Well if you want authentic Japanese or Chinese, then this wouldnt fit into neither of the paradigm. Whether it was Chinese hot dish or Japanese sushi, there was something lacking from their ingredients choice and flavor, and the price point for dinner was just as much as restaurants in Seattle. This restaurant is strictly for locals who has no in depth knowledge in Japanese or Chinese cuisines, are closely residing around the location.

I don’t get it. I know there aren’t a lot of restaurants in the area, but to see one this bad get this many great reviews is mind boggling. Went for lunch on a Sunday. The General Tao chicken was overcooked, the chicken was tough and stringy, the dish wasn’t spicy at all and tasted solely of vinegar. My wife’s sushi was bland, the rice wasn’t done correctly, and the rolls weren’t wrapped well — they were loose and clumsy. Add it all up and we got 3 crummy rolls and some bland, stringy chicken for $ 40.

I have been here a couple of times and every time the service has been outstanding. And the food really good! With a good selection of different plates other than just sushi! Very kids’ friendly as well.

Given its location, corner of Canyon &176th St E, historically this area is not known for having good, if any, restaurants. The three new ones in this complex is a nice addition and yes they are pretty decent places to eat … which is why I’m giving four stars. Sushi & Wok offers good food, the service is friendly and fairly prompt, the restaurant is very clean, and parking is plentiful. The Chinese food here is tasty even though some of the dishes are not prepared authentically … either way too much sauce, or having a sauce when there shouldn’t be. The sushi is also fairly good, but a bit pricey. My favorite item is actually not Chinese or Japanese, but rather it’s their Korean dish, the Spicy Seafood Soup.

I can’t say how much my family and I love this place. We’ve been here a few times and each time the staff has been so welcoming to our family. I think that’s what makes this place even more special, the fact that all the workers are so sweet and inviting — from the waitresses to the sushi chefs. Eating out can be somewhat of a challenge for us with our almost 2 year old daughter so I find this trait to be very important. Being a family of six, I guess you can say we order a good amount of food. My three boys ordered the Honey Garlic Chicken, Beef fried rice, and BBQ pork yakisoba. I definitely recommend the honey garlic chicken. It has a nice sweet flavor with a hint of garlic flavor. If you’re a fan of sesame chicken(like my boys) this is a great alternative. I’m not the type to like my chicken sweet but once I got a taste of this, I was hooked =) I think the yakisoba and beef fried rice was pretty standard — good nonetheless. If you love veggies in your noodles you’ll like it cause it had a good amount of veggies in the dish. My boys gobbled up all three dishes including the scoops of white rice served with their noodles and chicken entrée. For my husband and I, we both shared the curry katsu, firecracker roll(their current special), and a few different nigiri(surf clam, yellowtail, and octopus). It was my first time getting the firecracker roll and it was pretty good. The firecracker roll is pretty much spicy scallops, avocado, and cucumber inside topped with spicy tuna on top. I thought the heat from the spicy tuna and spicy scallop was just enough. I’m a big fan of spicy tuna so any way you up it, I’ll try it. My only complaint is that I would have liked it to be more packed in on the inside since it looked like there was more on the outside than the inside. It was as if it couldnt handle the weight that was on top, if that makes any sense LOL For the curry katsu, it wasn’t as good as I remembered it. It seemed a bit overcooked IMO and not very moist on the inside. But with the curry sauce over it, it was forgiving. All in all, I would definitely give this place 2 thumbs up and highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an asian cuisine in the Puyallup/Frederickson area.

There chicken fried rice was pretty good, it actually had chunks of chicken. Tasted pretty fresh. I had sesame chicken and it was pretty good and chicken tasted fresh. Sometimes u get chicken that was old or tastes like it was boiled, but not this one. I’ll def be coming again to try their sushi.

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for an Asian place for a quick meal because we had to go to Graham unexpectantly at dinnertime. I love fresh, traditional Sushi & Sashimi, of which there is plenty to choose from. There are many contemporary rolls too. I enjoyed the spicey rainbow roll and an order of Ikura with quail eggs on top. Yummy, my favorite. The fish was very fresh. I had mackerel too. My husband really enjoyed his honey garlic chicken from the Wok menu. He doesn’t eat sushi, but is willing to go with me, so it’s nice to have this option. I noticed a nice selection of Japanese beers for those that like them. We were able to sit at the bar, which I love to do that so I can watch the chef work. We’ve already decided to go here again in the future. There is sushi bar seating and tables. The décor is nice. Service is good. The bathroom was clean too.

Decided to try this place based off the Unilocal reviews. Everything was great! You’re immediately welcomed by a sweet, smiling staff. We ordered the gyoza appetizer, honey garlic chicken from the wok menu, and the dynamite roll from the sushi menu. And their house sake… Which they poured the first round into the cups for us upon arrival. The chicken was the best I’ve had. Not over breaded and mushy like most places, but a lighter crispy breaking and great flavor. The fried rice that came with it was my husband’s favorite. The sushi was outstanding. You could really taste how fresh the fish was. Free miso soup. The owner stopped by and was very personable. She said they’ve been open for 11 months and was excited to hear we saw them on Unilocal, since she hasn’t done any advertising at all. She confirmed the fish is brought in daily and she’s proud to serve such a fresh product. I think we found our new date night spot!

This place is amazing, whether you want sushi or Chinese, the food is fresh and fabulous. The owners and staff are so attentive. I used to go to Trappers for«fresh sushi», but this sushi far exceeds trappers sushi…

I’ve eaten here about 2 or 3 times and all visits were pleasant. The place itself is nice and the staff is always welcoming. Especially the sushi chefs. I recall having the general tso chicken and thought it was good. Had a strong vinegar taste to it though and was a bit too sweet for me. I have tried 4 rolls from here so far: –The tempura California roll was ok. Although I think the tempura was undercooked which resulted in a soggy and chewy roll. Wouldn’t order again. –The Volcano Roll was good. A little heat. It has a «special sauce» that left a strong mayo taste in my mouth though. –The Red Dragon roll was great. It has some eel which I really like. Spicy tuna on top! The little crunch pieces sprinkled on top added texture to the roll and I would definitely order this again. Overall, good experience. Can be pricey if you order the special rolls. Would recommend.

I brought my son in because I was craving sushi and have been thoroughly disappointed by other places in the Puyallup area. I was happy with everything about the place. We got there early on a weekday and it was empty, but by the time we left it had filled up quite a bit. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to me totting around a toddler with me. We ordered a rainbow roll, hawaiian roll, chicken lo mein, and octopus nigiri. The rolls were a good size for the price. The lo mein was huge — we could’ve been well fed with just that. It had two scoops or rice and miso soup to accompany it which was nice. Everything tasted very fresh — fish, vegetables, rice, etc. We received our food in a very timely manner and from looking around it seems like take out service was pretty quick as well. We will definitely be back!

My hubby and I eat here at least once a week. The staff remember us and is always super friendly. They have a different special every night for only $ 10 that comes with an entrée, rice, Cali roll, and pot stickers. The sushi is fresh and expertly made. The place itself is very clean and inviting. Love it here!

It’s so hard to have willpower over my finances and diet when this AMAZING place is about three minutes away from where I live! Hahaha! I’m finally writing a review for Sushi and Wok but my idea of this place is always the same. Whenever I have come in, the staff have always greeted me with a smile and seat me and my party right away(and I have come both in the day and evening). The food is amazing and I love the freshness of their sashimi! They have SO much choices to choose from when it comes to their sushi rolls. I loved their«wok menu» as well and their appetizers are always filling(so order with caution). I believe they haven’t been opened for more than a year but they are doing well. The interior is nice and clean and enough seats to be seated at. There is also what looks to be a sushi bar people can sit at, but I have yet to personal sit there or see others there as well. Thankfully this place does to-go orders! I love this place!

We chose this place based on the reviews for sushi. It was a full house when we arrived, but our wait to be seated was short. Our entrees took a little longer than normal, but that’s to be expected anywhere on a busy night. I ordered off the sushi line, but my dinner never arrived and I had to flag a random server down to check on it 30 minutes after I ordered. The lady I had to flag down came back 10 minutes later and fed me excuses as to why my sushi roll was taking over 40 minutes. She did this while awkwardly patting me on the back. I called her out on her lie(as she changed her story 3 times) and canceled my sushi order. It then took them 10 minutes to present us with the bill. The first attempt was from our original server who turned around(after noticing we were being charged for the sushi). our substitute server then came over to share that she crossed the sushi off the tab for us(acting like she had done us a favor). I wouldn’t have been upset if they would have just been honest and let me know they had forgotten my dinner. As we walked out the door the substitute server said, «Anyway… Sorry!» That was my favorite part. I wasn’t expecting a fine dining experience, but I used to work in hospitality and I know the value in making sure every customer leaves happy. I would not say the same about either of the women I interacted with here.

I went to this restaurant for the first time because it was close to my girlfriends house. And it was open for dinner by the time I got home from my trip and was in search of a good dinner with my girl. The restaurant itself has a great ambiance and the employees were very friendly and helpful. My girlfriend had the butterfly roll and the candy cane roll, while I had the baked salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll. We also had the appetizer platter, which was food aplenty! The rolls themselves were decent sized, although the price was a tad high. I must say though that the seafood was very fresh, and I could tell from every bite I took. This is definitely not the last time I’ll be eating there! Thank you for such a good first experience. The only issue I had was that the vape parlor next door brings smoke every now and then into the restaurant. The owner is trying to prevent it from happening.

Not the most amazing prices as far as the sushi goes, but the quality is great! The service is always top notch and every employee greets you when you enter. Love it! The chinese food is awesome!!! Some of the best chinese food in the area. The«Special» on the board in the front entrance is the best deal ever! Usually an entrée, an appetizer and 4 pieces of California roll for $ 9.99. Great deal! I ALWAYSHAVE leftovers. All meals/orders come with FREE miso soup!!! Hot tea is also FREE!!!

Foods and sushi is amazing. This is by far one of the best sushi infused restaurant in Puyallup. Most restaurants in Puyallup is altered for the public and is not authentic, which can be frustrating! Recommend trying Katsu curry and Lobster popcorn roll. They don’t have kimchi on the menu but if you request it, they will have some for you.

My favorite sushi bar around! They make the best tempura California roll! Customer service is okay, they can forget sometimes, but everyone forgets. Everyone is really nice, greets you when you walk in the door and says bye to everyone who leaves and also thanks them for coming.
