I’ve been hearing about this place and it’s around the corner. Plain but cool old house. Plain but cool interior. Exactly how I like my BBQ joints. No silver spoon needed here. Honest Q is all I care about. This place delivered. I had a two meat combo. Brisket and pork shoulder. Both juicy and excellent smoke ring. Tender too. The sides were Ranch beans and slaw. Also very good. Their homemade sauces were on point too.

We had a great time here. The dining area is pretty cozy and you get generous portions. The servers were really friendly, and the buttermilk pie was to DIE for. It tasted kind of like crème brûlée. It was amazing.

If you were wondering where the best barbecue in town(or nearby area) is, look no further. This place has their own smokehouse out back and it shows in the quality and freshness of their meats. The brisket is definitely the number one choice(well my number one choice) and their Cajun sausage is a very close second, and on some days even becomes my new number one. Most people may bypass the sausage thinking, Why would I waste time with sausage when I can get ribs?” but believe me, it melts in your mouth and will change your view on «boring ol’» sausage. As for the sides, my favorites are the Willie’s Chili Beans and the Mexican Cornbread(like regular cornbread but with onions and jalapeños!). Four sauce choices come to your table: Mild, Jalapeño, Cajun, and Cattleman. My favorites are the Jalapeño and Cattleman. The look of the place is a little country barn filled with memorabilia of Willies that are famous, like Willie Nelson. The service is top-notch. You can really tell the employees truly care about the food and level of barbecue that they are serving. If you want incredible BBQ, come here!

When it comes BBQ, my Daddy told me if you ever start off talking about sides, its best to pass the place up. Well this is not one of those places, although the the Buttermilk pie was the best I have ever had! We got the plate that had three choices of meat and got the chicken, beef briquette and pork shoulder. All was pretty good and the chicken dark meat surprised me on how moist it was. I was not impressed by the sides we had. The coleslaw was decent but the chili just did not taste right to me. Maybe it was a bad day? The staff was extra friendly and I would stop by again the next time I am in town.

It’s always a risk going for barbecue, but the reviews here and the Texas sign outside gave me hope. I was not disappointed. When the Sadlers left Texas, they remembered to bring the recipes with them. I wanted it all, so I ordered the Deluxe plate(3 meats) and chose the ribs, smoked chicken, and sausage, and then added on a chopped brisket sandwich for good measure. The platter came with three sides, the cole slaw, potato salad, and chili(ranch style) beans. Everything was on point and had just the right type and amount of seasoning and smoke. To put a ribbon on it, they serve Shiner Bock, the perfect compliment to Texas ‘cue. To finish off the visit, I found room for Miss Debbie’s carrot cake. Excellent choice. The service by Lauren was wonderful, and as a bonus, I got to meet Willie himself and talk a little’ cue! Simply put, you can’t go wrong here. I wish I was in town long enough to come back for lunch.

Best BBQ… I can’t believe in all my visits I’ve not done a review! I used to work in the area a couple time of year, last summer was visiting the kid in the area and had another great meal. DON’T FORGETDESSERT!!! The brownie pecan is OMFG good and the Peach Cobbler is better! (I’ve even called ahead when I knew I didn’t have time to stop, just to pick up a whole cobbler to take with me). It’s all good here… can’t wait for my next trip.

One of the best bbq we’ve ever tasted. Ribs were juicy and brisket had a nice smokey-ness to it. And the buttermilk pie… OMG! That was our reaction soon as we bit into the pie… It was that good. We wanted to go back before our flight back home to Los Angeles but we didn’t realize they close on every Sunday and Monday ;( So sad that we didn’t get to taste the ribs again… And take the whole buttermilk pie with us… Oh well. We are coming back for sure! Cons… Didn’t love their sauces though… Just saying
