I’ve been dining at The Angus for 50 years. Some of my fondest childhood memories are encased in those walls, back in the days when you dressed up to go out to eat. I’ve worked my way through the menu over the years, but always come back to the filet. And where can you still get a Grasshopper? And where else has a salad bar that even comes close to the Angus? The only place were you can have it all, get it all, and enjoy it all is The Angus. I don’t recall ever having a bad meal or poor service there. And if per chance you did, they’d make it right for you. Great place, great service, excellent dining experience. I hesitated to write this review because now everyone will want to go there, but they take reservations, so never fear — I will always be able to get a table.

I have been going here since I was in high school in the 70s. I go there r passing thru now a days. Thankfully it is still the charming comfy supper club inside. Other than a flat screen or two you could be walking into the 70s. It is dark and the people are friendly. The open grill is classically turning out some of the best steaks ever after all these years. The prices are reasonable, the drinks are a good pour and also reasonable and the selection is great. Now for the details. On a recent visit in August, home grown sweetcorn was on the menu. A plate of fresh garden tomatoes was served up on the salad bar as well as pickled herring! Stop going to chains people, this is one of the seminal family owned supper clubs which Wisconsin is famous for.

NEVER had a bad experience, good selection, salad bar, soup, and a real pour from the bar. Set at the bar, have a drink, check out the menu order and have a seat.

If I had written this review a few years ago, it would have gotten 1, maybe 2, stars. However, the Angus has really stepped up the quality of its cuts of meat in my opinion and I’m happy to be a repeat customer again. The Black Angus is your typical Wisconsin steakhouse/supper club. Open grill in the dining room, huge island bar, large dining area with some great old school round booths in the back. They feature a nice variety of cuts — the 10 oz filet is my choice — combined with the standard and filling soup and salad bar. They recently began adding more unique seafood specials like mahi mahi and swordfish to augment the menu. Take the time to enjoy a few drinks and some crackers and cheese spread before dinner.
