So excited to see a new little café down town. Being that I worked down town for years, it was always irritating the lack of good little cafes with great reasonably priced food. I went in during Viking Fest as I needed a break from all the carnival food, I was promptly greater by two wonderful ladies behind the counter. It wasn’t very busy at all since it was fairly early in the morning. I was starving for some good hearty food. I started to look at the menu and instantly was recommended the lunch special. It was a sandwich, side, drink, and cookie for $ 9. I was instantly sold. I decided to browse a little while my food was being prepared. I decided to get myself a treat for later. I chose a Carmel roll. The sandwich was fresh and amazong carved turkey on a hoagie roll, crisp lettuce and tomato. The side I chose was potato salad, oh my Lanta, tasted just like mama’s home made that she makes at family barbecues. Now the Carmel roll. Literally to die for. It was perfectly sweet, but a little salty and resembles a cinnamon roll. I am so excited this little place is in poulsbo. Keep up the amazong food and treats. Velkomen to Poulsbo Fat Apple Bakery!

This is a great little bakery! It smells great, has great food and the staff was nice! My best friend bought and enjoyed a slice of cheesecake and my daughters enjoyed the snickerdoodles. We will be visiting again and picking up some of the delicious looking bread and other goodies!

Went in on a Saturday morning and I guess I expected more pastries, cinnamon rolls, etc for a bakery. The case was nearly empty. They had menu items, but everything seemed really pricey for what ir was. So I ended up getting coffee, which was very good. But, still left hungry. Maybe consider a name change to Bistro, as that is more like what it is.

Really good service and food. A little small but homey. Grate homemade ketchup and self serve coffee! Wanted biscuits and grave, they only had a half order left but that was more than enough. Tasty pastries in the glass display, yumm!

Kudos to Fat Apple Bakery. They refunded my cake price(donated the cost to a local food bank). Very stand up. They still do a great breakfast and I’ve always loved their cookies. Thank you Fat Apple!

There’s a certain bakery that everyone goes to in Poulsbo. Their loss — because Fat Apple Bakery, just a block or two up from the«other» place, is all that and more. Fat Apple is not just a bakery — they also offer breakfast and lunch fare. Breakfast offerings include biscuits and gravy, french toast, and«croque madame,» a cool twist on croque-monsieur, among other treats. Lunch selections are relatively basic — deli-style sandwiches, grilled cheese, soups, and salads. Don’t let the simple menu fool you, though. The food at Fat Apple is full of unique flavours and fresh ingredients, bright and vibrant. Today’s lunch special was a cold corned beef and provolone sandwich, which I got with a salad and a cup of sweet potato bisque. All were delicious, hearty, and accompanied each other nicely. The soup in particular had a surprisingly complex taste that went well with the sandwich. Fat Apple has an open, friendly atmosphere. You’re greeted as you walk in but you choose your own table to sit, with an option for outdoor seating on nice days. You pick out your own coffee cup from an eclectic collection. Ali, our server today, could not have been nicer. She was patient and helpful as we made out choices, and had everything out to us promptly, and presented very nicely. She stayed busy, but never seemed too busy to help, and was just the right amount of attentive. In a word, Fat Apple is a charming place. And let’s not forget that it is a bakery too. Fat Apple offers different breads, pastries, and treats — they even include a gluten-free selection for those inclined that way(I’m not, but hey). Everything from Apple Kuchen to chocolate Rumballs, from soft lemon cookies to caramel sticky buns. And all of it is flavourful and decadent. When you’re looking in the display case, it’s hard to decide what you want — but rest assured, no matter what you choose, it will be delightful. Everyone else can keep going to that other bakery in Poulsbo. I know that we’ll be heading back to Fat Apple next time!

We have tried this place a few times because we really want it to succeed! The best thing we had was their club sandwich & although it’s pricey, it was very good & clearly made with high quality ingredients. The reason I can’t rate them higher is because of the actual baked goods. We have tried scones, brownies, cookies, & cupcakes, & coffee cake. The cookies & brownies, & cupcakes were average. I have had equally good at a potluck. Nothing spectacular about the flavor or texture. The scones and coffee cake were just plain bad. Both were incredibly dry & crumbly, so much so that my husband walked back at the bakery to take his coffee cake back. I’ve never seen him spit out sweets of any kind but he did. They were gracious about the return & gave him a brownie instead. He ate about half, but the rest went uneaten as he was underwhelmed. I was starving & had to get back to work, so I salvaged my scone by dunking it in my coffee. I would go back for the sandwich, but not the baked goods, unfortunately.

Ordered a red velvet sheet cake with cream cheese frosting for my husband’s birthday. It was delicious and so moist! We are new to town and plan on getting all of our birthday cakes here from now on!

Picked up a cake over the holidays. It was the worst cake we have ever had. Dry and the Frosting was awful. It was a yule log and it looked delicious. It was beautifully decorated, just tasted horrible. We ended up throwing it away.

Sounds like a great place, so we wanted to try it. Checked the internet and it said they opened at 7am. We drove there and they were closed. There were two others who were supposed to meet people there. Not happening, place was not open. Tried calling to get the«real» hours they’re open, got an information machine that doesn’t take a message.

I used to be the first one through the door anytime a new bakery opened up in Poulsbo. Well, I used to be left with an «ok» or sometimes less experience so I took my time when I saw that the Fat Apple Bakery opened up. Through chance(and maybe a little bit of desperation) while looking for GF Snickerdoodles, I saw that although they did not make them(only the non GF kind) but did say on their website to ask if you don’t see something and they will try to make it! So I fired off an email on Monday(one of the days that they are closed) and Barb answered the same day and said that she would be willing to give it a try. I went in during the afternoon and they were there waiting for me. AND they are delicious! Bought a dozen of them, a GF brownie and a «normal» Snickerdoodle for me. All are yummy. My new favorite bakery in Poulsbo.

Came here for breakfast using a groupon. The service was welcoming, everything is made from scratch and delicious. I had the oatmeal with golden raisins, candied walnuts and there homemade apple pear compote. Very very good! My mom had the poached eggs over red sauce. The eggs were poached perfectly, came with toast and roasted potatoes — even homemade ketchup. The pastries look amazing. My only complaint is the restaurant was a bit chilly but I run cold.

The cucumbers on my salad were slimy, but I was able to pull them off without impacting the salad. The sandwich was decent. Everything was ok, nothing fantastic though.

Very friendly! Greet you as you come through door with a smile and a menu! The display cases have both GF and regular treats to choose from. Watched the orders go by and not one seemed to skimp on size or portion. A coffee tea self serve was nearby for patrons to help themselves with. Lots of busy going on inside. Certainly hope this place stays as it is a wonderful addition to Poulsbo!

Folks — if you are looking for French pastries made with high quality ingredients, then this is the bakery for you. don’t be fooled by the bakery down the street that is packed. those folks are using inferior ingredients and mixes. the fat apple is turning out snicker doodles that taste like pure butter. and their sticky buns are completely insane. a peek back at their kitchen confirmed what I already knew — no artificial ingredients or high fructose corn syrup here. I wanted to buy the whole tray of sticky buns on the spot. I will be coming back from west seattle just to try out their breakfast offerings also. a total win. go here, you will not be disappointed. leave the other inferior spots to the tourists.

I had the Breakfast Special of 2 eggs, choice of meat and bread with fruit for $ 8. This was not a small breakfast. My easy over eggs were perfectly done The ham was thick and tasty like straight off the farm and the fresh made bagels bigger than hamburger buns with peach jam were to die for. The restaurant is bright and simply decorated with local art. The staff courteous. Also serve yourself coffee and tea readily available.

Went here for breakfast yesterday. It is a casual, friendly little place that is off to a busy start. My wife had the 2 egg special. She liked the small ham slice. The coffee was on the cool side. I had something I can’t pronounce. Our server described it as a grilled cheese sandwich with an egg on top. It was really good! The sourdough bread went well with the Gruyère cheese and mornay sauce. Yummy! We waited a long time for the food, which was a minus. And be sure to arrive before 11 am if you want eggs, they were telling guests no more breakfast in a less than friendly way at exactly 11:01. It is a new place and I’m sure they will smooth out the wrinkles soon.
