WHOA… what has happened here? Been eating here for years, quality and flavor has hit the skids. Will never eat here again. Also owners need to wipe the cob webs off the light fixtures same ones I saw 4 months ago.

WHYARETHEYEVENINBUSINESS? They clearly don’t care about the flavor, lack of flavor, or any culinary success. The salad rolls are rice paper, nasty shredded iceberg lettuce, flavorless noodles, and either a piece of shrimp or tofu, or whatever you get. So gross and flavorless. The ingredients on other items are not even what the menu says. The phở is not even mediocre. It’s pretty sad. I feel like they just carelessly opened a business to make a profit with no care or love of food or ability to make customers satisfied.

I just spent 40 minutes of my life in here that I’ll never get back. I have to admit, I had a bad feeling about this place when we walked in the door. The place was nearly empty and no-one greeted us when we entered but we took a seat anyway. After a few minutes, water was plunked down on our table and many minutes later, a young man finally took our order. After half an hour, we finally got our salad rolls. The blandest ones I have ever had. Would it kill them to add a sprig of cilantro? As we waited and waited for our bowls of phở, we noticed that the server was more interested in dicking around and talking to his friends than he was in working. Tick tock. It’s now 40 minutes into this dining«experience» and still no phở. Ever patient, we waited. Another employee walks in and starts bickering with the server. He says he is going to leave because he’s pissed. She tells him he can’t because there is no one else to attend to the front of the house. You know, the side of the house with the CUSTOMERS. Remember us? That was the last straw so we left a $ 5 for the awful salad rolls and walked out. As we were leaving, my husband told the couple at the next table we were bailing and they said they weren’t far behind us. When we looked back we did see them leave. I’ll NEVER come back here.

To all of those complaining about the ‘smell’ or lack of ‘cleanliness’ of Phở Broadway, I live a block away and can hear them cleaning– using a professional service twice a week. It is a family run business and after living across from it for two years now, I have gotten to know the people that work there. They are all hard working people, who like anyone tend to get overwhelmed from time to time, they are at times understaffed but they manage. And to all of you complaining about the different types of food, common, it’s a phở restaurant, what do you expect? Their main focus is phở, and it’s great! They don’t use msg, and their food is fresh. I know because I see it delivered everyday. Back off, if you don’t like it, don’t go there! Crazy Unilocal people.

I’ve been under the weather for a couple of days, so I really was in need of a big bowl of phở. I stumbled upon Phở Broadway today on my way from the bank. I tried it out despite the weak Unilocal reviews. Some of the extraneous comments on Unilocal were true… Yes, it did take a minute for the waitress to take our order. Yes, the carpet smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. But the phở was good and appropriately priced. I got the special phở with all of the beef trimmings. I took the advice of the bank teller across the street and requested thai basil instead of cilantro, which(according to the teller) is a preference among folks in the area. The Phở did the job. I would have liked the broth to be warmer(I like it a smudge below burning my tongue) and a little sweeter. But it was the right size(why would you order a small phở???) and it came out fast. I think some of the other reviewers must have gone in during peak dining time, as I arrived around 1:30 and had no problems. If I am in the area again and want phở, I will return. But I won’t necessarily go out of my way to come back.

We will never go here ever again. It is always understaffed. We came in the last time when there were only 3 other tables with people. And we waited 40 minutes for mediocre soup, while the the tv blasted gory, people bursting horror themed TV show episodes while we waited and waited.

By far my favorite phở in the city –however you don’t go here for the atmosphere. It smells funky but I usually get it to go. Staff isn’t «bubbly» fake friendly but they are genuinely nice people. Give the food a chance before writing it off. It’s worth it!

I’ve heard their Phở was really good, but I haven’t tried it yet. I have had the Green Beens & Tofu and it is freakin’ awesome! Try it spicy!

The vegetable toppings aren’t the freshest, and the broth needs some doctoring, but it’s decent phở if you’re unable to drive far out for the good stuff! An A-OK joint for the neighborhood.

Place is OK… deserves solid 3 stars plus. Phở was okay, but a bit thin on flavor. Just something missing, but not sure. Service was friendly and attentive. I’d go here again from the hotel I stayed in, but I know there are better places out there.

the service is hit-or-miss and tends to fall a bit more on the«miss» side of things, but they seem to be working on it. during my last visit, the waitresses were on point with water refills, bringing the bill, etc. the phở is good and you get an enormous bowl for $ 7. they have a weird business philosophy where they let every single table get covered in dirty dishes and then clear them all at once, which usually equates to an empty restaurant with no clean tables and some poor waitress struggling to push an enormous bus cart by herself. it’s a little bit weird, definitely comical, but not a deal-breaker. this place is worth a visit, especially during these gray rainy days.

ATTENTIONOWNERSOFPHOATBROADWAY: If you want to stay in business I HIGHLY reccomend tearing out those carpets and using an enzyme cleaner. Your restaurant smells like the crazy cat ladies house!!! That is NOT appetizing!!! .My friend and I had a movie/shopping date and wanted to have some Phở for lunch. I had looked up a location near the Lloyd Center and found Phở on Broadway and decided we’d give it a try. The moment we walked through the door I could smell an odor but not identify it. There was only one person there eating(at 1:00PM on a Saturday?!) and that struck me as odd. After the waitress gave us our menu I was so overwhelmed by the dirty carpets, especially when I realized the odor smelled like cat urine, that my friend and I decided it was unbearable. I did something I’ve rarely done in my life, we got up and left. I’m not sure what the food is like, but I cannot imagine how anyone could eat with that smell! And if they cannot keep the dining area cleaned, I don’t even want to think how the kitchen is kept. Eat at your own risk…

I’m giving Phở Broadway 4 stars because for a phở… it’s pretty good. And because it’s a phở place, cleanliness and service are not expected to be good — which they aren’t here. I’ve been here a few times and would return. No big deal. And it’s a pretty good deal.

meh. not so stoked on this place. the atmosphere is kind of trashy. The place is kind of dirty. sticky tables. dirty floors and walls. not too appealing. The place looks like it is just deteriorating overall. The staff is pretty slow to get around to taking orders. The prices are totally reasonable. Large portions from $ 7-$ 9 for lunch. I had the broadway phở special. It only comes in the large size. No small portions like the other vietnamese soups. Kind of weird. I liked the flank steak but the meatballs were too chewy and tasteless. The broth was okay but I have had better. I tried some of my friends pork and shrimp stir fry. It was okay. The pork was pretty flavorless though. The shrimp skewer was small and dry. Our tab took forever to come to our table. The service was just not good and the food was meh. I don’t think I will be stopping in here for lunch again anytime soon.

5 stars for the phở, 1 star for the service brings us to a middling 3 stars. I walked in near the end of a weekday lunch rush. The spacious dining room was full, but not crowded. Still, it seemed like there was only one server working, and it took her a good five minutes to notice me and point me to an empty table. It took her another five minutes to come and take my order and — here’s the kicker — a half hour to bring out my small bowl of veggie phở. A big reason for going for phở that day was the fact that I didn’t have much time for lunch and as seasoned phở-goers know, it generally takes no more than ten minutes for a big steaming bowl of salty goodness to arrive from the kitchen. At Phở Broadway, the server dropped off the check way before I even smelled my phở. I don’t know if they were understaffed or just slow, but a half hour for a bowl of soup is ridiculous. Luckily, the phở was well worth it. The small was very generous, with a bowl big enough for its contents(admitted pet peeve: when the phở is crammed into a tiny bowl and there’s no room to mix in your condiments) and lots of veggies. The broth, although on the salty side, had a great depth of flavor and the tofu was so silky, it was like eating clouds.(Obviously speaking from experience.) The table was well-stocked with condiments so even the pickiest of eaters could flavor their phở to their liking. I’m really hoping that the poor service was due to an off day because Phở Broadway is cheap, delicious and close to my work. I just hope it doesn’t always take them ages to bring out the soupy goodness or I may start eating from neighboring tables and nobody wants that.

Trying NOT to catch husband’s cold, AND I had a little too much wine the night before. what’s that spell? Phở, phở sure! The place going in looked exactly like the other restaurant that was here, only the menu has changed from what we could tell. The menu itself is full of choices, from Phở to vermicelli noodles dishes, to tons of appetizers, entrees and even bubble tea! I like to have spicy when I’ve got the threat of a cold because it really feels like I’m kicking its butt with all the hot pepper and my sinuses giving it up. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Phở. They’ve got small and large which is a really great idea since the norm is HUGE. I opted for the small and it was just enough, if not filling just the same. The shrimp were decent sized, and there were more than 5, best part though, they take off the tail and shells. I don’t know about you but I really don’t feel like digging into my shrimp and having to do surgery on it before I can eat. I just want to put my face in to the bowl and slurp.

Why does PB have a four star average? I hope it’s not because of their $ 5 phở special during the month of November. I was underwhelmed about this place. I didn’t try the phở based on Janessa’s review of the broth being bland. The broth is what makes phở, phở. The fact that it’s bland concerned me. I decided to go with the rice vermicelli noodles. Bad choice. I asked for no cilantro. What’s in the bowl? Cilantro. I asked for the grilled pork & shrimp bowl. What’s in the bowl? Grilled pork but no shrimp. My bowl consisted of shredded lettuce, brown bean sprouts, shredded carrots, egg roll, vermicelli noodles & pork. The fish sauce was too vinegary & overall not good when mixed together. I had two bites & couldn’t tolerate anymore. This fed the homeless. We also ordered General Tsao chicken. In my opinion it lacked flavor. My friend thought there was some but not enough. I just didn’t think it tasted anything like the general tsao chicken I’ve had in the past. The sauce is different here. This is normally a spicy dish but when asked to make it extra spicy I think they just forgot to add spice all together. The egg drop soup was more of a vegetable soup. I’ve never had egg drop soup with cabbage, snow peas, broccoli & mushroom. How odd. At least there was egg, I guess. It wasn’t terrible but just not the egg drop soup we were expecting. The positive thing of the entire meal was the drink. The iced vietnamese coffee was actually the best I’ve had in awhile. Best Baguette’s & certainly Phở Dalat’s doesn’t compare. I may only return just for a coffee to go. The service was terrible. I received an annoyed /impatient look from our server when I asked for a couple more minutes to scan the menu. Really? A couple times she asked, «everything okay?» while walking away from us rather than stopping, asking & then waiting for a reply. Also, what’s wrong with smiling once in awhile? Or thanking customers? I know one may not enjoy their job but at least pretend to. The place isn’t very clean either. Check your silverware, plates, etc before using.
