Absolutely delicious and always fresh! Not huge portions but just enough to be filling and leave you feeling great.

Best falafel wrap EVER! The falafel was perfect. I usually don’t like eggplant but it was delicious and not slimy at all. Yummmmmmm

My humans took me to this vegetarian cart today. We shared the falafel and olea wrap(I didn’t even get my own, can you believe that??) anyways, both were pretty tasty. The one exception was that I wasn’t too crazy about the Gorgonzola in the olea but that could just be personal preference. If you come here, please take me with you!

What’s up with the bad attitude ladies? Foods good. Asked for extra green sauce on the side. Didn’t get it. Did get a lot of attitude when I politely asked for it. Even with a generous tip. WTF.

Wish I could give more than just 5 stars. I saw this place on Unilocal sometime back and been wanting to try it! Finally we hit the spot on a Sunday afternoon. In a cozy spot on the Mississippi Avenue, the cart even had Shaded seating. We took one of each and a Lemonade The star of the day was the OLEA! It was wow! The caramelized onions the walnuts together with the soft falafel, the dish was myriad of flavors!!! Loved it The sabich had eggs potato and some magic sauces which was pretty good The out to lunch along with harissa was worth a try. So was the falafel wrap. The falafel by itself was soft and flavorful! The Lemonade was right amount of sweet and tangy in a cute bottle! Must must try. A great gem on the Mississippi!

I was looking for a recommendation for some quick food before I had to head to work, and this is what I found. I had never had a falafel before and I think I’ll be disappointed by the next one I try since this one was so amazing. Definitely exceeded my expectations. And it was vegan, which is always a plus since I avoid dairy.

Totally loved the Olea! Super flavorful and worth the try. The salad had the perfect combination of things I loved-nuts, labneh, flavorful grilled veggies, roasted peppers and that Gorgonzola cheese! It has a nice benches to sit and eat too. I liked not having to stand and eat or sit on the street.

for starters, I never use to like falafel; they have always been dry and flavorless crusty balls topped with heavy sauces to re-hydrate them. so imagine my surprise once I tried a wolf & bear’s falafel sandwich. my entire theory of what falafel balls can be was changed with my very first bite! the foods]: the traditional falafel is so so good. warm falafel, topped with grilled onions, roasted red peppers, grilled eggplant, greens and tahini sauce all while resting on hummus and wrapped in a warm and fluffy pita bread. my personal favorite sandwich is the olea; falafel, lebneh, gargonzola crumbles, carmelized onions, red peppers, resting on some greens and a fluffy pita bread as well. final touches]: to add a little more zip I tend to add grilled jalapeño’s, and potatoes to any sandwich, it’s a very small up charge but worth it and always always take the pickles when offered. their in-house green sauce is excellent, fresh, with a tad of heat to the back end that makes every sandwich top notch. I can’t remember the name of it. I asked the last person i ordered from, the name of said sauce, so that i could write it down and said person gave me a dead-pan punk answer, telling me it was chimichurri… i replied,“really, so we’re a south american cart now?” i was not amused. be kind, i guarantee half of your customers know a thing or two about food, we are in portland for crying out loud. your sandwiches are fresh, made to order, and have a following of their own, be less rude.

It was busy, which was a good sign. Misha served an amazing Olea that was hearty and turned into two meals for me. This is the spot for a quick, healthy, and all around awesome meal. I was impressed by the quality of the service and food. I will be going back and I’m certain I will bring friends.

These might just be the best falafel I’ve ever had! If you like olives and gorgonzola cheese(and if you don’t, I don’t know if we can be friends) get the Olea with two falafel added. It is the perfect mix of interesting flavors and textures, and is so healthy and filling at the same time! Best. Lunch. Ever.

This is one hell of a vegetarian food truck with some great tasting cousine. I ordered the Falafel with hummus, eggplants, caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, parsley, falafel and greens with a delish tahini sauce. The eggplant reallllly set this sandwich apart, it was such a great add on. The homemade pita bread is INCREDIBLE. I want to try everything on the menu. Very timely also, and there are great picnic tables to eat at if you choose to stay, or take it to go. They even honor gluten-free in using sprouted garbanzo beans. Just a lovely family-owned business!

The falafel hunter finds its prey! I’m a sucker for a falafel. It’s pretty much my favorite food and as a vegetarian it’s very hard to go wrong with this Middle Eastern wonder food. I’ve had very good and very bad falafel. Wolf and Bear’s ranks up there with the very best… and it’s a food cart! Went here with my foodie buddy. First off, the menu is short and sweet, and kept veggie, so you can be assured there’s no cross contamination from any meat. It’s all Israeli style, so there will be minor differences than some are used to but they are amazing choices you won’t find many places and gives you a chance to try something new. I mean where else will you find an Iraqi Jewish breakfast sandwich? Their falafel sandwich comes uniquely wrapped in a stellar pita with grilled eggplant, hummus, roasted red peppers, fresh mesculin salad mix, and a slew of other things I’m forgetting. The falafel itself is the real star, and grade A. No dry mix here, it’s green garlicky goodness and you get your money’s worth. $ 7 gets you a sandwich and it doesn’t disappoint. What a great find. It’s tucked away in a small courtyard just up from Failing and Mississippi. Luckily they have it all to themselves, and you can take your time at one of their picnic tables and not feel crammed in with several food trucks all giving you the stink eye for not eating at their place. Plus they have a portable bathroom just behind them which makes a nice touch you don’t have everywhere. Well thought out Wolf and Bear! You more than passed the test for this reviewer and unabashed falafel hunter!!!

Had the falafel sandwich which was fine. Honestly can’t remember much other than I wanted to steal the chili sauce from the table next to me but didn’t want to ask them so I ate my wrap on the bland side. Saving grace is that it’s a nice spot with outdoor picnic tables and the people watching and dog watching is great.

A sure bet and this location is no different. It’s set up in its own little area and in a hungry feral state I came here and called upon the totems of satiation. Yes, Wolf & Bear heard my call and rising up on their hind legs they answered. Fully answered. I enjoyed my falafel and the pickles. I enjoyed the service and even the fact that they could somehow hear me over my hungry tummy rumbles. They called my name and presented me with falafel that was both crispy and moist. The circle is kept intact.

This small little restaurant is worth the stop! My wife and I had been drinking nice coffees all morning and we’re starting to feel a little dehydrated and hungry. Mediterranean sounded like a great option instead of something heavy and full of fat. The owner was really nice. Because they only could make us one falafel without a wait, they waived the .50 card fee. After my wife and I shared and finished the falafel, I ordered a second one. The owner then said, because I waited, she’d give me the happy hour price. It was 2:25 and happy hour didn’t start until 3. So, I got a second great falafel wrap for $ 5. The falafel tastes great! All the flavors come together really well. Definitely worth it!

I’m a meat-a-holic, but I didn’t miss the protein here. Absolute wonderful sign! I got the«Out to Lunch» wrap which includes a slew of ingredients including three stars in my opinion: labneh(creamy cheese made from cultured yogurt), gorgonzola crumbles, and falafel. What I loved was the Labneh. It had a nice, creamy texture that added an extra layer of moisture necessary to bind everything together — really similar to sour cream. But better. The falafel was so moist as well, not dry or dusty at all… something tells me I’ve had gross falafel balls in my past? And the odd little non-feta touch was the Gorgonzola — which I could do without, I found, despite our love with one another. Some bites the cheese was so welcome, while others I just wanted the falafel to be the star. But I’m not complaining, the wrap was perfect all around. I’m really glad after a couple to few years of ‘meaning tos’, I made a date with Wolf & Bear.

I was in Portland for a limited number of days and I managed to come here for two meals. I think that in itself says something. The roadside snack is honestly all you need to for a filling meal. It holds me off until dinnertime. And that’s really something because I usually get hungry every few hours. The roadside snack is only around $ 7 and you can choose between eggplant, bellpeppers, onions, mushroom, etc. I went for the eggplant and onions once and eggplant and mushroom the next. Love how the ingredients just TASTED fresh and was full of veggies. It’s located in between two buildings. It’s kind of a cart that stands by itself, which explains why it doesn’t get much traffic. Don’t judge something by its cover, though! Give it a try. The water is self serve right next to the order window and try the green sauce! They usually take around 10 minutes after you order to get the food to you because they grill/stir-fry everything for you right then and there.

Vegetarian Middle Eastern. They make a mean wrap. Grilled vegetables, mixed greens and their sauces. The combination is just fantastic. I’m not a vegetarian per set but if I eat like this everyday, I may be convinced to switch.

Not your typical falafel, Wolf & Bear’s will outdo them all. This falafel bursts with flavor, leaving me sad after eating it only to realize it’s all gone. I’m not big on vegetarian/vegan food as it is jut not my thing, but I was very satisfied with the flavors of this sandwich. The falafel wasn’t the typical ball shapes crisps, but was shaped into thick little discs… didn’t really change much, but hey, just pointing that out, so don’t be surprised. Other than that, they take your typical falafel… the hummus, the onions, and add more. I love eggplant, and adding grilled eggplant and roasted red peppers was just the touch it needed. Why don’t every other falafel constructor else adapt this beautiful technique? I’ll have to try more off their menu. Any recommendations???
