The food was no good– microwaved beans and bland tacos. The drinks were good but then again it’s hard to mess up margaritas. The only good thing was the location and its outdoors seating which had great views of the water.

2nd time here. 2nd time running out of something inherently Mexican. 1st time nachos then 2nd time coco lopez. Plastic cocktail glasses? The sopapillas were good and the waitstaff super friendly though.

Went here with a party of seven on a Friday night. Around eight it was dead, got right in and seated. It only took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. 30 minutes to receive our apps which consist of nachos and guac. The sour cream was melted and nachos not too warm Im sure they were sitting for awhile. Waited another 30 for our entrees, but they only brought 3. 15 minutes later they brought 3 more. Now we are only missing 1 which took another 15 – 20 minutes. Food was ok, service sucked. The mens room was dirty with a clogged toilet, as I let them know nothing was done. Around 9 they had a dj blaring hip hop music, I couldn’t even hear my own self. Really a hip hop dj at a mexican place with all his homies walking around, thought I was at club for a second. This place sucked and wont be back

Lolas is a cool spot to go to but its always empty every time I have gone. The best thing they have is the complimentary chips and salsa and even the chips need salt on them. The drinks are ok … But if you are choosing margaritias and cocktails off their menu… Forget it… Drinks are watered down or too sweet to the point you think you’re having a fruit smoothie… The food is horrible !!! I am so upset I spent money on that shitty fake mexican food. It was late and we asked if the kitchen was open, it closed but they decided to still make us our food… And what did we get ??? Shitty refried beans from the bottom of the pan, tasteless rice, and dry enchiladas… Never again will I order from here. Ps. The waiter is super nice tho

Lola’s Tequila Bar & Cantina was one of the stops during our fantastic food weekend in Providence, but there was nothing fantastic about this place. My wife’s cousin warned us about the dismal service here prior to our arrival. We just wanted a couple of drinks and appetizers after taking power naps, from attending the Ocean State Oyster Festival earlier that day, so we really didn’t take head to the warnings. We walked into Lola’s and there are roughly 6 people sitting at the bar, and a handful of dining parties. It was anything two waitresses couldn’t handle. Both waitresses walked in and out of the main dining room without even choosing to acknowledge my party sitting right in the middle of the room. Even if they were busy, one of them could have come over and said we will be you in a moment. We decided to move outside since that is where the waitresses were focusing all their attention. My friend asked one of them if we could sit outside and she stated that she was going to clear off a table for us; so we waited. That didn’t fair out much better because we still waited but, at least she acknowledge us by telling us she was going to be over in a moment… Progress!!! We ordered a round of drinks and some nachos. I ordered a peach refresher made with whiskey, peach schnapps, OJ& sour mix. This was a pretty decent drink and probably the decent part of the entire experience because the The nachos were average. They were not terrible, but man I have had better nachos at dive bars and burger joints. Providence is a city with plenty of quality food establishments, this is not one of them.

The food wasn’t bad, and the drinks were ok. The issue was our server. We watched her talk to the bar & servers who were leaving while waiting for boxes, or drinks. It was a slow night and I know there’s a line between harassing a table and being MIA, but she was blatantly not attending to us. We just wanted a quick bite, a few drinks & to leave. If we go back, it seems our best bet is the bar.

The food was less than mediocre. the waitress would take one drink order for one person of a party of 4 and walk away before the other three would get a chance to order. not one my visit this place again list. i did like that you could sit outside om a nice evening.

People arrived well after us with the same size party and got their food well before us. Manager seemed to have it out for us and made sure our food didn’t get to us promptly… took well over an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. The wait staff was great but management could learn a thing or two about treating customers right.

We tried Lola’s at the kids’ recommendation. It took us a while to be seated, which was annoying because the place was pretty empty and there were plenty of staff around. Then they tried to cram three of us in a table clearly meant for two. We pulled two tables together while the waitress wasn’t looking. Neither table was clean. The food was pretty good — we ordered a combination pentacle, burritos, and enchiladas. The margarita was definitely in the small side and served in a rocks glass. Fail on the drinks. Service was slow, one of the orders was wrong, and we never did get drink refills. I was with two kids and I got the impression they would have preferred booze-guzzling adults instead. The wait staff seems more interested in hanging out at the bar than helping patrons. I think they stuck us in the corner and forgot about us. Thanks but no thanks.

Lola’s is a great meet up spot for dinner or just drinks with friends. I’ve always had amazing service here, the wait staff is always really welcoming and accommodating. The food and drinks are also incredible, 4 $ margaritas can’t be beat. 2 $ taco Tuesdays are also great!

Had been there a few times before for both drinks and food, and it was good. Today was a different story my margarita was awful and I was charged $ 9 for a virgin mango n water drink for my son. Bill came to $ 30 for 2 alcoholic drinks, the virgin tasteless mango«smoothie» and a queso dip.

Was very excited to try this place out as the menu online looked amazing. To our surprise things were NOT amazing … They sat us at a table that was not clean. They weren’t even busy. The waitresses seemed uninterested and were gathered at the bar gossiping for the most part. Ordered a shrimp burrito. What a disgrace. It tasted like the shrimp were boiled in beer. Not authentic Mexican food at all. I don’t know who was cooking in the back but it seemed like they cooked the ingredients to separately and the flavors did not compliment each other at all. Guacamole was not impressive. How can you mess up guac!!! We had a stomachache all night. Such a shame. The location has ton of potential. Would like to see ethnically diverse employees.

It’s unfortunate that the service was so poor and food mediocre because of the potential with this location. We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. The server delivered 1 drink at a time for a party if 4, got 3 of the 4 orders wrong, and could not understand that we wanted the guacamole appetizer that was on the menu. She kept bringing us sides of guac. We waited for our check and finally asked someone else to get it for us. Then we had to go find her to pay. She was standing inside talking with friends and didn’t even apologize for never coming back. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is that it was nice to sit outside. I just wish someone could go into this location and get it right.

Our friends, Providence locals, took us here for Margaritas and Mexican food. It was a bit of a dreary day so the place was pretty dead, though apparently there was a bachelorette going on upstairs. Admittedly things weren’t off to a great start. Our server was rather rude, though we got the impression by the end of the night that it may have had something to do with the party upstairs. The free chips we were offered before placing our order were stale, but they did replace them at our request. All this aside, the food more than speaks for itself. The guacamole was absolutely delicious; fresh, and not too spicy. I ordered fajitas and they were fantastic, and the portions *huge*. There was no way I was going to be able to finish it all, though I did try. I don’t know *what* those sauces they included were but they were to die for, especially the chipotle sauce. They also had a wide selection of margaritas and I was told to go with the simple $ 4 margarita(I forget the name). It was delicious, and you definitely can’t beat the price! All in all, a great little place with great food that’s great for friend!

Couldn’t wait to see my girlfriends after a long week! Got there after they did and they still hadn’t received their 1st round, or water… it wasn’t THAT busy. Sat down and chatted, ordered a drink and 10 minutes later, received a drink… needless to say, you see the pattern. Michelle(3046) was less then thrilled with her server job. She needed some work in the customer service department. Not impressed at all with the service and the meal was okay.

Just walked home after a nice time at Lola’s. I had a strawberry margarita & my friends had Tecate’s with lime. We split the Queso Fundito and the Super Nachos. Wow! Everything was delicious! The three of us are so full! The fundito is so full of flavor. The super nachos really are super! You must try the layers of cheese, meat, guac, and sour cream! We love coming to Lola’s!

So I am not sure where all the reviews went. First time I reviewed this place there were probably 20 other reviews. So, let me start by saying if they changed ownership, this may not be accurate any longer, but assuming t is not. First, the location is fantastic. Parking can suck but that is everywhere. Get out on the deck on a warm afternoon and look over the water… fantastic. Next the Margaritas are pretty good. Different variations, may work for you and others may not but a wide selection. Lastly, the food itself is not great. But, I am from Texas and I find most Mexican food in the NE is not so great. But, they do make great Nacho’s. So a nice day on the deck, cold drink with friends snacking on nachos… It is a great day.

My party of 3 waited for 2 hours and didn’t even get our food order taken so we eventually walked out. The only reason we stayed so long was because we did get drinks and we hadn’t talked enough lately and definitely enjoyed each other’s company so much that we were too distracted to notice the time. Here’s the thing, it wasn’t that Lola’s was busy, they just didn’t really seem to be serving anything that wasn’t drinks or chips with blah salsa. Eventually I came to the conclusion that the hard-working bartender was babysitting everyone in the place until the patrons could get hungry enough to get bored and go somewhere else to eat. And don’t let that confuse you. We spent at least 30 mins at the bar before being seated at an actual table so it wasn’t like I was this confused person who didn’t know that you shouldn’t eat at the bar. We were at a legit table. It wasn’t in the back. It wasn’t a table that would be easy to ignore INFACT we saw many other tables around us filled with other people who were also NOTBEINGFED. I almost started to wonder if maybe they just didn’t have any cooks/chefs all of a sudden? Which. Okay. Fine. Shit happens. BUT. If that’s the case: TELLEVERYONESOTHATTHEYCANLEAVE. You know… Instead of just ruining their whole night since most restaurants in the area close at a certain time. It was a mess. No excuse. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a situation like this that didn’t at least involve the place being packed or busy or my table being in a weird area or something like that. I have definitely never had to wait 2 hours to even get an order in while seated. It was just unprofessional and somewhat hilarious because of HOW rare and ridiculous it actually was. Hole-in-the-wall establishments can feed you great tacos within 3 minutes so to wait 2 hours and not even have someone ask you what you want to eat AT A RESTAURANT is beyond ridiculous. The only excuse would be IFTHEYWEREBUSY which they were not.
