Came in on a Tuesday morning and the guy working was super nice and accommodating. He let me sample the cream cheese flavors and then when he noticed that I usually eat my bagel open faced, he said that he would prepare it for me that way next time if I liked. Awesome customer service, very warm and friendly. I’ll be back!

I work next door to this café and it’s excellent. Great coffee, and their speciality bagel breakfast sandwiches are awesome! Highly recommend the Sweet Irene with Ham, Egg and pineapple. For lunch they have a variety of sandwiches as well, the Turkey classic is my favorite and comes with the most delicious thing to happen to Turkey– cranberry mustard.

This café is right around the corner from my house. Their menu has plenty of options and even parking. I was having a bad day, but the server cheered me up with a sample of their bacon. I will continue to go back because of their great service and great food.

Really like this place. Internet café with wi-fi and computers. Bright, colorful, quirky theme. Friendly baristas. Nice for Internet work or chatting although there are no couches or arm chairs. Food choices are more than just pastries which is nice.

Cool staff, great music, good people, lots of plugs on the back wall. Not sure if they’re dispersed throughout. Yep :)

For a simple cup of Earl Grey they sure do make it amazing. Perfectly steeped, loose leaf, poured from a glass contraption from either the future or the past, it was delicious. Good, rich house coffee, and all kinds of delicious smells coming from the bagel maestro behind the counter. The staff was very kind, considering we came as a party of six with two kids to boot. Free Wi-Fi and great music playing. If I lived here I could see this being a good place to chill on the regular.

This place offers me five star service every time and honestly has my favorite coffee in all of Portland. Even black, it’s super smooth and has amazing flavor. They also have numerous types of bagels and speciality schmears – I recommend the jalapeño cheese bagel with sundried tomato spread. Delicious and great every time! Highly recommend.

Good coffee, fast internet, and plenty of choices to satisfy for a coffeeshop. I’d go again if I were in the neighborhood.

Red Square is a decidedly«meh» coffee shop that I come back to every once in awhile because it’s conveniently close to a laundromat I use from time to time. As Portland coffee shops go, there’s really nothing special here. Decent coffee, decent food, and free wifi. I’ve had mistakes made on drinks or bagel sandwiches a couple times, but employees have always been great about sorting these things out. I’ll probably never go out of my way to go to Red Square, but I’ll happily stop by when I’m in the area looking for a coffee or a place to do some work. This place is a perfect benchmark for a coffee shop that is «A-OK.»

This place is great! They have computers to use, a printer, good coffee and food, addictive iced chai and the staff are super friendly :) Since coming up here from LA to find an apt this has been our spot. What more can I say? I red square café!

Really weak cold press coffee. Fair prices. Pastries were sad looking, but the cake donut was tasty.

A quaint place to stop for coffee and other drinks. They have doughnuts for times when you have a sweet tooth. The coffee is self-serve in the back right corner.

Good coffee. Friendly staff and yummy eats. It’s a bit loud for studying or writing but it’s a nice neighbourhood place for a cup of joe.

I work next door & have been a regular customer for well over a year now. The owner & staff have been unfailingly friendly and eager to please. That there are occasional lines and wait times is merely a testament to their success. This place is a quintessential Portland neighborhood oasis. If you insist on fast food on demand, there’s a McDonald’s on Stark &82nd. Bön appetite.

Absolutely, totally the bomb. After walking for miles in search of breakfast(before 11am). and stopping in one place that wanted to charge us to cook our own pancakes! we stopped into Red Square and… ahhhh! the owner was fantastic. SO wonderful. The coffee was divine. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious. It was so laid back, too. No officious airs. No ludicrous prices. Just great coffee, food and conversation. If there were 6 stars I’d give them all to Red Square!

Like a neighborhood coffee shop. Strategically close to where I do my laundry. Coffee is great(I drink diesel only), food is great, place is clean, and the Staff is always super friendly(even early). Yes, it is an Internet Café as well. It’s Portlandia. Yes, some of the tables wobble. Deal with it. Every reason to stop here for a bite, a coffee, and a smile.

This neighborhood coffee shop is right down the street from my mechanic so I’ve been there twice the last week. Good variety of food and beverages but very small on the inside and cramped. Has outdoor seating which is a plus and a tiny parking lot for customers. I give it 3 stars because of the noise, lack of space, and the pastries are generic, mass bought pastries that they individually wrap and sell. I did order the spicy ivan bagel sandwich and will give that a 5 star review. The sandwich had a fresh egg, ham, tomato, mayo, and sriracha on a cheddar jalapeño bagel. Delicious. Will hang out here next time I need to get my car fixed but not a café I’d go out of the way to hang out.

Awesome gaming café, especially when it’s sunny. You get all the sun and none of the glare. The food and coffee are also delicious, and the baristas are super cool. Love the place!

I guess this really is an internet café. They still have those? Of course they do. And they should. Listen to my inner dialog write itself. Not everyone has a laptop and a smart phone, and they shouldn’t! So the place is kinda small, and a bunch of computer monitors at the«bar seats» makes it even a bit more crowded. But this is the place I would want to hang if I were visiting Portland and needed access to internet. Oh to have this place to look for housing when first I moved here — as opposed to soulless Kinkos across the city. So finding a table big enough for two was tough. There’s only three of them and two were already taken. There’s some shelves of self-serve food wrapped to go without prices. Yesterdays maybe… I get a yummy looking blueberry scone with sugar on top to go with a much needed coffee. The house coffee was pretty good, definitely on the mild side — not too much bite. I ordered a chicken & rice soup which was brought to me by the server. I really enjoyed it! Thick and maybe lemony? A small bowl for $ 2.50 was perfect for lunch. A quiet business meeting taking place, a slightly louder meeting of douche-nozzles(or 1+ friend), a few stragglers on computers. A somewhat dark place, with a serving area like a square whole cut out of the wall as you enter. A little on the squishy side(tight quarters) but perfectly comfy once you sit. Decent or better food, access to internet for the internet-less(don’t know the price for that), free wifi… All in all, and for what it is, this place has a certain panache and a style that I like.
