I tried few sushi places in Poughkeepsie, this place is by far the freshest sushi around. The specialty rolls are great must try the Lagrange. Service is wonderful. Prices are good. Most emportantly the freshness of the seafood.

They make great sushi, flavorful without the addition of soy sauce and wasabi, which is hard to find. Their ginger dressing is also very good. We haven’t had anything bad here yet! And they have Mochi Ice Cream

This is our new favorite spot as of the last 8 months. They are the nicest people that truly care about the customers. Always overly accommodating, with special treats while you wait. Now let’s get to the Sushi… sooooo good! Very fresh, and I go to all the local sushi places. Nothing touches them in the Poughkeepsie area. Some of the rolls are a bit large, but order accordingly. You won’t be disappointed in this place. Everyone we have introduced has now become a regular and some of are friends are the most critical. Enjoy!

I was visiting Poughkeepsie to try out the gym nearby and decided to get some sushi with my boyfriend. It was 20 minutes before they were going to close so I walked in and asked if they were closing or had any more sushi left to make. The lady welcomed us in and got sat. We ordered quickly because we felt bad knowing they were about to close. We were the only ones in the restaurant.
We ordered the Seaworld special roll, one salmon avocado roll, one eel cucumber roll, and one spicy tuna roll. I have got to say this was the BEST SUSHI WE HAVE EVER HAD. My boyfriend and I are huge sushi fanatics and try new sushi places often. This tops it. It’s sad that we can’t come back often but I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives nearby or are visiting as well.

Yum! I work close and have actually never tried sushi. What a big mistake on my part! I really like the staff here. Food is alway fresh and delicious Nd I eat here at least once a week now.

my job was recently re-​located to the area and we were looking for good lunch options. decided to try this place out and was pleasantly surprised! we ordered delivery, and got the lunch special which is a great deal. 2 rolls for 8.50 with soup and a salad. the rolls were delicious and fresh. will definitely be ordering from here a lot

Highly recommend this place. We got a delivery from here and didn’t expect much and was so surprised! For 9.50 I got a large bento box (salmon cooked perfectly and my most hated «sushi» roll the California was actually very good), large salad with great tasting dressing, large soup size that would normally cost me $ 4 at a near by shop for free as it came with my lunch special. This is my new sushi spot!

Excellent quality sushi and so delicious! Good and fast service as well.
Taking off one star because there’s no entrée choice that allows you to try a special roll, which is what I look for in sushi restaurants. I can get regular rolls anywhere, I would like an entrée option where I can try something unique to this restaurant.
I ended up ordered a special roll separately– the volcano roll– and it was so delicious!
If they added one or more entrée options that included choice of special roll, Sushi House would easily get 5 stars.

I really love the sushi here. Their fish is fresh, their rolls are creative and tasty, and their kitchen does a terrific job with the cooked stuff too — in particular, they had a hamachikama appetizer special during our most recent visit that was really, really good. On multiple trips to this place, for both eat-​in and take-​out, it has become my go-​to sushi joint in the neighborhood.
They are very polite and hospitable servers, too.
One little ding — what’s up with the décor? They put in these decorative boxes on the walls with flashing colored lights… would make Tokyo blush a bit!

Nicest people with the best sushi I’ve probably ever had in my life. Definitely will be back when I’m in the area next. One of the chefs even gave me a free sample of a speciality spicy roll he made in front of me. That’s how you keep a customer right there!

Wow! Cute and charismatic. Friendly and helpful. Delicious and affordable. They have rice free sushi rolls and they’re delicious! there were hearts in my bubble tea! Go there now!!!

Attn Poughkeepsie residents: please support this place! The sushi was outstanding. It’s right up there with some of the best I’ve had, and I’ve eaten at all the heavy hitters in NYC and other big cities. The service was excellent as well. From the outside it doesn’t look like much. Don’t let that fool you. Where I currently live, I would love to have a place like this. If I was local, I’d be here several times per month. In Poughkeepsie several times per year, and each time I will be back. Loved it. Easy 5 stars.

Have gotten take out the last two days after reading reviews on Unilocal,fantastic! Got the Godzilla roll, it’s out of this world, everything else to fresh and tasty. Interior looks modern and clean, nice place for a strip mall. Best Sushi in area

What a find! I’d driven past here often, but never had the time. Omg, what a delight I’d been missing!
Stopped for lunch last week. My order I always love best, sushi with avocado on top, was ingeniously reconfigured to trap the slippery avocado betwixt the rice and the fish.
Such a simple twist, now eating my favorite thing just got 90% less complicated. Cheers to the chef!
Sophia, the good natured owner, is charming and makes her customers feel welcomed. A family establishment, they rocked me with an innovate menu, super fresh fish, and generous cuts. Top that off with Lovely sake\plum mix drink deliciousness, and you have the recipe for my new favorite sushi joint in the Valley.
Did I mention the green tea/​mochi ice cream concoction that felt like heaven in my mouth? Texture I never knew existed but now cannot live without experiencing again.
All in all, one of the coolest, most genuinely beyond good, and just straight up genuine places to pop up round this way in a while. Truly a new favorite.

Excellent service, very fresh & deliciously prepared sashimi & sushi for 2. Will definitely come back for another visit.

Great special rolls! Some unique combinations and every one we tried was delicious. Also, try the tempura cheesecake.

Amazing place! The staff is friendly, the sushi is beautiful, and the service is outstanding. I went there with some friends when it recently opened 2 weeks ago and food was cooked perfectly. Will be going there again definitely
