Everything was excellent; it’s unquestionably worth trying. I had the Mac&Cheese, cream soup, and«Lazarus», which was uniquely delicious.

Love the ambiance and service — both were great! I also LOVE that dogs are allowed on the enclosed porch. We came in around 7:00pm on a Saturday and put our names on this wait list. Because we were willing to sit at the bar it was only a ten minute wait or so. I ordered the tacos which were okay but probably not the best choice. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

A great experience from the moment we walked in. The hostess was attentive and friendly. I asked if the enclosed patio or dining room was warmer and she pulled a table up next to the fireplace and situated my chair directly in front of it. Awesome! The food was very tasty and came out in a timely manner. We had the biscuits and jam appetizer, along with the salmon cakes and entrees. The biscuits were some of the best I’ve ever had and they gave us 6 free ones before we left(I guess they have to throw them away at the end of the night). The salmon cakes were good, and honestly they taste so good that there is no need for the sauce they put on top. Maybe put it on the side for people that want to use it as a dip? The patio fully enclosed and heated in the winter. It’s also dog friendly and I can’t wait to try it out during the summer months!

Upon my travels I looked to the Tin Shed to satiate my hunger, the breakfast selection appeared quite appetizing. After a few minutes of pondering my options, I decided the«Good Dog» stack and a lemonade would be an appropriate choice. My quest began here… Food: 5⁄5 The flavor of the eggs and the perfect crunch of the potato cakes were complimented greatly by delicate chipotle aioli and southwest flavors presented by this dish. In contention with one of the best southwest scrambles I’ve ever had(I’ve been to Arizona) Service: 4⁄5 Upon arrival we found ourselves waiting at the host stand longer than necessary considering that there were tables readily available. Although the establishment lost points for this mishap, the service from our food servant was more than satisfactory. He was kind, gracious, and our food was delivered in a timely manner. The wait was minimal. The splitting of the bill was painless. Kudos server, kudos indeed. Price: 3⁄5 Although it’s understandable to pay $ 10+ for a scramble, I think the serving sizes left some to be desired. The $ 3.50 for a single serving of lemonade bordered on blasphemy. A refill or two would have been sufficient. Atmosphere: 3⁄5 The inside dining area was cramped and the covered patio area was plagued by a yapping mutt. I was even witness to a near dogfight between a large mastiff and another dog. Michael Vick would have been proud. Ultimately this is no environment for that kind of activity. I was in town for only a day and was lucky enough to stumble upon the Tin Shed. Breakfast was AWESOME, had the special of potato cakes covered in eggs with chorizo sausage gravy and a biscuit, great little place, wish I lived closer.

We heard about this play on DD&D and recently moved back Vancouver, so we decided to cross over into Portland to try it out. Glad that the wait wasn’t bad for a Friday. We were seated within a couple of minutes on their very clean and comfortably heated patio in January. We never felt worried that our 15-month-old would be too cold out there. Family-friendly and dog-friendly. We loved seeing all the dogs, and the staff were so welcoming and friendly with dogs and babies. They even keep a couple of toddler-friendly toys on hand, which kept our girl occupied. Their kids’ menu has good selections and is reasonably priced. Other places charge you up to $ 7 for a kids’ meal. We paid $ 7 for two dishes for our daughter, and she loved it. Of course, I’d probably eat my peas and carrots if I put cream and cheese on them, lol! Okay, on to adult food. We arrived during Happy Hour, so we enjoyed a few HH items: burger, Mac of the day; biscuit board. All well executed and delicious. The burger patty was nice and juicy. I ordered the Heartless Artichoke and loved it. So good. I felt full, but not gross. We plan to come back again and bring our dog. Great place, great staff, great food.

I can’t believe I’ve been here several times and never written a review! I’ll keep it short and sweet: 1) Like most good places in Portland expect a wait of at least 30 minutes on the weekends. I recommend the weekdays where it’s quieter and more relaxing. 2) The food: Delicious and plenty of it! It’s not the most creative stuff but the biscuits and gravy are my favorite. Skip the lattes with flavor– I tried an almond one and it tasted like someone dumped the bottle into it, disgusting. 3) Reasonably priced and great for dog owners. I love seeing all the cute dogs there and they have complementary blankets for seating outside which is a nice touch.

Went here for brunch recently. I appreciated the self serve coffee while we were waiting for a seat. This was my first time visiting portland and this place screams Portland loud and clear. I had the special: pancakes with bacon a gruyère sauce and gravy and eggs which was good. the only reason I am not giving this place five stars is because of the fruit that accompanied the special. One of the grapes was rotten and the granny smith apple was mealy. I would go here again, a solid brunch spot!

Great food and drinks here, day or night. Its busy at times, for good reason. Gluten free and vegetarian options. Service is prompt and friendly. A nice place for brunch and happy hour. They infuse their own vodkas and tequilas and make many food items in house. This is a good bet for a great meal on Alberta Street.

So, here’s the thing about Tin Shed … the food is yum, the vibe is Portland, and the side room is dog friendly. The bar is small and the draft beer & wine selection smaller, but we still found a couple drinks to enjoy. Tin Shed is definitely less of a bar than it is a casual local restaurant with friends. Don’t expect anything fancy cause Tin Shed is comfy. We started with a Mini Mac-o-the-Day($ 9) for some cheesy pasta and a bowl of Roasted Brussel Sprouts made modern thanks to Bacon. Another cool discovery was the Creamy Polenta for some creamy carbs. A «must order» we tried was the Buttermilk Biscuit Board($ 6.50) with a pair of thick ‘n heavy Portland-style Biscuits that were filling though not flaky. To round out our yummy meal, we split a San Fran Grilled Sandwich($ 12) with Chicken, Bacon, Green Apple and Blue Cheese. So, here’s the thing about Tin Shed … I really liked it and will be back.

Lots of love for this place already so let me be brief: 1.Dog friendly 1a.They welcome dogs in their«patio” — an enclosed, heated area that some may consider more inviting than the normal restaurant 1b.There is a(small) menu for our pup pups 2.burger –quickly Unilocal«au cheval» and«Chicago». Now read the reviews of their burger… which are all the reviews –this burger comes very close, though the meat tastes«healthier» according to the BF. Likely bc their burger patty isn’t cooked in lard. –I had the veggie patty and it was still delicious ***pro tip: ask for a fried egg on the burger 3.We will definitely return.

Tin Shed has been on my Portland food bucket list for the past few years and I’m glad I finally got to dine here. I ordered the breakfast special of the day, which was a scramble with bacon, leeks, tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms all atop a potato cake. The whole thing was smothered in gravy and served with a biscuit. I definitely should not have eaten the whole thing in one sitting(because I had a massive food coma afterward) but I couldn’t stop because it was just so good. I also ordered the mimosa with oj, pineapple, and passion fruit juice — it was delicious! I’ll definitely be back for more soon!

Amazing covered pet/human area! Huge portions explaining the little bit steeper than anticipated pricing. I would expect these prices back in Vegas but not in Portland lol Get the Bloody Mary with their own infused pepper vodka($ 8.50). I got it extra spicy and it was perfect. The pickled green garnish was tasty. It’s worth every cent and I’m a bloody Mary snob after living in Vegas for 6 yrs lol I got the good dog(it was brunch time) and that sh*t was on point! Jam packed with flavor and stuffed with sausage like Brokeback Mountain III. It was a little on the salty side but that could’ve been from the sausage? I think it was even gluten free, whatever that means. I really liked the diced jalapenos as well. I got it served over potato patties(i think they were called). They were crispy and good. Was hungry and was only able to finish half of my dish. The wife got… she forgets the name but it was eggs stuff and smothered in a mushroom white gravy(which I’m never a fan of). It had tasty ass garlic cloves and she really enjoyed it and said it was packed with flavor. Our friend had the Cobb salad which I believe was a steep $ 15 but after it came out you quickly realized you’re getting what you pay got. This salad is HUGE. It was stacked with bacon and think it came with a while egg sliced up. This establishment is great, friendly and really cool that they offer complimentary water and during brunch complimentary tea and coffee as well. Our server was very attentive but made sure to not be over bearing. We needed the bill split in two and he didn’t even bay a lash upon our request. We will definitely be back for another meal here. Might split a dish though per their portions records

I have only eaten breakfast here. Over and over and over. Because although it’s nothing fancy, it’s really good. You’re going to wait in line an average of 30 – 40 minutes, unless you love early mornings(which I don’t) and want to show up at 8:30am. If you do, you won’t have to stand in the rain outside. Plus side is that while you wait, they offer you coffee and tea. What do I like to eat here? Everything. Any dish with fried or scrambled eggs, a meat option with cheese and hash browns is always damn good. Their vegetarian options are just as tasty. Oh, and order the Belly Pleaser — jasmine vanilla coconut rice with mango chunks and cinnamon. It’s one of my favorite treats. This casual restaurant is literally covered in tin on the outside. Super cool. And they have a partially enclosed patio seating area where folks are allowed to have their dogs and can even order special menu items for their pets. Heads up in case dogs freak you out. Personally, I love them. Eat here. You won’t be sad.

Service here is spectacular! Our family ate dinner here after an unsuccessful attempt to dine at Gracias Madre(their staff was out on a beach vacation… I WANTIN!). We were kind of bummed, but Tin Shed really brought our spirits up with their kindness, home-styled foods, and rustic vibes. It was a cold night, and we were that annoying tourist family that requested to sit by the fireplace outdoors. They didn’t have any indoor spots available. I loved the space. Our super sweet host told us that blankets were available should we need them – that’s quality service in the ears of Californians. Our server was a tall down-to-earth boy who checked on us at the right times. We enjoyed some pints of local beer and literally licked clean all of our plates. Their food is veggie-friendly and there are options for everyone from burgers to salads. Tin Shed is also dog-friendly in the patio(and they offer dog desserts too!) and such a comfort-feel space. This place is a great place for family night or even for a chill date.

I really enjoyed the Tin Shed for breakfast. I got the Goat Boy scramble made with egg whites, which was alright. I found the ratio of sun dried tomatoes to other ingredients to be way too high, but that’s simply my palate. I enjoyed their cheese grits, they were thick, cheesy and not too watery. The potato cake was yummy but if you have a gluten allergy I’d skip it, as there is definitely some cross contamination going on with that. I also got a fruit cup, which was a bit small for $ 3 but I dont mind because the fruit was perfect, especially the blueberries. My husband got the gluten free french toast which is made with GF callah bread and served with syrup and pear cinnamon compote. He really enjoyed it. He also reports that the coffee(which was self serve) was pretty good. I havent tried lunch here, but I’d go again for breakfast! A good place to bring your friends.

This is without a doubt the best restaurant I visited while in Portland. Food was UNBELIEVABLY good. Service, atmosphere, and pricing was also great. Arrived on Thursday for happy hour. Open air patio with a very chill vibe. Sat down at a table and was greeted by a friendly waiter. Ordered the fish tacos. Spectacular. Two good sized tacos swimming with flavor. Fresh pico de gallo with a nice sauce, lime on the side. Fish was tender and meaty. Then followed up with a cup of soup. No exaggeration, it was one of the best soups I’ve ever had in my life. Corn chowder with andouille sausage and potatoes. Wow… so delicious I don’t even know what else to say. Incredibly rich, I should’ve got a bowl. All of that was $ 8.75. I returned the next day for more. Got the Big Hit pork sausage burrito with cheese grits and hash browns. Another stunning meal. The burrito had some eggs and basil pesto in there with garlic, along with other ingredients. Oh man, so good! The hash browns were fantastic as were the grits. Hash browns had a creamy type spread on top, not sure what it was but it worked to perfection. Overall, this place rocks and I wish I could come back every day for the rest of my life.
