredible, and the coffee is top notch. It’s awesome that I can stop in the morning prior to work for coffee, and 10 hours later come back and finish the day with a beer.

I don’t want to be that person that gives a place one star because I had a single bad cup of coffee. The location is really nice. Clean inside with a plenty of places to sit & plug a laptop into. Also the people working here seem nice too. I just had a really bad cup of coffee. It was bad enough that the taste is still lingering the day after Had a distinct sour taste of improperly ripened beans and was far too earthy. I don’t hate this place, it was just a bad enough cup of Joe that I feel like I need to share my experience. EDIT: I came back to Anthem after having a bad experience the first time. Just like the first time the employees were nice and it was clean. The difference this time was that the coffee was great. Honestly I think I just had bad beans, which is a problem that is intensely difficult for coffee shops to control for in all instances. Anthem went above and beyond to respond positively to my experience, so much so that I was intensely impressed with that alone. I’ve never had a business respond so well to a bad experience and I’m truly grateful for their care in the situation. I will be back to Anthem in the future and I encourage others to do so.

My 3 daughters and I always come out on Saturdays for our weekend ritual of coffee and homework and mommy daughter time. I love that when some of the baristas see us they already know that one of my daughters orders a raspberry Italian soda with whip in this Washington winter weather. They’re always so welcoming with everyone. One of the reasons why we always come back and hangout.

The coffee is nice. The tea is fine. The food is good. So why the two star rating you are asking? It’s due to the loud music always being played at this place. When I go to a coffee shop it’s usually because I want a goddamned latte, and not a concert. Look, I love music just as much as the biggest music fan out there, but not when I am in a coffee shop and trying to hold a conversation without straining to hear someone sitting two feet away from me. Truly, the volume level on the music in this place is ridiculous and annoying. It’s like they don’t know if they want to be a café or a music venue.

I’m always looking for places to do work while I’m on the road. Anthem blew me away with their friendly service, caffeine, and bountiful outlets! The Seattle area is known for Starbucks HQ… but shops like Anthem are where the real hipsters come to play. A bald bearded millenial’s paradise!

Such a cute place, very busy too! Don’t go here if you’re in a rush– but do go here if you want great coffee and service. Everyone here was so nice, it was very obvious who the owner was– as he was helping expedite everyone’s orders during he busy morning. Would certainly recommend going here. Oh and the egg and spinach breakfast sandwich was bomb! For a very good price too! It seemed to be the popular morning sandwich.

Friendly staff A bit loud on the music. Should be turned down just a smidge Hip interior, somewhat dim lighting for a dreary day The only coffee deal they offer is if you buy a $ 30 gift card you get something. My attention span is short. didnt quite hear it, but it won’t apply to me anyway since I’m a big chain gold card reward member. They do not give you a discount for bringing your own cup. I’m environmentally conscious, so I can at least feel good I’m doing justice for mother earth. With drip coffee(my personal low cal choice) you can get refills. You have to go up to the cashier to get it. They make their own pastries in house. Parking is mostly street side for 1 hour, but if you’re lucky to get an angle parking on the side where there’s construction… that’s ideal if you plan to chill for a while. They have free wifi. just ask for the password. Happy Hour is 7pm-10pm and all day Sunday $ 3.50 pints, $ 4 House Wines and food soecials. They also offer a small discount 20% on their food menu at HH. Yes.they serve beer. Like other reviews it’s unique here. They have another location off Pacific Ave in Tacoma and looking for another location to expand. I’ll be back more when summer rolls around and the Farmers Market resumes.
