I walked up to the cutest stand today. The sweetest little couple were cleaning their little stove with smiles from ear to ear. These people love what they do. They truly have a gift! I got the spicy Russian which, was to die for! Add fried onions. The food is fantastic, but the conversation is what was truly my favorite. They are such kind souls and I enjoyed every minute of my lunch. There’s a cute little sitting area or you can take it to go. If you have the time, get to know them you won’t regret it. I can’t wait to come back again.

This place is a new find and a must return. The food is flown in from the east coast including Dr. Brown soda, Wise brand chips, even the pickles and sauerkraut. But the meat, oh my, the pastrami is authentic NY Deli and just melts in your mouth. It is a small taste of home and the best I’ve had in Oregon since Produce Row changed chefs/shut down.

Stellar NY style dogs, sandwiches and burgers right in the heart of the Industrial district. The elderly couple running this place are extremely friendly and have a steady clientele that keep coming for their workday lunches. I got the moussa, which is a feast of pastrami, fried onions, swiss and their superb spicy russian sauce on an onion roll. Their pastrami is top notch, probably the best I’ve had in pdx. I wish this cart were open on weekends, or at least till later in the evenings on weekdays, I’ll have to wait till my next weekday holiday before I get to try them again!

This place… It’s like a cross between a food cart and storefront. Neat atmosphere. Enough with pansy topics… the food was great! I got the moussa. It was hearty and everything blended together not overpowering each other. The meat and rolls are very New York/Jersey, he gets it right. The owners were great people as well. We talked baseball for a bit. Wonderful all American style joint. Highly recommended.

These guys kill it on the grill. They’re an awesome couple from NY, big NY fans and they know how to do it the NY way. Get a burger here! Fresh right there in front of your face. Their place is attached to a produce company so you know the additional fixings are fresh. They also have their bread delivered from the Beaverton bakery! And they are the nicest people around. Stopping here is a must whenever you’re near the industrial district.

The ultimate dive! Hard to find and hardly ever open. But the freaking sandwiches are amazing. I highly recommend the onion roll on whatever sandwich you choose. The dogs are good but skip them and get a sandwich or 2!

I seriously don’t understand all of the speculator reviews for this place. To be fair, we only tried the hot dogs, which were probably the wrong things to order. We needed a quick place to grab lunch on our way from Seattle to a friend’s wedding outside of Portland. I did a Unilocal search and came across this place. We ordered the«Almost» Chicago and Spicy Slaw Dog. They were just pretty average, but fairly pricey($ 5+) for their size. I wish the buns were different, as they were not good and the dogs slipped out halfway through. Moreover, the dogs themselves were average, nothing to write home about. The owners were very nice and offered us a taste of the pastrami, which was great, and I instantly regretted ordering the hot dogs. I used to live near Katz, so I know a thing or two about good pastrami. Anyway, if I have to base this place purely on the hot dogs alone, it’s between 1 – 2 stars.

Delicious! Their meats are blissful. The pastrami was like eating bacon! Only juicy non-crispy tender bacon. The Russian sauce added a nice tang to the sandwich but it was not too heavy either. The space is a bit utilitarian, but it gave off the sense that it was purposely done in such a way. The sandwich did seem a tad small, but I couldn’t tell whether it was because of the actual size, or because it was so delicious when hot that I gobbled it down so quickly. Parking was a pain to find in the neighborhood though, and I had to circle the block a few times, but it was well worth the trip.

The best pastrami sandwiches ever. The meat is delivered daily from New York and it is amazing. So much flavor. And the all red meat hotdogs are awesome. Definitely a must go place in Portland.

Everything is great here. Just go, unless your an overly sensitive Red Sox fan. Super casual and laid back. If you like authentic Reuben’s and dogs made with high quality meat and a bit of NYC attitude this is the place.

Like Kip Dynamite said, in his inimitable, aw-shuck-sy way, when Uncle Rico side-arm slung a steak halfway over a mountain, hitting Napolean dead in the face: «THAT’s what I’m talking about.» Amazing pastrami here, why go to a NY-deli-style place and have anything BUT the pastrami?!? Such tender, thick, succelent strips marinaded w/obvious TLC. Spicy Russian? Check! Rachel w/the cool slaw? Check!!! Moussa w/an insane amount of tender, perfectly seasoned meat? In keeping w/the Yankee theme, they oughta rename this place«Class of ’27», coz this is straight up Murderer’s Row right here in Portland. See, Kenny and Zuke’s? You can serve the people beautiful NY-style Reubens galore, and not charge such heinous prices! and have at you, nearby Montage! How dare you show your pretentious, over-wrought faces in public, w/such an obviously superior talent right next door? Murderer’s Row, y’all. I’m tellin’ you what…

Stopped by on a recommendation from a Thai food truck down the street, must be good right?! John is the real deal, he and his wife are from New York and damn proud of this, as all New Yorkers are. After asking what I should try John tells me I must try his pastrami as he gets it from… you guessed it… New York! A young guy eating at a table tells me to try the Moussa, I ask«why?» He says«I’m Moussa». Must be good right?! ridiculously good. Perfect pastrami, grilled onions and Joe’s secret spicy mayo! Will I be back, you’re damn right I will.

My last review still stands, but they have such good food they deserve a 5 star from here out! They try to go fast, but sometimes you have to wait for good food. Thank you.

Besides for being Yankees fans this place is alright. We smelled the food from around the corner and decided to give this place a go. It’s not quite a food stand, rather it’s in an old corner shop that looks like it used to be a mechanics’ bay. It’s filthy. And on this day it was cold. Two folks were working, an older couple I deemed to be married(but who knows?). The man running the grill and the lady apologizing for everything taking so long. Three guys in front of us and still it took 20 minutes for the food to come off the grill. But it smelled delicious for all 20 minutes. The menu is burgers, dogs, and Pastrami sandwiches, all of which smelled delightful. I’m not a fan of Pastrami or Dogs but I was tempted. In the end I went burger since the patties appeared hand formed. They don’t do veggies here, unless you count fried onions as veggies. So I got a cheeseburger with bacon and Onions and the man is quite ample with the cheese. The burger was fantastic though in the future Imma gonna rock as Pastrami sandwich. Everything that came off the grill looked splendid. Four stars, docking one for cleanliness, chip selection, and speed of service. If you think that’s bad, just know, I’d dock 3 stars easily for those things at other joints. These sandwiches are straight legit enough to save a bad review.

Authentic NYC style hot dogs and sandwiches. We tried a hot dog, a sandwich and a burger. They all were good. My advice: If you love pork and spicy food: the NY Italian hot dog is what you want to go for. The red peppers are amazing along with the spiciness of the hot dog. If you love pastrami and spicy food: the Moussa sandwich. I loved this one. The pastrami was very nice and tasty. They get there meat from New Jersey itself. So, you are getting an authentic taste. The red peppers are also awesome in this too. If you love pastrami and don’t want to make it too spicy: the pastrami burger. You get the full taste of the pastrami without the spiciness and if you still want the spicy taste then they have a lot of sauces that you can use also. Overall a wonderful food experience.

Having a NY styled sandwich: Pastrami Reuben($ 6.50) in Portland with my NY Unilocal friend does sounded strange?! But a good sandwich is a good sandwich. And the nice friendly New Yorker owners were just amazing! They even offered to let us sample one of the sausage free of charge. Though The Fried Onion has a food cart like setting, there is a small sit down area for customers to dine in.
