Not a thing to complain about! The location is on point, the service was great, food was better and their bar isn’t too shabby either. I was here for a family gathering and out of all of us, no one had anything but great things to say. Everyone was more than impressed with their dishes. I think the prices are right where they should be. Not too high, but not too low. You’re getting exactly what you pay for. The portions were big. You definitely won’t be going home hungry. I believe all but one(myself), had leftovers to bring home. I don’t think you can really complain about that! I don’t really venture to Portsmouth, New Hampshire very often, but if I did/do, I’ll be coming back here. I’d most definitely recommend it.

I didn’t find the food as impressive as posts lead me to believe. I thought it was expensive for just okay food. Salty.

I had the drunken chicken– a bit salty, but great flavor. Fresh spring rolls were very tasty. Menu posted on side walk is a bit tacky, but inside is nice.

Good food, good area, good service. We tried this spot for late afternoon lunch. The place was quite & empty which we liked after a nice afternoon at Strawbery Banke Museum. We ordered spring rolls, green curry and red curry. The food tasted well and satisfied my hungry stomach :). The place gets crowded in the evening during weekends, so plan your dinner accordingly. If you are looking for succulent thai food, this restaurant is worth trying, I will defenitly go this place when I visit the nearby area next time.

Decent thai food. Not bad. Had the drunken noodles, chicken wings, and pineapple fried rice. Picked up food to go, don’t forget to grab the utensils by the door! We got regular drunken noodle, and I guess that comes super super spicy, so beware. And I’m a girl that can eat spicy food no problem.(and by that I can eat raw jalapeño or wasabi or even the spicy papaya salad) The pineapple fried rice was good, nothing that stood out to me. Out of everything, I like the basic chicken wings(appetizer) the most dipped in the sweet sauce. Enjoy!

Great Thai experience! We loved the chicken cup appetizer and both our meals. The service was friendly and our wait was shorter than expected. Cute gem in Portsmouth!

I’ve eaten a lot of thai food in my day and this ranks pretty highly. Really yummy. A bit on the steep side, but what isn’t in Portsmouth? Definitely my fave in the area.

I’m shocked. A Thai restaurant in the Seacoast that I actually like? Well, the pad Thai anyway. The help is good, friendly. The calamari had just the right level of breadiness, so you could still taste the squid. The pad Thai was fresh. I mean really fresh. I haven’t ordered it in about 15 years as I usually go for Pad-See-Yu chicken. Enjoyed it. I’ll be returning. I really should give it five stars, but I’m stingy. Quite good!

No change from prior notes. OK, nothing special. Not a great deal, just average but adequate.

I usually try to remember to take a photo of my food before digging in. But my hunger level went from«I’m-hungry» to «I’m-dying-from-starvation» after waited over an hour for the food to come out that taking out my phone and finding the right angle to take the perfect food shot was the last thing on my mind. With that being said, I guess I’ll start with the negative — the service was absurdly slow!!! 15 minutes for someone to come over(without greeting us) to fill our water glasses. 20 minutes for someone to come over to take our food & drink orders. Then 30 minutes for the appetizer to come out, and another 30 – 40 for our main entrees. I even skipped my beloved Mango Sticky Rice dessert cause who knows how long that’d take! By the way this was on a late Sunday night(8:00pm) and the restaurant was half empty. Food? Nothing to write home about. I had the Deluxe Pad Thai which was good but I thought it was a bit overpriced for pad thai at $ 15.95 especially with a «kid’s size portion». It came with chicken, shrimp and tofu. Chicken and tofu were both a bit dry. I did enjoy the shrimp but wish there were more than just 3 pieces. Will I return? Maybe to try their Mango Sticky Rice if I’m really craving it. But then again the thought of the tedious wait time might just dismiss that craving.

Very nice staff, super clean place. The food was served quick and they refill your water throughout your meal. The menu is small but has many different options if you really read the detail. The food was delicious!

First time at 5Thai Bistro and I was very impressed. Started the meal with Tom Yum Soup with chicken and also a cup of wonton soup. Both soups were outstanding. Very clean and crisp favors. Perfect for a cold December day. We added an order of spring rolls with spicy sauce. They were very good. The spicy chicken entrée was also excellent, but I had to ask for additional child’s to get the heat I was looking for. The larp gai was very spicy and right on target. It seems to me they play it safe on the spice, so be prepared to add more if that is your preference. One minor comment, most Thai restaurants will offer the four condiment assortment … Heat, spice, sweet, and sour. However, 5 Thai only offers a chili pepper paste. On an overall basis, the food has been tweaked to an American-Thai version to be more accepted by the locals. This is definitely not what I have experienced in Thailand but the food is outstanding and prepared with precision.

Simply put, this restaurant is fantastic. My entire family love the food and I find the prices to be very reasonable for downtown Portsmouth. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but it is worth a long walk if you need to park on the outskirts of town. If you love Thai food, I would strongly encourage you to give this restaurant a try.

This place was just amazing! It was the best Thai food I have ever had and worth every penny. Call and make sure you make a reservation before you go, if you do you will be quickly seated. We started off with mango juice and Thai iced coffee, wow! So good, must have! For our entrees I had the spicy chicken cashew nut and I asked for a little less spicy and I pretty much cleared my plate. My boyfriend order the BBQ pork plate and he enjoyed his dish too. Overall, you need to eat here when you visit Portsmouth, NH. I would say the only downfall is they needed a couple more staff members. It was reasonable priced for two entrees, an appetizer and two drinks was around 50 bucks.

Best Thai that we have ever had in Portsmouth or the east cost for that matter. The wait staff is really friendly and the ambiance is elegant. The specials are worth a try. The pad Thai is light as is the coconut soup.

This place continues to be a favorite in Portsmouth. The softshel crab with coconut curry is sublime. Crazy noodle is my wifes fave. Some say its expensive but the fresh veggies and fish make a huge difference in flavor. Staff and service are the best !!!

Service is amazing. Nick, our server, couldn’t be any nicer or more accomodating. Their Pad Thai is now officially the best in the seacoast. The lunch deals cannot be beat. We keep returning and plan to try a litlle bit from each section on the menu. So far no misses. Can’t wait to try the duck!

My wife and I stopped here to eat ! Wow what a great life much we had, service was outstanding. The waiter did not hover but was extremely attentive to us. The music is in the back ground, very pleasant, not intrusive at all. We started lunch with a salad, with ginger sauce, with a dumpling. My wife and I split the appetizer and meal. The appetizer was crispy cups, with a cucumber sauce, delicious! The main dish for lunch was Deluxe Pad Thai, with shrimp and scallops! We split this lunch and we had more than enough, everything was just Outstanding! When I thought about the great food, that was only $ 10.99 for the meal, and a few more dollars for the appetizers, wow how can you beat this place? The Resturant was clean, well decorated, neat, and pleasant. I highly recommend this resturant . I can’t wait to go back and try other plates out.
