Consistent, well priced, and big portions + always friendly customer service brought me to update my review. Calling ahead is a must, they can get very busy and delayed during the lunch rush. Their curries are currently my favorite, check their online menu for some of the«secret» options. If you don’t like something in your meal– they’ll make it without! Spicy levels– when I pick up orders for friends and co workers, we get everything from no spice to very spicy, everyone is satisfied! Sometimes it does err on side of spicy, but as one who enjoys medium to mild spicy in my Thai food, it’s never been to where I can’t eat it. Again, $ 5 and there’s at least two lunches– so great!

This is by far my favorite Thai food place in Portland! Great prices, huge servings, and best of all, it’s delicious. If you’re looking for Thai food that rivals the real deal in Thailand, look no further. They’ve got all the main dishes, as well as a secret menu(e.g. panang curry, Thai eggplant, pineapple curry, pumpkin curry). The people who work here are very friendly as well. In the end, if you want Thai food that will feed you for an entire day for just $ 5, this is your place.

I LOVE this place SO much. So much that I am currently eating it for dinner. Everything is like $ 5(I get only veggie and/or chicken options). The $ 3 rolls are amazing and HUGE. The portions in this place can last me about three meals sometimes. Its great! They also know my order when they see me so that should tell you how much I love this place! Theres also an outside sitting area so its great to go with friends.

Hidden $ 5 goodness with huge servings. I especially love the Drunken Noodles. Warning, their food is spicy. The first time I had hot, the second spicy and I was still blowing my nose. Cash only. You can call and do take out in advance.

Only 3 stars because I find their food a little underwhelming. Large selection and the curries are great, but even ordered at «mild» too spicy for me. I don’t love their fried rice or pad Thai, but at $ 5 for the size, it is very decent. I had the tom kha with shrimp today and it really was delicious. I’ve never had tom kha served with rice, but I appreciated it. Really beefed up the cabbage/broth soup. As everyone else has mentioned, the Thai iced tea is a must have and the peanut sauce really is devine.

How I have yet to write a review for my favorite little Thai food cart is beyond me! I adore this place! I come here at least once a week. It’s by far the best deal and delicious home-cooked Thai food you can get downtown. The flavors are rich, the portions are gigantic, and they are so friendly and quick every time-without fail. When I say the portions are huge, I mean it. If you get a stew that comes with rice it’s probably the most normal one meal portion size. But if you decide to go for noodles or for anything curry, plan to have lots of leftovers :-) That being said my favorite things here are the Pad Kee Mao, the green curry or pineapple fried rice, Thai eggplant, and the red curry, all with tofu. I also get salad rolls quite often(your choice, shrimp or tofu, same price either way), and they are as big as my arm plus you get two of them for only three dollars. They are served with really chunky delicious peanut sauce and also the red sweet sauce if you prefer that. Their Thai iced tea is good but the their Thai iced coffee might be even more amazing. You really can’t go wrong, but if I had to pick my least favorite it would probably be pad Thai. Might just be because that’s the simplest most original Thai dish everyone seems to go for when you’re trying new things but it’s just too elementary now, I prefer all the other exotic flavors this cart is able to offer & they are all very exciting! It is cash only. The wait is usually 10 – 15 minutes, but you can always call ahead your order. They have outdoor seating they share with their neighboring carts. And if you’re driving by, usually there’s about 5 street parking spots right in front for grab and go people. The staff is super friendly(especially Venus), with amazing food, for a fantastic price, gotta show them love!

I ordered the chicken pad thai with the shrimp salad rolls as an appetizer. The pad thai was a little spicy but I asked for medium so that was my fault, but it was really good. In fact, it’s the best pad thai I’ve had in Portland so far. Other reviewers had it right as well — the salad rolls are HUGE and they are extremely fresh veggies. Next time I want something light, I’ll just order these for lunch and at $ 3 bucks it’s a steal! Also, the peanut sauce for the rolls is the best I’ve ever had — this place is a must-visit if you’re looking for something quick and cheap on the go!

4 stars for the food and extra for the price. Wow my chicken pad Thai was very spicy and very delicious, topped with yummy peanuts(fave) ! Can I mention portion size.woah. In the corners of my Togo box were bean sprouts and carrots and guess what was under? More chicken! Heck yes. And Thai iced tea was so good and only $ 1 ! You can’t ask for more here. I work at CHH and called ahead to pick up. Definite new lunch spot. Can’t wait to try the rolls and everything else!

I am pretty sure I eat the salad rolls and peanut sauce at least once a week, probably more. They accommodated our gigantic lunch order, boxed it up and had it ready to go. Definitely recommend if you are in the area

I was not expecting this much food for their prices. I got Pad Thai, salad rolls, side of Jasmine rice and a Thai Tea for $ 10. Their Pad Thai($ 5) kinda taste like Orange chicken pad thai which was a little weird at first cuz it doesn’t have the sweet Pad Thai-ness that it should. The salad rolls are HUGE. like. each one is the size of a normal one anywhere else, and you get 2 for $ 3! And you get either shrimp or tofu for the same price. I was really impressed with their side of rice, it was delicious, packed full and it was in a large Chinese Togo box and $ 1. Like, full and large. Cash only–

This place deserves 6 stars. It is, hands down, my favorite food truck in Portland. Great food, amazing prices, superb service. I always leave satisfied. Pro tip: If you call ahead, your food will be ready when you get there!

Oh my goodness! Such portions at such prices — this is the most delicious affordable food I have ever eaten. If only we had a place like this back in Boston, I would be an everyday customer. One word of caution: the portions are so huge only the most resolute of eaters will be able to finish an appetizer and entrée. In fact for the budget inclined — two people could happily split one delicious $ 5 entrée — magic!

Daughter and I wandered by and were drawn in by the delicious smoky aroma coming from this cart. We ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and Ginger Stir Fry w added eggplant. $ 12 total. Lunch came quickly and there was plenty of it. Pad Thai: the noodles were soaking in a thin, sweet, tangy(vinegary) sauce spiked w a mild heat. Because the sauce wasn’t thick, oily, peanutty or savory, the noodles rolled around in the mouth as though they’d been boiled. We decided we could enhance the flavor by asking for extra green onion, crushed peanuts, julienne carrots and bean sprouts(add $ 2 more). It helped a little, but the sweet vinegary flavor was present through and through. Sure miss the peanut sauce Pad Thai we are more accustomed to. Ginger Stir Fry: Happily not sweet, plenty of it. Same type of sauce, watery but flavorful. However, by the time you mix in the white rice it is served with, it becomes somewhat bland… too starchy and the rice quickly became soggy. We didn’t eat much of either dish, but the shrimp was good.

Last time I had Pad Thai and I thought I would try other things on the menu. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken. It was my first time trying yellow curry ever, it did not disappoint! It was very tasty and cheap compared to other Thai places! I recommend the yellow curry over pad Thai for this place.

5 Points for 5 stars: 1) Huge Portions! My go-to dish is Pineapple Fried Rice and there is enough for lunch and dinner. 2) $ 5 meals. Most of their menu items are only $ 5, with a few that add a dollar for extra stuff, and they have decent drink options. 3)Call in orders. You can call in when you are ten minutes away, and they’ll have it ready when you walk up! Great for when you’re in a hurry. 4) Menu is available online. 5) It’s a great option for good, inexpensive lunch on the South Waterfront.

I grab lunch from here pretty much everyday and the food is really cheap, hence a 5-star. To me, stir-fry dishes are all very good in general. My favorites are garlic & pepper chicken, cashew chicken, and eggplant chicken(the last one is not on the menu, but is really good). Some of the food can be too sweet for me, but they do accommodate my request to make my food less sweet and salty very well. Noodles and fried rice are average. I think people who hate this place might hate their noodles or fried rice, which to me might not be their strongest suit. Give them one more chance with stir-fry dishes :) Service is great and very friendly. I always call in ahead to order, thus I never get annoyed with the wait time or the line.

I had lunch at Let’s Eat Thai Food 3 times. Visit #1 Chicken Massaman Curry You get a gigantic tub of curry and a separate container of white rice. I couldn’t even set the to-go bag on my lap when I got in my car because it was so hot. 15 minutes later, I couldn’t touch the curry because it was still too hot. When I was finally able to get around to it, I realized it barely had any chicken(or carrots or potatoes) in it. Think of it more like soup. Visit #2 Chicken Pad Ped I saw this Unilocaler’s photo of their pad ped( ) and thought to myself«Oh, I just got the wrong thing that first time!» Alas, my pad ped did not look like this. The box is 2⁄3 rice and 1⁄3 stir fry. The stir fry was pretty much just basil flavored bamboo shoots with a couple token baby pieces of chicken and eggplant. Visit #3 Chicken Thai Fried Rice + Salad Rolls I should have taken a photo, but the fried rice was just rice. It was browned because of the soy sauce. It had broccoli pieces in it though… and a couple bites I took had baby pieces of chicken to remind me it was supposed to be more than just rice. The menu said it would include tomatoes, though it didn’t. The salad rolls were iceburg lettuce mix rolled up in rice paper with pretty much nothing else. Kind of funny. I had a go-to Thai lunch spot in San Francisco that was seriously legit. I had high hopes Let’s Eat Thai Food could be my Portland replacement, but it can’t compare… to any Thai place for the matter. I see what they’re doing here. Serve up massive quantities of bland, sub-par Thai food at really cheap prices because they cut the more expensive ingredients. The food is scalding hot too. SCALDING. Which makes me think they microwave because how else does it get that hot? My boss thinks it’s gross and inappropriate when I eat at my desk. Like, I might as well be clipping my nails. So I need to eat during the time I allocate towards grabbing lunch. This is something I can’t do if I get lunch at Let’s Eat Thai Food. I practically burned off my crotch. SILVERLINING: Dollar Thai Iced Teas. Just order that! Think of this as your new $ 1 Thai Iced Tea spot. I found you a $ 1 Thai Iced Tea spot. Go ahead and reduce this review to that.
