Food is so good. Seriously, everything. We always make a stop here when they are at the summertime farmers market but recently found their shop on Ives. We come now multiple times a month. Burritos, tacos, and bowls are our favorite. As parents of lil ones, they always aim to please with our picky eaters. Love the music, old school rap & hip hop. Makes us 30 somethins feel young again. Always helpful staff when ordering. Others have talked about how long it takes. Hey, real people are in the kitchen making real delicious food. I’m ok to wait. It’s worth the wait and worth the trip every time.

Their bowls are too on point. Their lengua is great, carnitas is really well cooked, chicken is fantastic. I can’t find one thing I don’t like

I’m going to start with the a «What the heck?!» which may be confusing with 5 stars but… I am upset that I didn’t know about this place until I was at The Met last night. I feasted on some carnitas tacos and if I wasn’t worried about being out late and eating tacos, I would have gone back for seconds… thirds…fourths if I had enough cash on me. I will absolutely have to go to their physical residence as these are hands down the best tacos Providence has to offer(Sorry other taco places). Don’t ever leave me. Don’t ever go. Now I’m going to have to make special trips into the city for you.

OK, I was being too whiny in my last review. Tallulah’s has some of the best food in Providence, and even if it is expensive, it’s SO worth it. I keep coming back for the fresh ingredients, flavorful meat, and cheerful ambience! I feel like people usually order a burrito bowl only because they once read how many calories are in a tortilla, but the burrito bowl here($ 9 – 10) is seriously legendary! Featuring pickled radishes, queso fresco, beans, rice, guac, lettuce, cilantro, onion, and meat of choice, it’s a fiesta of flavors, and the portion is huge! I considered saving half of mine for the next day, but I think the lettuce would’ve gotten gross. If you’re not ravenous enough to hork down a giant burrito bowl, a single taco(~$ 4.50) is a good size for a heavy snack/light meal. They double up on the tortillas so it can actually be pretty filling! My favorite meats are the lengua(super tender!) and the al pastor; the carnitas(my usual standby) is too salty here. They also have two(homemade I think?) hot sauces for you to try. Although the food here already has so much flavor on its own, both the red and green sauces are fantastic, so give them a try if you’re looking for a little extra spice! Another cool thing about Tallulah’s is the atmosphere. The kitchen is bustling, the happy mariachi music is blasting, and the décor is colorful. You can’t possibly frown while you’re here, even if the food sometimes does take a bit of time to come out because they make everything to order. Overall, Providence is pretty lacking in Mexican food but Tallulah’s is more than picking up the slack!

This place is a hidden gem… SOMEOFTHEBESTNACHOS I HAVEEVERHAD!!! Everything is fresh, made right in front of you and absolutely amazing. The Carnitas was some of the BEST i have ever had… It was juicy bits of golden pork in every bite… The nachos are the way to go because you get everything in one bite and you also get the crunch you miss out on when you get the quesadillas… The black beans are EXCEPTIONAL… i ordered a side of them and thought they were some of the best i have ever had… The place is small, but the staff is amazing and seems like they enjoy what they do! They ring the bell for every dollar you leave for tip and it is kinda fun to see who tips and who doesn’t… its kinda genius! I highly recommend this place and cannot wait to get back!

I enjoy coming to this awesome place for some delicious authentic Mexican food! It’s a small place but great food! There are some places to sit inside and outside as well. I enjoy their agua fresca, quesadillas, and tacos. i recently had the fish taco and loved it! The piece of fish was cooked to perfection! We did also try the nachos but I felt they were too heavy as it was hard to get the chips with all of the toppings on them as they would break. Street parking is easy as it usually is not too busy on that road. If you love Mexican food, try this place out!

Tallulah’s is our go to for great taco take out. With choices ranging from pork to shrimp, chorizo, chicken and even tongue, there is something for every palate. The hubs and I usually get the pastor, barbacoa and a few others and share tacos and chips and salsa. The red and green homemade salsas are both delicious. And for the sweet tooth, a churro for dessert is a must! In the summer there is outside seating and agua fresca to complete the experience. Tacos are a modest size but each is full of its own unique flavors and toppings.

I walk in thinking $ 10 bucks for a burrito. As a Socal native I have a hard time paying more than $ 7 for a quality burrito. But fine, I’ll spend a lot on food if it’s worth it. Was the burrito tasty? Yes. But for something that was 75% rice/beans, I can’t justify going back. I would pay $ 5 for the same thing in LA. I get that this isn’t Socal. However, If I’m paying that much for Mexican it better be amazing, which it wasn’t. Also, what’s up with the 2 tiny salsa bottles with a pinhole opening? Takes 5 minutes to half-way fill one of those tiny salsa containers. Come on Tallulah, is your 90% margin on the food not big enough to be a little more generous with the salsa bar?

4.5 out of 5 stars. Only place I’ve had better mexican is California! This place is fresh and the real deal. A table of 4 had the carnitas burrito, a vegetable/bean burrito, braised beef tacos and chips w/guac. Carnitas burrito, probably one of the best I’ve ever had. I loved their chips, had a house made seasoning on the chip I loved. Braised beef would have been drop on the floor amazing had it not been quite so salty. Only issues was everything had a touch too much salt. My lips were burning a bit and felt swollen by the end of the meal. The only way aside from salt this place could get any better would be if they made their own tortillas the way I’ve experienced them in Cali. I will be eating here ALLTHETIME! OUTDOORSEATING! YAHY! P. S. — what’s with the hard core UNCENSORED rap/hip hop music playing? I cringed when parents came in with toddlers and the song was blaring, «slap my bitch up» type music. Sort of scratching my head there but I swear I heard the chef breakin’ it down in back — which I found hilarious but I can’t imagine the owner would want this explicit music on for all customers. At least censor it. ..

How has no one talked about the chips yet? Get them, whatever the salt is on them is just perfect. We also got food — my chicken burrito was great, her tacos were also tasty and each one was enough for two smaller ones. A small mistake with our order was handled quickly, professionally, and with a smile. Make this a definite stop on your next trip to Providence for fresh, tasty, friendly Mexican.

This cozy taqueria serves up fresh and tasty Mexican fare, which I found to be a refreshing break from my go-to burrito bowl spots on Thayer. The little shop’s bright yellow walls and festive cultural décor make it delightfully cheery, while sleek wooden furniture and modern hanging light fixtures keep it feeling fresh. The food, similar to the ambience, is a juxtaposition of hearty traditional fare and modern presentation. You order your food at the counter and can pick from several serving styles(taco, nachos, bowl, etc.) and proteins(seafood, meat, and veg). I ordered a bowl with pescado, which was quite tasty. The bowl came with greens, delicious Mexican rice, a small lump of guac, and a few chunks of fried fish. They also garnish their dishes with their signature pickled radishes, which added a really nice tangy bite to the otherwise salty palate. The fish was really delicious, flaky and crisp but not greasy. I definitely prefer it over Baja’s already yummy fried fish, but I only wish there were more of it! I also got a cup of agua fresca in their flavor of the day, mango, which was pretty good but IMO not worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed coming here. Everything is really pleasant, and I’m excited to try their other offerings. Prices are comparable to other taco places around college hill, and the food may just be better!

The tacos rely on a banging salsa, fresh cilantro, and radishes to bring these small treats to life. I got beef tongue and marinated pork(al pastor). I also got a chicken burrito. The black beans make this. Soft and tender, they border on retried texture which I love. Guacamole is standard in all burritos, not extra! Delicious rice, onions, and cilantro add zest. Now I went on a weekday at noon, so it was busy. No chance I would get one of the 14? 18? Seats. But great 90s hiphop in the radio kept me happy. Service was great. They were nice and took extra seconds for eye contact and a smile. No rushing. Open kitchen view made me envious of what I didn’t order. Fresh mango water or jarritos to drink. Great place!

I remember seeing these guys at the Saturday Hope St Farmers Market, and enjoying a taco from their stand. Glad to see more options at the new store on Ives! I’ve tried both the barbacoa and carnitas tacos and enjoyed them both, barbacoa a little more — I shared with my twin and she complained that barbacoa had some parched charred bits but I must’ve skirted those and gotten the juicy fatty bits because I didn’t think it was dry… I loved the thick sweet corn tortillas they were served in! And the delicious hot pink edged radish pickles on the side. I’m not crazy about their quesadillas only because they use the thick corn tortillas for that and I think quesadillas should be made with flour tortillas to let the filling take center stage. Just as I was leaving I saw a lady get a burrito bowl with a ton of lettuce and meat! I think she was onto something… next time I’m getting the burrito bowl with barbacoa. Maybe they will do half barbacoa and half carnitas?

I was ready to be blown away by my burrito, which I was not. It was good, but at $ 10 and located across the city from me, I don’t know how apt I’d be to go out of my way again. I got the lengua(beef tongue) as my meat choice, which I was very excited about. I’ve never had that as an option to me before and I love the fact that not only do they have beef, pork, chicken, and seafood, they have multiple preparations of each one. Anyway, the tongue was so tender and deliciously spiced. My main issue with the burrito overall was that there were so many beans in it… there wasn’t enough of the salsa/cilantro/onion throughout to give it some acidity and crunch. It was all in the bottom half of the burrito, which was a bummer because the rest of the burrito was too rich and heavy as a result. And I literally had one bite with guacamole. And the rice was undercooked. Sooo…I don’t know. I love the meat choices. Their ingredients are fresh and unique to this area. I’ve had their tacos before and those were a lot fresher-tasting with the awesome radish slices, so maybe I’d just get a few of those next time. Or maybe I just chose a rich, heavy meat option for what was already a heavy burrito. I’m not writing Tallulah’s off just yet.

Man this place is good and authentic. Little hipster spot on the east side but the tacos YUM. I’ve tried all of them and the barbacoa seems to be my favorite. Tried it in a burrito and just as premium. I like the local soda they sell, yacht club or something but that’s good as well. Try it out, you shouldn’t be disappointed unless you were expecting Taco Bell, then you should get Taco Bell

This is totally a hidden East Side gem for a quick fix. Contrary to some other reviews, I think the price is consistent for what is being offered in this type of market currently. I really enjoyed the food and the décor is pretty sweet too! Bonus points for the Yacht Club Soda in the cooler.

The menu is confusing and disorganize, so it’s a little hard to interpret. Regardless, prices are on point and everything is yummy! The flavors all tend toward the mild side, but freshness, citrus and umami predominate. The tacos need a little extra seasoning to enliven the tastes. However, the burritos and burrito bowls are perfect as they come. Avocado is abundant, too! On nice days you can sit outside. It’s very peaceful.

Eh. Why come here? It’s a glorified, hipster Chipotle. But with more onions. I had the chicken tacos with the side of potatoes. My group and I sat outside on a muggy day in the pitch darkness — they could use a bit more lighting if that’s the only seating they offer! My taco was fine — the chicken was well seasoned and the salsa was tasty, but the overwhelming scent and taste of onions ruined it a bit for me. The potatoes, though, I have to say were great. I was quite impressed. Based on the looks of others’ orders, the burritos are huge! I wouldn’t come back, but I see why it’s a simple neighborhood go-to.

Sometimes fresh ingredients and authentic spices are all it takes. I went with the basics for the first time– one carne asada and one chicken. It comes with pickled radishes and wedges of lime. Topped with a generous helping of diced onions, celery, and house red sauce. Yummm. Perfect for a quick bite. So glad to see that I have another option for tacos other than Chipotle. It does get busy during meal times though! So either be ready to wait or get there early.

Tallulah’s is a great addition to Providence’s food scene. The food is fresh, fresh, fresh! The flavors are well-thought out and tasty. They have a small menu, but really anything that you could want. They have churros! They also carry a large selection of Mexican and local soda. So why 4 stars? It is pricey for what it is — fresh, fancy Mexican take out. A burrito with meat is $ 9.25, which is more than pretty much anywhere else in Providence, including the nicest places. A churro is $ 2.75. Lower the prices and I will be here more frequently! In addition, I have tried several of their meats. A few were much too salty for me(but I don’t consume much salt) and the chicken was just plain meh and fried. I stick to the al pastor most the time.
