Great little hole in the wall. I usually stop by after work when I don’t feel like cooking. I’m addicted to the spicy noodles. I’ve also ordered party tray sizes for catering. They also have banh mi sandwiches that are pretty decent considering there aren’t any other places in RI that have them. Their menus have pictures of the dishes which is helpful. And of course I always grab a bubble tea to go!

I’m a big fan of the spicy noodle chicken. I just tried the beef and BBQ pork sandwiches those are delicious as well!

Tried this place today and it was pretty good! I got a tofu banh mi and a papaya salad. Prices are very low($ 3.50 for sandwich, $ 5 for the salad) and the food was prepared on the spot. Not a 5-star joint because as other reviewers have mentioned, the bread isn’t as on-point as it needs to be to be truly authentic. But I can forgive that — there’s not many Vietnamese bakeries around here that I know of. I’ll be coming back soon!

In terms of food, this place was amazing, a definite 5-star rating in terms of authenticity, quantity and quality. In terms of cleanliness, however, this place made me even cringe. I had an insatiable craving for banh mi and after scouring Unilocal for a decent sandwich, I found this little hole-in-the-wall establishment to be just a few minutes drive distance from my workplace. The place is run by a small Asian family, and Mike, the son, was really upfront with the quality of the food and offered some really helpful suggestions as I poured through their menu items and asked a question on almost every single dish. I’ll say now, that despite their restaurant name and their popular sandwiches, I’d recommend their main meals, including spicy chicken basil, phở, and pad thai. I did enjoy the fried tofu sandwich(less than $ 4), with the freshly(or rather re-baked) bread, crunchy tofu, freshly chopped herbs and pickled veggies, but it was nothing in comparison with some of the other surprise items. I ordered the papaya salad and it was served in a huge bowl with a large head of cabbage and numerous fermented(hope not raw) crab legs. I was incredibly taken back by the taste, as it incorporated a pungent aroma of fermented seafood that I’ve not tasted before. Even as I write the review, I still can’t tell if I liked it or not, but I would have been remiss if I did not order it, but please make it less salty in the future. As for the other dishes, I really liked the pork phở(very comforting and full of flavors), the chicken basil and the nam chow. I was not a big fan of the spicy noodles, but if you’re hungry and want to eat a lot of carbs, then this will definitely fill you up. The main reason why this place got knocked down a notch was because of the cleanliness. As soon as I sat down at the table, my jacket got soaked with a sticky, sour sauce, which I subsequently noted on the other small window tables as well. I ended up asking for a large wad of paper and cleaned up all of the tables as a result. Does that mean you shouldn’t eat here? Absolutely not, but just be careful to look before you sit. I’m definitely going to order from this place in the future and they also offer catering options as well at reasonable prices. Food: 4 – 5 stars Service: 4 stars(be expected to wait at least 15 minutes for your food to be served, which means that it’s all made from scratch) Ambiance: 1 star Price: 5 stars — I paid for my friends’ and my meal, and it came to be less than $ 30. CASHONLY!

I think I’ve put off writing a review on this place long enough. First off, you’ll notice that I don’t give out 5 star reviews freely. I feel as though a place has to hit it out of the park to earn that. This place has done that. Its a small establishment with maybe 3 tables, so it’s not really meant to be an eat in restaurant. The service is friendly and timing is reasonable. Give yourself 5 extra minutes when picking up food and you likely won’t have to wait. The star of the show is the food, all of it. Be it the spicy noodles, pork buns, papaya salad, pineapple fried rice or my favorite the báhn mì sandwiches(all of them, though my favorite is the bbq mixed combo), you can’t miss nor can you find better elsewhere in this state IMO. If you can find a place that makes any of the above better, please let me know. They are cash only, so be sure to stop at the ATM before you get there. Then just go home, sit back and enjoy the Asian goodness before you.

Update: tried their Thai Green Curry tonight and it was surprisingly tasty! It didn’t look like anything special at first but I’ve got to say, the curry sauce was nice and thin, the way it’s supposed to be. The vegetables were al dente, not overdone as they often are. The chicken was surprisingly tender. Not too spicy, for those of you who worry about eating Thai food. I think next time I would ask for more of a kick just cause I love the heat.

Decided to check this place out after reading all the reviews on Unilocal.Suffice to say I had an awesome experience, what the reviews don’t tell you is this is a thai, Vietnamese restaurant. I have been searching high and low for a Thai restaurant close by. I got the beef teriyaki bahn mi sandwich and Thai ice tea with boba. Both were amazing. The sandwich in which the bread was like a French baguette was crunchy, the vegetables were fresh and the beef added a bit of sweetness with the sauce. The Thai ice tea with boba was pretty accurate to the real deal. I’m half Thai so I’ve had the real thing and it’s pretty close. The man who took my order was very friendly and answered my questions. It’s definitely a diamond in a rough neighborhood. The outside is sketchy but the inside is real. Don’t judge a book by its cover cause if you do in this case you will miss out! Definitely will be coming again!

Only went here for the first time a week back and I liked what I got. The spicy noodles is really good! I ordered it medium but it barely tingled my taste buds. I also got the Laos style papaya salad medium — it’s good at most and this was actually a small spicy kick. Small spot. It has a few high tables and chairs for a quick sit and eat. Keep in mind this place is cash only, so bring those bills for this place! Nice little place offering the to go food of Southeast Asia. I’ll definitely come back to this place and try their other offers, like Banh Mi and such.

I love this place. They are really nice and the food is consistent and good. They make things fresh. Their steamed buns are so good that I’ve gotten my co-workers addicted. For a good price, you can get a sandwich. I don’t typically leave work for lunch(especially not in this area of Providence) but I do make an exception for the Asian Bakery!

WOW! I am so excited I found this place. I ordered the best Pad Kee Mow and Phở broth I’ve ever had not to mention a BOMB Banh Mi. Only thing about the sandwich… they don’t heat the meet. just a warning, request it heated if you like it that way. I can’t wait to goo back again. Oh and the price is more than fair($ 4 for a Banh Mi). The pictures posted don’t do the food any justice. I’ll try to remember to snap a couple shots next time.

Beef Phở was surprisingly tasty for a place that is a hole in the wall.

Stopped in here after checking it out on Unilocal.First off, let me tell you, the look of the place is deceiving. Certainly a hole in the wall! However, the food is absolutely PHENOMENAL. I purchased a roast pork sandwich and a palm water beverage, amazing. Remember it’s cash only, but the prices are extremely reasonable. Great place for lunch or take out.

I looked into this place when I saw on Unilocal,4 and a half stars with decent amount of reviews? I must try especially because I tried Vietnamese sandwiches and Asian smoothies everywhere. I looked upon to this place to find its a hole in the wall, I gotten excited because those places are actually really good in some way, but when I took a first bite of a beef sandwich, I had mixed feelings of tasting something so delicious but also quite terrible. Where should I start? I ordered the sandwich and I noticed they microwaved the beef… What? That’s kind of weird. You would think its kept in a warmer or something but no… Tasting it was like a texture of a Texas pulled pork sandwich, disgusting, and the sauce wasn’t making it any better. Quite a disappointment. But what I did find quite surprising though is the bread and veggies. It somehow tasted so good that it neutralized the tragedy beef I had with it. It is actually the reason why I ate the whole thing. The bread was probably the best I ever had. Pretty light, had a small crunch, warm, and with the veggies, I kind of wish I had a veggie sandwich. The bubble tea on the other hand, all artificial, not a fan and I even asked if they use fresh avocado. They said they did but I seen them put artificial powder in it. I absolutely hope its a miscommunication on their part but at least I know not to ever buy their sandwich or drinks again. Maybe I’ll try the phở, that in fact looks incredible. I would have to be crazy starving and desparite to come back. Only reason why I left two stars were the service of their bright smile and their French baguette bread

First time going here & will be back for the sandwiches. Taste great and they’re larger than the ones in Chinatown-Boston. It saves me the drive going to Boston. It’s easy to get to off 195, so I love that. I got 2 beef ones for $ 9, you can’t beat that. Only wish they kept the beef in a crockpot like they do in Chinatown to keep it warm. I like extra pickled vegetables in mine and didn’t forgot to ask for it; I didn’t have to ask since there is plenty. Is small and parking kinda rough to get on street, but luckily there’s a BK parking lot around the corner. Cash only which is fine. I’ll be back weekly to get them & maybe try something new as well.

I turned to Unilocal for my banh mi craving. This shop is very small but you won’t miss it– their sign is easy to see from the street. I ordered a bbq beef and a reg beef sandwich, both spicy. For under $ 10 I was super impressed(note: cash only). Other reviews say to be patient bc there’s a wait, but I didn’t really feel like I waited too long– maybe 10 min max? Anyways, I’ll definitely be back for the sandwiches and hopefully next time I can try the noodles too.

Good food. Lady behind the counter wasn’t happy to be there, but the guy was nice and somewhat explained what was happening. The steam bun was outstanding.

Wasn’t feeling well and remembered seeing Phở(noodle soup) on the menu and found it surprising how I never tried it there before. Instead of Phở Horns, I opted to come here instead so I could indulge in other goodies. I called in an order 30 mins in advance for the Chicken Phở and for dinner later: Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice and 2 Banh Mis(a Reg/BBQ combo and a Teriyaki Chicken — always with jalapenos on the side so I can adjust spiciness). Still had to wait another 5 – 7 mins as the place was packed for lunchtime. No steam buns — made me a little sad. =( The Phở was absolutely delicious! The only thing I would’ve asked was no bean sprouts as they were super wilted by the time I got home — they were packed with the noodles and also there was no lime but luckily I had some at home. Ate some fried rice and one of the sandwiches for dinner with the bf and we both enjoyed them thoroughly. Never had the Reg/BBQ combo before and boy was it awesomely delicious! Where else can you get ALLOFTHAT for $ 24! Everything was enough for at least 2 meals.

I’m from Ma and am used to delicious banh mi’s. I came here based on the banh mi reviews but I really wasn’t into the sandwiches. Maybe it’s the best in the area? But definitely wasn’t for me. I ordered both a bbq beef and a regular sandwich. The workers are nice enough and the prices are great. But the sandwiches just didn’t taste fresh or even good for that matter, they were just edible.

Every bit as delicious(and as slow) as everyone says. The bahn mi in particular is excellent!
