It’s a shame their food was so good because service was AWFUL. It took 10 minutes to bus our table, 5 min to get chips, 3 more min for our waitress to ask«what do we want to eat». No hello, no apologies for the wait, just our order request. Didn’t ask how our food was during the meal, didn’t say«you’re welcome» when we thanked her for our 15 min over due water refill, and didn’t thank us for coming in or apologize for the wait/being understaffed. Takes a lot for us to complain, so IF we order from here again, it’ll be to-go.

Pretty dang good place! I enjoyed the flavor of the fajitas and the excellent chips & salsa. Service was fast and friendly. One thing that seemed odd was that the salsa and chips taste almost identical to those at Anameia’s in Plano. I know back in Houston a lot of Mexican places were owned by the same group of people and had similar menus, maybe that’s what is going on here. Otherwise, no complaints. Place is small but clean and friendly. Everything is tasty, really enjoyed it here.

The wait was 30 minutes on Fri, but it was worth it for some good mexican food. The queso Blanco was pretty good, the tortilla chips were average(would have preferred thinner), Margarita was ok but served in a tall glass and it melted really quickly. Chicken enchilada and brisket taco deal was great! My husband got the brisket tacos in homemade flour tortillas… yum! Great meat and served with a big bed of lettuce and toppings! Service was attentive… waitress wasnt overly friendly but did a good job. manager stopped by to say hi. .we’ll be back. Note to management: stop serving margaritas in those tall glasses. I would have had a second if they didn’t melt so quickly!!!

Have visited several times since this is near my home but have been honestly disappointed each time. Salsa is very bland, queso is gross, tortillas are not fresh. Tried their signature enchiladas once and was stuck in proximity to a restroom for 24 hours. Staff is friendly and attentive but small errors make a difference in your meal: forgetting to put in appetizer order, barely any ice in soda, etc. I feel bad giving any restaurant a bad review but this place just isn’t worth trying based on the food. Pass on Mesa’s and visit one of the other Tex Mex choices in this area.

It’s really nothing special honestly. The high reviews have to be because this is Prosper. You can eat here or at Ernesto’s or drive 30 mins somewhere else. Our waitress was ok, but didn’t understand the concept of an appetizer. We ordered an appetizer, than our meals, and when she brought out our meals I asked her if they were still making the appetizer and her response was«oh… When you ordered the fajitas I thought you meant instead of the appetizer.» No big deal. Saved a bit on both the ticket and her tip(didn’t stiff her, just that the tip is a percentage of the now lower total). This is like the fifth time we’ve eaten here and I’ve yet to eat anything that wowed me. On the border might actually be better. Shoot, chilis’ fajitas are better. If you live in Prosper, it’s convenient and ok I suppose. If you’re just visiting wait till you get home.

I love tex mex and I take it seriously. Mesa’s does not. Salsa isn’t good(don’t compare it to mi cocina!), queso is awful. Food was eh. I only went once, and it wasn’t a busy night, yet I still found myself totally ignored by our waiter. I had to basically beg him for their happy hour margarita(which, by the way, was the only decent thing I had). Maybe all these other 4⁄5 star reviewers had waiters that attentively brought them margs, hence the good rating? All I know is, I won’t be back.

My family and I love to eat here because the food is plentiful, reasonable priced, and, with little kids this is important, fast! I like to try new dishes every time we visit and I’m never disappointed. They have a nice variety of dishes on the menu, so you everyone can find something they like, whether their in the mood for spicy and exotic or simple and fresh. I really enjoyed a spicy shrimp dish I got and the fajitas. My husband always gets some kind of steak dish. Plus, for the kids, the have plain and simple dishes that they like. Of course after the chips and quest, they don’t have much room for a lot of food and we always get the apple dish for dessert because it’s our favorite. Service is great and the place is clean.

Excellent service, wonderful food, and top notch margaritas. If you live within 15 miles you need to come here. Note, they close at 9 pm Sharp and will turn you away at 8:50pm! Don’t even bother coming here for a late dinner!

What a little gem of a restaurant! We went at 3:30 on a Sunday, so they weren’t very busy. Maybe four other tables. Cesar, our waiter, was very attentive, we didn’t have to ask for refills of anything, they just appeared. We started with chips, salsa and black bean dip, and added guacamole. The black bean dip is very good(almost as good as Lalo’s!), as is the guacamole. We ordered the Jalapeño Grilled Fajitas, and they are amazing! They have this cilantro queso that is to die for, and the grilled chicken is fabulous! Our only complaint is not enough meat. Could use a little less rice and fried onion and a little more chicken. Other than that, it was flavorful and perfect! We ended with the sizzling apple pie, and would have licked the plate had other patrons not been present We will definitely be back, and will bring family and friends.

I’ve been going to Mesa’s since the day they opened. What a great neighborhood Mexican restaurant. My go-to order is the Jalapeño Grill Fajitas(combination & Fried Onions, please). Everything on the menu is good, but those are the best. The spicy cilantro sauce is where it’s at. Recently updated bar area and patio with mist-ing fans are perfect on a hot day. Try the sizzling apple pie for dessert. You’re welcome.

I have been to Mesas Mexican grill twice this month! Jorge has waited on me both times and he has done a great job! He is very professional and keeps chips and drinks coming as needed without asking. The food is amazing! My wife really enjoys the brisket tacos and I like the steak fajitas. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a nice professional atmosphere.

Sorry to spoil the four and five star party, but it’s about to happen. I just moved to the area and decided to stop by for lunch with a friend. I was greeted by a nice lady which was also our waitress. She took us to our seats and assisted us in ordering. The customer service is great. The margaritas were pretty good, but the food was just«okay». Nothing really wowed me about it. Their cheese dip was not good at all to me. I will return in the future, but only for the margaritas.

Very good atmosphere and the food is great. Had the brisket chimichanga. Not sure if it was on the menu, but it was great.

Good atmosphere, good location and good food. Service was better than average, but nothing special. Drinks were just ok, but food was enjoyable. I had a chicken chimichanga(not what I would typically get), and I was pleasantly surprised. Tasted fresh and had the right amount of everything on the dish. Would recommend to any mexican food fan.

We tried this place twice… just to give it another chance. Bad service, bad food. The margaritas are $ 10.00each. That’s a joke when you can get a better margarita at Gloria’s or Mi Cocina for $ 8.00. The fajitas came out with raw onions and the kids chicken fingers and fries were soaked in grease. Our kids wouldn’t touch them… it was a waste of money. We will not be back.

Love love love this place! They are very friendly and the black bean dip is perfecto they do close a little early but if this place stayed open late and turned the patio to a dance floor this would be my favorite hangout spot!

After seeing good reviews on Unilocal and passing by every once in awhile we decided to stop by and have dinner a few days ago. The staff was very courteous and did a great job of keeping our drinks filled and making sure that we were comfortable. The food came out very quick as well. We were surprised at how fast we received it. Everything was nice and hot. My wife had Raul’s plate which included one cheese enchilada, one cheese taco, beef taco, and beans and rice. The price point is 9.25. The beans and rice were very tasty. The cheese enchilada and cheese taco were average mexican fare. The beef on the beef taco was ok, but the fresh veggies, made the taco worth eating. I ordered the Tia. Which is described as three chalupa’s. 1 Queso, 1 Guacamole, and 1 bean. For a little over $ 7. The queso chalupa was just that. A tostada with their queso drenched over it. The second chalupa was a tostada with a garnish of tomato and guacamole, and the third chalupa made the plate worth it. The bean chalupa is what I remember as a chalupa. A tostada with a little bit of beans, and a ton of tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. The lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese tasted like they were from the farm(So fresh). If all three chalupa’s would have been like the bean chalupa. I would have been in heaven. With quick service, good food, and a great atmosphere. We will be back. P. S. The bean dip they serve at the beginning of your meal is outstanding!

OK short and sweet: I’m a huge fan of Mi Cocina but the drive kills me. This place has all my favorite entrees, down to the T, with the exact same flavors, just with different names(have a MC favorite? Read the descriptions and you’ll score!) Great and attentive service every time with avg. price of entrees around $ 10 and the«Gloria’s» style bean dip closes the deal for me.

I LOVE this local place! For many reasons… 1. Staff is always friendly and always attentive. 2. They remember you and what you drink etc 3. They serve Choc mints by the door for when you leave 4. Their margaritas are slamming! 5. The food is good quality… Not high dollar but very good, creative menu. This has become our once a week date night local dive where we always feel welcome and have a good time. I do recommend their nachos, quesadillas and fajitas. Their salads are«ok» but not my fave. They will also personalize for you. When I order chicken breast and veggies… They bring just that, a good amount and it’s always fantastic!
