I like this Laughing Planet location because it is very roomy. The employees are pretty cool too and greet you right as you enter. I really appreciate good and healthy food with a dose of awesome customer service. The only thing I dislike about this location in particular is that the restroom(though very clean) is not inside the restaurant and you have to use a key and go into the hall leading to the restroom from an outside door. One last negative for me is that the beer needs to be colder. These two things aren’t enough to deduct any stars and I always enjoy my meal at Laughing Planet.

Korean BBQ bowl with beef… YUM! Great variety of vegetables, tasty beef, and healthy brown rice. Great mix of flavors between the Korean BBQ sauce and the pickled cucumbers. Tasty, tangy and a bit of a kick. Everything was crisp and fresh, though a bit on the spendy side. However would definitely order it again and would like to try the Thai bowl at some point. The staff was really cool too.

This is why Laughing Planet is great: 1. They have healthy food that’s ready in the same amount of time as fast food. 2. Their food tastes good. 3. They have locations all over the city. 4. They have coupons in the Chinook Book! Basically, there are limited places in Portland that I can call for takeout and have healthy, delicious food ready for me when I get there. Service is usually good. A bit slow last time I was there, but the employees are always friendly. Be sure to grab a punch card so that you can work your way to a free entrée! Oh… and try their seasonal specials… yum!

I love all the Laughing Planets but this special high-five goes out to the Mississippi location. I’ve had Postmates deliver from the other spots many times and every time it’s been excellent, but my most recent delivery from Mississippi was the best I’ve ever had. Whoever is making the bowls over there needs to be in charge of making them at every location. That Korean Barbecue Bowl was perfection. It was so good I called them just to let them know, once the euphoria wore off. Lots of delicious lightly pickled cucumbers, light on the broccoli stems, just the right amount of sauce. A masterpiece. I’ve had literally dozens of these and didn’t know they got better. Dude, they get even better. Thank you, builder of the bowls at Mississippi!

Friendly dude at the counter… decent vegan bowl… only gripe… could be a larger portion of food for the price… otherwise a nice form of «fast food»…

I now give up. I will no longer frequent here or any of the other stores. Yesterday they gave me my order of a veggie quesadilla with almost no vegetables in it. I opened it up and showed the shameful thing to an employee and I received an embarrassed apology and had another ordered for me. The employee said, «I don’t know how that happened since I’m sure he measured out the ingredients?!“After a while, the new one came, and it was twice as big as the first on(so the cook obviously did not measure anything in the first) yet it was burnt like a cracker. The kitchen here is putting no love put in the food. I tossed my meal in the garbage, where it belonged and left.

Ordered chicken burrito… delish! Staff very friendly, very clean establishment, prices on the mark. They don’t skimp on chicken, which is all white meat and very fresh and seasoned very well. Great place for a quick bite! Plenty of condiments and Siracha… indoor and outdoor seating.

S’alright. It’s a pretty typical«healthy food place» that’s been designed for convenience. Nothing on their menu is super special or «must have.» I had the Thai bowl with brown rice, steamed broccoli, tofu, a peanut sauce, and a cabbage slaw. Good, though a little salty, standard, nothing out of this world. Not a place I would make a special stop, but I was craving something healthier and was on my way to the airport so I needed something fast.

The burrito ingredients were fresh but the flavor just wasn’t there. I like the idea of this place but it fell a bit flat.

I was contacted by a LP rep a few months ago regarding this review, and she said she’d send me some free vouchers to make up for my finding a foreign hair in my burrito– i sent her my address and months later still no replacement vouchers– i had had a previous bad experience at another of their locations about a year and a half ago regarding an EXTREMELY salty, inedible burrito– for which they made right on by sending me replacement burrito coupons– i cashed in the vouchers, had a much better experience, and left a new review that reflected that, as is right and fair. my suspicion is that their rep saw my address Re: my latest complain, saw that they had sent me free burrito vouchers once in the past, and reneged on sending me replacement coupons because they think I’m trying to con them into more«free» burrito cards? not true at all– look at my Unilocal page/reviews profile, i am a legit customer and WAS a several-times– a-week patron/fan of the various LP locales all over pdx/eugene — NOTANYMORE. the fact that i can buy an burrito, eat half, find a hair thats DEF not mine deep in and then get sick to my stomach and waste $$/food and then to all but be called a liar/fraud just cause i had 2 very bad experiences over the course of a few years is ridiculous. if you say you’re going to send replacement burrito vouchers then do so– don’t claim you will and then never do with no explanation. i would never go through this much trouble for a «free» burrito, but i def will to prove a point and say what’s right.

Delicious as always and a great location. There’s a beautiful open air courtyard to eat in which is shared with fellow Portland staples, Little Big Burger and Blue Star donuts.

Again let me start with«this is not authentic Mexican food» and doesn’t try to be, this is a healthier approach at Mexican dishes and burritos. I like it because it doesn’t lose the flavor and I feel slightly guilt free afterwards. No stone goes unturned here as far as ingredients. Much better than po que no down the street IMO. Their food is local and fresh and you’re always treated with kindness. What they do they do well.

I don’t like to review a restaurant based on a single dish, but I don’t make it out to this part of town often and when I do, there are a lot of other places competing for my attention(Miss Delta, Interurban, etc.). But even if/when I do make it back I’ll probably order the same thing, so it’s a moot point. As a recently diagnosed diabetic, I am forever on the hunt for food that is both good and healthy. A couple of coworkers recommended Laughing Planet Café, and I was not disappointed as it met both criteria. With nutrition information posted online, I knew full well ahead of time what I was going to order. The Bollywood Bowl it was. Coming in at a respectable 350 calories and 40 carbs, this meal in a bowl contains Draper Valley Farms natural chicken breast, sweet potatoes, garlic green beans, spinach, and seasonal veggies(in this case, Brussel’s sprouts) served over a bed of brown rice and topped with a spicy Indian coconut sauce. I found the portion size perfect and filling, especially if you’re on a health kick(which it’s safe to say anybody ordering this probably is). I should point out that I have never cared much for Brussel’s sprouts, so I was surprised to find these tasted pretty good. Actually, everything did. The combination of ingredients was flavorful without hitting you over the head; the sweet curry-like sauce and sweet potatoes perfectly complemented the tangy green beans, and those Brussel’s sprouts lent an interesting textural component to the dish. The chicken was probably the least successful of the ingredients, but really, there isn’t a lot you can to to make breasts sexy. Err… chicken breasts, that is. Still, they added protein, and at 25 grams, a decent portion of it. I also ordered a side of «quick pickles» which translated to a sliced cucumber doused in a vinegar bath. I liked them; they weren’t overly tart but had just enough of a kick to add another welcome contrast to the meal. Priced at $ 1.00, they were worth it. The whole meal came out to $ 8.50, which I think is pretty reasonable for dinner. And because you’re bussing your own table afterwards, there’s no need for a tip(unless you’re generous). They did bring the meal out to me, but other than that, there’s not any real service to rate. To sum it up: good, healthy, and reasonably priced.

Super cramped, somewhat slow service, relatively expensive. Why does healhty food need to cost so much. Geeesh! Nothing spectacular but I would go back. By the time I added on the guac and sour crème my wrap was almost surpasing $ 10.

Not completely sure why it takes 25 or 30 minutes to make a bowl of chicken and rice, compared to other laughing planets where it takes less than half of that time. Thought I would be able to have food before work, ended up having to take it to work and eat it cold. The staff seemed too preoccupied in trapping a bug that got into the restaurant and freeing it outside… For it to come back inside and free it again two more times. At least the food was good. Generous three stars for food, I guess. Edit: the manager sent me a message apologizing and just genuinely caring about my experience and offering me a better experience next time I’m in! I just appreciate her writing back personally and wanting to improve in every aspect! I add an extra two stars because now I feel like a jerk and they are actually wonderful people.

Street parking on Mississippi can be difficult no matter what day/time you’re here. Aside from that, I love this place! Fast friendly service when they take your order(quite a long wait to actually get my food though), moderate prices, huge portions, indoor/outdoor seating and environmentally friendly :). They have recycling AND composting receptacles for customers(I love that). The outdoor seating is a variety of no umbrella or bistro umbrella(not everyone loves to sit in the direct sun, hello!) There are fresh baked cookies at the front counter, and creative weekly menu specials. YUM!

My wife and I each ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla… What we got was a BBQ sauce tortilla sandwich. There was a total for 4 chicken strips in my meal, the rest was BBQ sauce and burned tortilla. It was sooooo grossss. The company has some silly note about getting your money back in the menu. Who would *ever* actually go harass the woman with the face tattoo and the dreadlocks about how terrible your meal was?
