The salad dressing is amazing and the chicken teriyaki is very good. The sushi is something that we will also go back for.

Horrible service! My daughters dish was served wrong and the Manager, who was serving as the waitress, was arguing with us that WE didn’t order correctly. She proceeded to maintain her position and then left our table and never came back. Apparently the owners are never present and she runs the place! Stay away and go to SHIO!!!

Went back and ordered the same meal I had before: hibachi dinner. Once again added a special instructions for extra dipping sauces. Waited a very long time for the food to be ready, brought it home, and found there were no dipping sauces! I called them assuming it was a mistake, but was told they no longer offer dipping sauces with their hibachi because they«go bad too quickly.» Without the sauce, it was just oily and sugary ingredients with little flavor. They’re welcome to change their menu — but if someone makes a *specific request* that they can’t fulfil, you would think they would contact you to let you know that you’re going to be paying for a meal you don’t want.

We loved Domo! It’s situated in what looks like an old two-story house, so it has dining space on both floors. This creates an issue for the servers who have to sprint up the stairs with platters of food, and then sprint down to fill more orders. We needed an air traffic controller on the staircase, as I had a near miss with a guy hauling a huge tray of stuff to the second floor as I was leaving. I started off with a good sized glass of Gekkeikan Plum Wine. It was delicious and quite a nice deal for just $ 5.95. We both went for a Maki Combo. Maki«A» ran $ 14.50 for a California roll, tuna roll and salmon roll. Maki«C» ran $ 17.50 for a Spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll and spicy yellowtail roll. Both dinners included a cup of miso soup and a salad. The miso and salad are often forgettable at a Japanese restaurant, but these were not. The miso was wonderful, as good as I can remember. Lots of flavor, somewhat thicker and richer than usual, and piping hot. It scored high points across the board. The salad was great too. Super fresh and super cold romaine, a few sprinkles of field greens, a cuke slice, a cherry tomato, and some shredded carrot in a tasty ginger dressing. The sushi was amazing! Three rolls with 18 pieces of perfect sushi. I loved it. Dinner ran forty one bucks after tax and before tip. It was a great meal in a very cool place. Nicely done, Domo!

The food is decent but I would not recommend as a sit down place. The place is kind of cold and does not fit into the downtown atmosphere. If you do eat here I would recommend sitting at one of the 2 tables downstairs. Downstairs you can still feel connected to the town, otherwise get it to go.

What a FANTASTIC first experience — my husband and I decided to go to Domo for his birthday Linner(some people do Sunday Brunch, we do Sunday Linner) and were so very pleased with the service and food! We ordered a sushi loveboat for two(comes with two miso soups and two house salads, FYI) and a large pitcher of cold sake. The sushi was delicious — decently sized portions, not soggy or frozen — just the perfect fresh temperature and cut(s). After we annihilated the sushi boat and sake, we sat stuffed and happy — patiently waiting for our check. A few minutes later, some members of the staff came out with fried ice cream dessert with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a candle on top — all for my husband! We never even told them it was his birthday — our server noted his birth date on his license when he checked our IDs for sake. What a sweet and pleasant surprise!!! So, if you’re looking for an establishment that truly understands and cares about service AND food — go to Domo. There is, hands down, no other sushi establishment in the area that has prices, service, or sushi, that compares to what we experienced today. So many good things. Thanks for such a wonderful lunch/dinner and experience — we have always heard good things about Domo from our friends and we’re so glad we stopped by for the first time today! We will definitely be returning!

I love it here! All I have gotten is sushi and sashimi but I’ve been twice and it was great.

My sister & I went here for dinner last night. Def worth the 5 stars. By far some of the best sushi, interesting & fresh & their house special rolls are truly unique. And we consider ourselves sushi connoisseurs having gone to sushi restaurants wherever we go. I had a wonderful cold sake, my sister had well made Kettle one & sodas The service was very attentive and friendly. One of my favorite things on top off all the wonderful food was the new décor. Very fun and pretty lighting. The bar was remade with a great changing color — no idea what the material was, almost looked like marble, bar face. Delightful all around — highly recommend. They’re definitely going to give the others area sushi restaurants a run for their money.

Domo, dozo, whatever the name. The food is great, the menu is great, the service is enthusiastic and professional, and the prices keep me coming back a couple times a month. Online ordering actually works. So does calling in a pick up order the old fashioned way by phone. My pick up order is always correct and packaged with care. Dining in works too. Whether for an intimate dinner as a couple, or as a group in need of great food with a night of drinks, this place works for both. But it’s the food really, that makes the place worth going to and keep going to. The maitai is yummy, the service is smiley, but it’s the consistent quality of fresh ingredients and skill in the kitchen and sushi bar that matter, whatever the name is.

A solid sushi place with great ambience and staff. The signature rolls are delicious. Our favorite between the dynamite, King Kong, triple three and lion king was… King Kong. Sapporo on draft was crisp and refreshing. We had our soy sauce with wasabi ready for dipping but the flavor from each roll was so good, it was a shame to mask it with the soy sauce.

The first 2 take out orders were really good, the 2 dine in experiences were pretty good, the last 3 takeouts were not good. Warm sushi, not-good flavors, even the philly roll wasn’t great. I know they can do a great job, but maybe takeout just doesn’t get the attention. Such a shame, they are really nice and very prompt(both dining in and taking away).

They went above and beyond to make up for the incorrect order. It was unnecessary, but I really appreciated the good customer service. Update to my update: second order was also wrong :(I give up

This is a review of the sushi bar. I really liked that atmosphere and the food, and I think Domo could give Shio some competition but the little things still need some attention. There was a roll of paper towels on the sushi bar that looked like someone forgot to but the cleaning stuff away, but it was there on purpose & the chefs used it regularly. Please find a place for it that’s out of sight. The microwave ovens beep loudly behind the sushi bar all the time, it ruins the mood. And I really wish the sashimi lunch included yellowtail. The good things? Just about everything else. The sushi bar looks really nice, the staff is great, everything is clean, the fish is fresh and tasty, and low-sodium soy sauce is easy to find. I’ll be back, I want to try a few more things and I can see myself upgrading my rating to 5 stars. Domo is the best thing to happen to this location since the restaurant Victory was here. They’ve done wonders with the space and I wish they had been here when I lived in Portsmouth!

The food was good. Parking kind of a harsh, because you have find parking on the street, so good luck with that. The staff was outstanding, gave me some recommendations. The place was cozy. If you want privacy, this place is good. The sushi was good, fresh and delicious.
