HORRIBLE customer service, for the past two years that I have lived in North Portland I’ve neglected to visit Little Big Burger over fear that it would be unsatisfying. Unfortunately it was nothing but unsatisfying, me and my boyfriend ordered two cheese burgers. Both with cheddar his with added goat cheese, both with bacon that was I believe 50 cents each and I asked mine specifically to be well done knowing they only cook them medium. It’s like they didn’t hear anything we ordered because we got NO bacon, his only had goat cheese and my burger was medium aka raw in the middle. It made me furious, not to mention they couldn’t even say thank you when we left. We will never again visit Little Big Burger. Horrible horrible restaurant.

Makes me sad to only put two stars. This was my favorite location. Took a friend on a Sunday afternoon. There were only two ketchup bottles in the whole place, the counter was dirty, I had to clean it myself. The cook had his cell phone out on the counter and kept checking it in between flipping the burgers.

Love their food, but I think they just close whenever they feel like. It’s 9:15 and they locked their doors on a Friday night– closing time is listed at 10pm on two different platforms that I checked. Pretty bummed.

Best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Fries are amazing as well, and the service. And the prices are great for the high quality of food that you get! I have SEVERE gluten allergies, so I always have to ask how the food is prepped in case of cross contamination. People often give me «that look» when I have to ask how the food is made, but, the cashier here was great. He was super nice about it, and he made mine himself to make sure it was safe for me to eat. So it’s a great option for gluten-free and Celiac folks! The burger is so good that you don’t need a bun(I got mine lettuce wrapped) and it’s the best patty I’ve had in years. More importantly, I was able to eat safely as a sensitive Celiac, because the burger grill is just for burgers, and the fryer is just for fries. No cross contamination at all. It’s awesome to find a place that I can eat without worry! If the managers are reading this: your staff is awesome, and I hope they get a raise :)

Cute location with swift takeout service. Yummy truffle fries that remind me of DQ fries circa 2000(a positive — no soggy/limp fries) and the cheeseburger was the perfect size between a slider and normal sized burger.

Little big burger is easy and you always know you are getting a good quality burger for a small price. There are only a handful of things on the menu so you really can’t go wrong!

I asked«How much for an extra patty», he said«We can’t make those», I asked«How come?», he said. «I don’t know». When you tell a customer you CANT do something, this is the beginning of a bad relationship or the end of a good relationship. Overall their burgers a really good and convenient, I have been coming to this location for awhile. Tasty and makes you want more. Hence, the Double Patty question — it is also because the burgers are very small(But still very tasty). This area is growing with other options. These places are going to have to stay competitive. I don’t think I will come back here. It is time to look for other burger options nearby. I think after awhile, one gets a bit fed up with the delicious tiny tease burger.

I am NEVER too full for truffle fries. Seriously one of the best food choices in pdx– and you can find LBB in every neighborhood! The mississippi location is money. Fast service and hip hop music. #win

Surprisingly, this was probably my least favorite of the food stops. It wasn’t bad by any means, and was definitely«solid,» but it just didn’t win my heart. I had the cheeseburger with the chèvre on top. I liked the twist that the goat cheese brought, and I did like the spicy ketchup, but it’s still middle of the burger road for me.

If you take into account the price, this is a definite five stars. Cheap as hell and good quality food. However, if I’m to only rate their food, then I would give them a four.

Hubby and I were out and about and landed on N Mississippi ave. There are a plethora of awesome restaurant options, however, tucked back in a corner next door to Blue Star donuts sits Little Big Burger. We’ve never been and so this was our pick for lunch. We were both pleasantly surprised. We both ordered a cheeseburger and shared an order of their truffle fries. My burger came with real cheddar cheese and all the fixins. I was shocked because it came perfectly cooked to a medium temp which imo is how a burger SHOULD be cooked. Top quality and fresh ingredients are standard here right down to the crisp veggies. Hubby said his burger was good as well and cooked perfectly. The fries were what they claimed to be and slightly misted with truffle oil. Its as good a shoe string as your going to get anywhere and the truffle oil is a nice touch. We were also pleased with the house made ketchup. Surprised it had a great kick to it but by no means was it overly spicy. Same goes for the fry sauce, and was all washed down with some good ol coca cola. Over all I’d have to say it was a great meal and both of us ate for under $ 17! Thanks to LBB for a great burger experience! We will be returning for some good quality American fair.

I have two complaints about this place. 1) the music is so loud that sitting inside and having a conversation would be impossible. 2) THEYNEVERANSWERTHEIRGORRAMPHONE! Forget about placing a take out order and having it ready when you get there. The one time I was in there for food the phone was ringing non stop while two cooks putted around. The girl who had been at the front(where the phone is) was no where to be seen and the cooks sure as hell weren’t going to answer it. I commented to one that the phone was ringing, thinking maybe they couldn’t hear it over whatever the hell they were listening to. Her response was«yeah, I know». It rang several times in the 10 minutes I was waiting for my food, no one ever answered it. The burger was good, the fries were delicious, the service was ok until I realized they don’t answer the phone. Very frustrating.

What separates this LBB from others is the beautiful open air courtyard you can enjoy your food whilst sitting in. It shares the space with fellow Portland staples, Laughing Planet Café and Blur Star donuts.

Have you ever watched Chopped! on The Food Network, and the clock is about to run out on the entrée round, and at the last minute one of the contestants drizzles some truffle oil all over the top of his/her entrée? Typically this is a cue for the judges to release a collective moan with pained looks on their faces. «Nooooooooo!» they yell. Then later in the judging portion Iron Chef Jeffery Zacharian says something to the effect of, «Truffle oil is an awful product. They shouldn’t be allowed to sell it. It’ll ruin any dish.» Well this is how I feel about the truffle fries everyone seems to rave about at Little Big Burger. They’re perfectly fried, golden brown, delicate shoe strings. The technique is impeccable. And they taste like ass. It’s the gawd-awful truffle oil. The tiny burgers on brioche bun, cooked medium rare? Those are pretty darn tasty. I don’t go quite as ape-shit for them as some folks do, but they are quite good. Nice and beefy and flavorful. But dare I say I’ve had a better burger? Indeed, I have. So long story short, instead of a burger and fries I’d as soon get two little big burgers. Kudos for the chef/owner starting his own fancy-pants artisinal catsup company(Camden). Extra kudos for calling it catsup rather than ketchup. I admire that kind of obsessive passion.

So I’m allergic to beef but I will eat a Little Big Burger and just suffer the consequences because they make me happy and I love them. Yes. I’m serious. Tiny burgers on a brioche bun with your choice of cheese(get the chevre). The beef is REAL(in yo face every other burger chain) and you can tell. The burger is small but packs a punch of flavor in every bite. And the fries… truffle fries. They have a cult following and one you try them you’ll see why. And try the fry sauce – it’s great on everything. This is my favorite quick, go-to eatery when I’m in PDX. Why only four stars? They have root beer floats but they don’t do shakes. I just think they should do classic shakes(like strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate) as well. But heck, who cares. I love this place.

Simplicity at its finest. The burgers: delicious, juicy The truffle fries: crispy, on point. big ass portions The catsup: genius(why don’t we have this in CA?!) A solid as heck place to grab some good quick eats without feeling like you’re binging on mediocre fast food. Prices are perfect, and they have cans of beer if you feel like indulging. Better than In n Out? Hell yes.

«Yeah its really slow so we’re playing one direction radio…» These are actually the best fries i’ve has since hiking the Rigi in Switzerland. They ad JUST the right amount of truffle oil and they are INCREDIBLE. it’s true. the burgers are little. AND big. somehow. As far as burger complexity goes, they’re pretty basic, so don’t expect any crazy sauces or modifiers. it’s a basic burger joint with KILLER fries and a hip choice of beer.

This is pretty damn good! Not the best burger I’ve ever had… but a damn good burger. And a buttload of bacon for only .50 extra! WHAT?!? Love the vibe! The place is bright and fun. lots of young people and kids coming in after school for their fix. Obviously they have lots of regulars. It gets busy sometimes! The burger was delicious and filling for $ 4.25(plus .50 for bacon). It’s only a quarter lb. I wish there was a larger option as well. The truffle fries were awesome,($ 2.75) but again. why not offer regular fries too? I added a cider and my whole meal(inc alcohol) was $ 11. Not bad. There aren’t many tables(but plenty more outside which works w/o rain) and there’s some stools at the short«bar» that look pretty uncomfortable. So seating is weird. But the vibe is cool and food is great! Check it out!

Yay-I am a fan, indeed. I would love to have a LBB in the ‘Couve. Maybe someday… I like this place for the reasons that some do not. I like the– Small-ish burgers. Okay, maybe folks would prefer they smash the patty down and stick it in a larger bun. Like everyone else. Now it’s all dry and chewy like all the other 4 dollar burgers in the world. Mmmmmm, yes? Fries. Some folks don’t like the truffle oil. Fine. GTFO. More for meeeee. Camden’s CrackERRR Catsup. A matter of taste, I’m sure(as in the naysayer’s lack of). Think about how hard it is to make something as common as a burger and fries become unique. I appreciate what they do here.

I’ve noticed a lot of people compare Little Big Burger to In N Out, and I can definitely see why. It smells just like an In N Out! Food wise, the cheeseburger was pretty good and really juicy. Paired with some truffle fries, it was an awesome meal. I liked that the truffle fries were super crispy and that you could really taste the truffle flavor. However, their system of calling numbers could use some work. They’re not loud enough for customers to hear their numbers, and they don’t follow up on orders that have been sitting on the counter for a while leaving them to get cold.
