The spicy chicken is awesome. This will be my new spot when in the area. The taste is a little different that most teriyaki joints but delicious. Soup was not my favorite but I don’t really care because it is all about the chicken.

Food is yummy! My favorite is the chicken phad thai. My family loves the chicken teriyaki, sweet and sour chicken, yakisoba, and gyoza. The service is friendly and efficient. They know my name and my children’s names. They always make a point to talk with you and not just give you food and send you on your way. This place is yum yum! :)

Nailbanger Here Again;Well as you can see there are mixed reviews with Modoo Teriyaki and I will play the devil advocate here as I think their Teriyaki is just Blah Blah. Never anything but very thin sliced hardly grilled meat, with sauce poured over the top. I prefer thicker pieces and grilled with the sauce during the process. Nothing but meat /sauce /rice, in a dish. very Plain Jane. They do offer other thing that I think might be a better choice. I am just not a Fan of Modo. Some people like my youngest son just rave about this place, they have their followers. You will have to decide on your own. For me and my wife we prefer Nana Wok Teriyaki. Plenty of well Lighted parking. Enjoy

Just had the basic teriyaki chicken and some gyoza. It was good, portions were good and I will definitely go back.

Tasty and fast. Just what I need when I’m on lunch. My only negative comment is that the chili paste container was sticky on the outside.

If this is the best Teriyaki in Puyallup, we need to move back to Tacoma. Our yakisoba was burnt and even though my wife said no mushrooms our noddles were full of them. I HATE mushrooms! The teriyaki chicken was ok, but the rice was clumpy! The spring rolls were your garden variety frozen ones. Not sure where all these good reviews came from? This place is horrible!

Best teriyaki I have had in town so far. There crab zee rolls are amazing, and the portions are large.

Love the food low prices. Probably the best teriyaki and kung pao chicken in that area. Food portions are huge, would definitely come here again. The place is quite popular so there might be a long wait at night and lunch hours

I often come here when I feel like having teriyaki. I always order something different every time. The food’s good and the portions are large so I always end up taking them home in to-go boxes. This place is one of the few good teriyaki places to eat in Puyallup.

We just picked it up tonight ordered 2 combos. The chicken was so dry we couldn’t even chew it, and the beef was All gristle. We spit more out then we kept in our mouth !!! This used to be our fav teriyaki place, so maybe it was a bad night. I’ll try it again and if it’s going down hill. We will have to find another place .if I’m wrong i will update this review!

Favorite teriyaki place no doubt. Great food and even better service. Usually get chicken teriyaki or general tao chicken. Both amazing. Best place for teriyaki in Puyallup/South Hill.

This is probably the best cheapest Teriyaki joint in Puyallup. I loved the char they had on their teriyaki chicken. Simply delicious. I ordered a Thai Tea as well which seemed watered down. I used to work at a Vietnamese restaurant and their Thai Tea had more flavor but really that is my only complaint. Chicken had the perfect char, not too heavy on the teriyaki sauce and the service was friendly. :D

April 15, 20154:40pm We walked in, no one was there and the woman which was in her late 40’s seemed friendly until she started taking our order. I am partially deaf in one ear and I didn’t hear what she said so I asked her to please repeat herself and she practically screamed«Oh my god I asked you three times!» I am a very sensitive person and this was too much for me, I was in shock. Never returning here again. The owners of this place need to tell the cashier/server not to be ruthless with the paying customers. Wouldn’t take my worst enemy here…

The best place for teriyaki in puyallup, hands down. We’ve been to every other teriyaki joint within 10 miles, and no one else comes close. The spicy chicken is amazing!

Bad Customer Service Story… last night I walk into Modoo Teriyaki in Puyallup and was looking forward to enjoying a meal I have always felt was pretty good. It was busy with only a few small tables available and a large table for 6. Having been there before, I know it’s always cold in there which is why I didn’t sit at the small table by the door. Instead my son and I sat at the empty table for 6(actually 2 tables pushed together). I was then approached and after confirming that it would be just the 2 of us for dinner, was asked to move to the table near the door at which point I told her why I didn’t sit there to begin with. She informed me that I was sitting in a table for 6 people, as if I didn’t already know right? I told her I would move if there is a need while I was there. She then pointed to another small table in the corner and asked if I would sit there instead at which point it just said forget it and left. No food(good or bad) is worth terrible customer service!

Lunch specials are decent. Service is slow, but they cook to order. Fine by me! Server and cook were friendly. Used to frequent another teriyaki place, but when they changed owners, it went downhill fast.

My wife and I started going to this restaurant while we were dating. We now have four kids and still continue to frequent this restaurant. The staff remembers us and greets us warmly every time we come in. The food is always great, everything from the salad and soup to the many different types of entrées we’ve ordered. We’ve moved around the area over the years and consistently will drive a great distance, past many other restaurants to come to this one. As our family has grown, I’ve had to become more cost-conscious when going out to eat. This is one of the few restaurants where we can go out without severely damaging our bank account and have food left over to take home.

I’m never disappointed when I come here. This is my third visit, & I don’t try many new things, but I tried their Thai tea today and it was amazing. Try it!

We came here for a late dinner and so glad we did! Though we ordered way more than we can possibly eat, it was still worth it and it makes great lunches for the next day. DH and I ordered Chicken Katsu, Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Yakisoba, Gyoza and Vegetable Tempura. Each meal expect gyoza and tempura comes with rice. I dug right into the vegetable tempura and it was pretty good. The broccoli was HUGE and ended up hurting the roof of my mouth! Their Gyoza WASSOGOOD! Looks like they used wonton wrapper and fried it to perfection. The outside was crunchy and the filling was seasoned just right. Chicken Katsu was dry and their sauce was alright. Chicken Teriyaki was moist and delicious. Yakisoba… I thought it was alright. Noodles were a little overcooked. DH said it tasted like«metal» which I agree it had a funky aftertaste. Also, it was a little salty! Overall, pretty good food. I’ll definitely be back for their gyoza and tempura.
