Jessie’s Dessert Bar

Cute place, perfect to stop in for a snack or end your night. I was exploring Federal Hill and got hungry so my SO and I stopped in here for a pre-​dinner dessert. Their menu posted outside sounded delish — full of coffees, ice cream/​gelato, cakes, and baked goods. There are alcoholic coffees and selection of fruity martinis.
It’s a cozy atmosphere set up like a living room with different seating areas, loveseats and a cool aquarium-​table along with the usual tables and chairs. There’s an outside patio, too, to enjoy your sweets during nice weather and people watch. We got a gelato with whipped cream, crushed cannoli shells, and hot fudge. Credit cards accepted for over $ 10 purchases. The only thing that would have made it better is if we’d been given real spoons instead of plastic spoons.

Jessie’s is located in the center of Atwells Ave and is a welcome relief to the string of Italian and other semi expensive restaurants. While it serves no meals, it does serve coffee, tea, dessert, and… alcohol. One person can get a coffee while someone else gets a martini. Sounds good to me. The atmosphere is great… cottage style tables couches and chairs. The desserts are pretty good — I wouldn’t say they were perfect, but the low key atmosphere is well worth a visit. I love the peanut butter pie — rich and very peanut buttery. mmm
