Great place. It would be nice if there was a tablet on the table to place the food order. I don’t mind getting up for the drinks but the food lineup is crazy sometimes. I don’t want to wait 20 minutes in a line to place my own order and then have to tip… Otherwise great concept. Nice clean place and great atmosphere.

**REVIEWISFORPDXAIRPORTFOODCARTLOCATION!** I took my kids on an «adventure» to the PDX airport for our Sunday Funday and had it in my mind that we’d grab a snack to tie us over until we got home. Ordered the«side» of waffle fries, the gentlemen let us know that everything is cooked to order, so we just happily moved to the side and watched the planes while they made the fries… If you’re looking for old oil, greasy heavy fries, this is NOT it. OK, so typically if I’m going to eat fries, I expect them to be really bad for me, and I am totally OK with this! I mean, you’re eating fries! If they weren’t «fried» in enough oil or just didn’t taste greasy, I typically don’t like this«healthier» version… boo. This my friends, was I would consider, on the«healthier» side… and it was DARNGOOD! The oil tasted clean, and it wasn’t weighted down. seriously the most fresh fries I’ve probably had… they do a little seasoning on them too, and you can even get them smothered with«extras» on it, which is probably why these weren’t heavy, alone. I would have loved to get the extras but it was a bit spendy at $ 10, and I didn’t know what the portion might be… I spent a whopping $ 3, and it was money very well spent! Good portion, and great quality ingredients! Oh I MUST add that he made the experience sweeter… he gave us a Donald Duck impression that my 2 year old thought was AMAZING! haha!

These guys were across from my work around lunch and decided to try. Their whole menu looked great and I really wanted just French fries but they didn’t have any today. But I tried a Bro Dog and that was really good. Without toppings I’m sure it woulda been just fine considering I didn’t put much on it. My dog was five bucks but It got me full — Check’em out.

THISPLACEISAMAZING!!! We drive from Vancouver Canada down to portland once a year and its mainly to eat here! Bro Dogs is just amazing. IF your watching calories I wouldnt suggest this place. The owner is awesome, hes hilarious and very friendly. As for the bro dog itself. the cheese, onions, garlic, flat bread bun, the polish sausage, jalapeño’s, bacon and the amount of flavour is just mind blowing. It was so juicy and cheesy. I would most def suggest this place to try out.

I had the polish sausage and there was nothing special about it at all. We went while they had a food cart at the Roloff Farms. They were out of ketchup and mustard on the condiments table. The condiments that were on the table were disgusting. Flys all over condiment lids that were left open and a small spider going inside another condiment bottle. Absolutely disgusting. I asked the guy to put mustard and ketchup on mine personally with what he had inside the food truck and it took him 5 minutes to do that… and with an attitude I might add. Not sure if this is how they normally do business but this was definitely a bad first impression. First and last time eating from here.

So much better than I was expecting. The vendor, Scott, was very outgoing and made perfect suggestions on how to spice up the dogs. It was delicious, juicy, and he has a pretty good selection too! Cannot wait to come back soon!

I need to start waking up earlier to catch these guys. It’s impossible not to need a nap after you eat here anyhow. Ive tried maybe 4 times to catch them, but only have actually eaten here once, and I drove out to Tigard. It was worth it, I got The Dude, and i really wanna try other stuff. It was so heavy, and so amazing. They have veggie dogs that are good too. Really interested in checking out their burger but i probably will just keep getting hot dogs if I ever manage to get up before noon again. I really super wish they had longer hours. Being open for like 3 hours is a joke! I get it, if you can make enough money in that short of a time, do it. but those of us who stay up late drinking have a hard time getting up at 10⁄11 am, but thats my problem, not theirs.

Really would have likes to taste their fare but these losers decided to bail on their agreement to cater a friends party. Left them with 75 people with plenty of money and no food to buy. My friends ended up spending hundreds of dollars on pizza to feed the troops. Dicks. Can I give zero stars for suck ass business practices?

Still yet to get a dog, I went for the veggie burger this last time and it was super good! I’m loving all the great veggie options I’ve been getting here in the portland area. I really like this food truck as they always have amazing service and I’m never disappointed with my food. Veggie burger was tender, moist and so so yummy, hopefully one day I’ll get a chance to try a dog out!

As good as it gets if you want a totally crazy hot dog, well, there is a hot dog somewhere in there. Here is what my DOG incorporated. jalapeño cheddar sausage, onions, mushrooms, jalapeño’s, cheddar, cream and MAC and cheese, chili cheese fritos, BACON(YUM) and Bro Dog famous BBQ sauce. I WILL post the picture! I’m going back when I’m in Portland AGAIN!

Great tasting, huge dogs at a cheap price! Went there around noon on a week day a couple weeks ago… don’t remember what I got… but it was delicious and I will be back. There are 6+ different special sauces to choose from to add to your dog. And Scott is extremely friendly.

Eat your heart out, Oscar. Until recently, I never considered the hot dog to be a gourmet food item. But that has completely changed since last Thursday when I was introduced to Bro Dog. My introduction was actually forced upon me by Scott, one of the co-owners of Bro Dog. Apparently, he took offense that he saw me standing in line at his food cart and not sticking around to order.(It was only because the line was so dang long.) I’m not Charles Dickens, so I won’t turn this review into«Tale of Two Cities.» But suffice it to say that to call a Bro Dog a hot dog is an insult. Everything about their dogs screams quality. For starters, there’s the meat. Bro Dog wouldn’t tell me who supplies their sausages, but Ione bite told me it’s not the folks from Oscar Meyer. Scott tossed two kinds of sausage in my dog, each as tasty as the other. Those he laid atop his own specially made bread. This wasn’t your typical store-bought hot dog bun, folks. It was more a soft, flat bagel and ever so light. On top of that he added cheese, some jalapeño for kick, some Frito’s Corn Chips for crunch, some cream cheese and bacon. There may have been a few other ingredients tossed in there, but I didn’t notice them because I was too busy wiping the droll from my chin. Scott told me that the dog he was making me was a cross between The Classic and The Dude, two of his biggest sellers. Let me tell you, it was the tastiest hybrid I ever tasted. So, if you’re in the mood for a great dog, do yourself and your tummy a favor and head over to Bro Dog on SW5th and Stark. Pay no mind to the line, it will be worth the wait.

Bro Dog offers the best combination of dogs, buns, and toppings in town, but it’s Scott, the super nice and incredibly enthusiastic guy who runs this cart that really makes it special. Whether you are having a bowl(no bun) or a dog, a traditional(a Sabrette’s frank, same as all the NYC vendors use, with a nice natural casing) a Polish(Zenner’s), double dog(one frank inside another), a dude(everything but the kitchen sink), one of his other concoctions or even one of your own invention, Scott will do everything he can to make your own individual dog his masterpiece of the day. He really does seem to care just that much. And what are the available toppings, you say? Well, the ones I can think of: — Cheddar, Swiss, Jack, or Cream cheeses — Fritos(fritos!!!) — Bacon(of course!) — Grilled onions — Grilled mushrooms — Jalapenos — Saurkraut — and… *drum roll* mac & cheese(and it’s really good home-made stuff!) All this may sit in your calorie-counting bowl or atop one of the nice hearty buns he has made specially for him(they are nice, they hold up and have room for all the toppings). Oh, not enough for you? Why didn’t you say so? Feel free to bring your own ingredients and inventions. Today, I brought a can of chili and had him add cheese, bacon, onions, jalapenos(his idea), and m&c(massive and yummy!). I’ve also had a dog inside a slice of pizza(you can get 3 cheese pizza slices for cheap right around the corner at Give Pizza A Chance), and it was sooooooo good! I’ve had him make a grilled cheese sammy to use as the«bun» instead. Bring your imagination, but, even if you don’t, Scott will help you out, he loves happy, stuffed customers. Oh, and dirt cheap, IMHO for a loaded dog for $ 5 – 7.

heard about this place from a friend and though i’m not a lover of hot dogs, it sounded intriguing once i heard about the jalapeño and cheddar dog with cream cheese. i was a little overwhelmed with the idea of all those calories in one meal, but the owner reassured me that i’d want both kinds of cheeses. he also made sure i put the southwestern mustard on as a condiment(there are tons to choose from, btw). i was hesitant since i don’t usually like bbq/sw flavored things, but he looked me straight in the eye and said, «just… trust.» and trust, you should. dude knows what he’s talking about.

The customer experience at Bro-dog is top notch. It’s not often that you get to chat with the cook while he’s making your meal. Prior to going to Bro-dog, the extent of my hot dog experience consisted of polish dogs from Costco. Upon stumbling across this food cart during one of my many lunch excursions, I discovered a new found love for all things hotdogs. From the ciabatta buns to the grilled veggies and bacon, Bro-dogs has re-defined what it means to enjoy a hot dog.

First time here and it was definitely an experience. The guy is friendly and ordering is an experience in itself. We let him kind of make up whatever he thought was appropriate. In the end, we ended up with a polish with bacon, swiss, sauerkraut, cream cheese, mushrooms, onions, and fritos chips. Yes frito chips. Gotta give him points for creativity. It was $ 6 for a BUNCH of food. Cheap, greasy food. But in a good way. I couldn’t come here every week, but it’s definitely worth it to check it out. Also, go early, they were out of bratwurst by the time we got there(2:30pm).

Aaah yes, hotdogs. I remember NYC street vendors growing up. I remember ballgames with dad. I remember franks & beans and hotdogs sliced up into my macaroni and cheese. Which brings me to one of my favorite things about Bro-Dog: the desire to push the limits of deliciousness past the limits of good taste. Enter that option to put Mac n’ Cheese on your hot dog. Yes, that’s right, you can get macaroni and cheese on your dog here. You can also get cream cheese, onions, bacon, pastrami(!!!), burger(no really, i got burger on my dog), cheddar cheese, horseradish, mushrooms, i think garlic, definitely banana peppers, mustard, ketchup, relish(sweet and dill) and while I consider it a requirement, other people will sadly forgo the sauerkraut. There are a few kinds of dogs to get, including a vegan dog(I claim mullarchy, that’s not a dog, but Bro’s the pro, not me) all with or without the bun. My most recent expedition produced something magical in a way that’s just decadent. I got a bunless polish cheeseburger dog with bacon, pastrami, mac n’ cheese, mushrooms, onions, and cream cheese and I had to put some sauerkraut and banana peppers on there. It was just phenomenal. It was like chowing down on a bowl of divinely decadent death delivered by a dapper dude. The only reason I withhold the 5th star, is that I can’t eat here every day. I just can’t make myself do it.

«The hot dog New Yorkers relish!» One can’t travel to NYC or other large eastern seaboard cities without seeing the ubiquitous blue and yellow flag or umbrella over a corner push-cart hawking Sabrett’s famous hot dogs. Around since 1916, the Sabrett’s line is available from hot dog carts, convenience stores, delis nationwide, but still a little hard to find in most areas. If you want to order some direct, there is an etailer that will ship them to you. I hadn’t even thought of searching for Sabrett’s in Portland, because we have so many good, mom & pop local sausage shops. But lo and behold, one of our hundreds of glorious street food carts has started offering them, so I went to check them out. Bro-Dogs, at the corner of SW5th and Stark(and also you will find them on the sidewalk, late night, weekends, 3rd and Burnside)(I last saw them in front of Dante’s) offers a variety of Sabretts and other sausages. As usual, I went looking for the kind that comes wrapped in an intestine(natural casing), and Bro-Dogs satisfied my aching hunger with a solid ten-incher. Slightly char-grilled, and served on a most«interesting» bun, I asked for mine plain, and dressed it as I always do, with chopped onion and mustard. This guy knows his hot dogs, having grown up in Chicago. He even has celery salt on the condiment table, an homage to a Chicago dog if I ever saw one. He lacks the sport peppers and neon relish that Chicago dogs sport, but hell, these are Sabretts, so no need for the fancy stuff. I asked him about the«bun», which is a piece of bread he does on the grill. He explained that the major flaw in hot dog buns is that they fall apart(come unsplit), and that’s true. So he found a local baker which sells what the baker describes as «ciabatta bagel bread,» and tho I was leery(I like cheap buns, they take ten inchers easily), the toasted bread wrap was pretty fine, held up well, and one could have loaded it with messy condiments and it would survive, I am sure. Most local restaurants try to buy local, and altho the dogs are from NY, Bro-Dogs condiment table is chock-a-block full of relishes and mustards from Beaverton Foods, our local mustard giant. So kudos for that. Sabretts makes a great dog. Portland is a great hot dog town, and you should stop by Bro-Dogs and give him a try. $ 4 covers the ten incher and a bag of chips. It’s a deal.
