John’s Landing Cleaners

I walked in the door on my 3^rd visit in two weeks and was greeted by name. It’s like Cheers but with cleaner shirts. Given I had only been in twice before I was impressed. The service is fast and they’ve demonstrated a solid attention to detail when cleaning my shirts. I’m a fan.

Broken buttons and poorly pressed shirts. When brought to their attention I was told, «sorry», with no offer of correction.

Had a burn mark on my shirt after they cleaned it and my wife brought it to the owners attention. Said that he didn’t do it. Fine. So my wife had an idea that they could hem the bottom of the shirt higher to hide the burn. She went back in to ask them to do it with the intention of paying for it. When she walked in the guy went off on her saying it wasn’t his fault. Almost had her in tears. What I would like to do to him would get me in trouble so this review is my only recourse. Buyer beware

I took my boyfriend’s favorite shirt in to try and get what looked like a cooking grease/​oil stain out, and when I came back to get it, it hadn’t come out. Steve offered to run it again for free to see if a second time would do it, and presto! It worked! He was so nice. Will definitely be going back!

Well, for review 301, I want to share with you that I’ve been getting my suits cleaned at John’s Landing Cleaners for the last several months, and am pretty happy with it. So long as I live nearby, this is my spot.
Parking is easy, in & out quickly, and turn-​around on cleaning is just a few days. I think the price is reasonable (but I don’t have much comparison).

Steve really is great. I only go in once or twice a month but he always remembers my name. I’ve used quite a few dry cleaning services over the years and this one is by far the best!

Today is January 2^nd (not even an actual holiday) yet all two dry cleaners in my neighborhood were closed. These folks were open, friendly, and the place didn’t smell like chemicals. suit turnaround
time 24 hours. Yay!

A good friend recommended John’s Landing Cleaners as I was looking for a reputable place to clean my 10’X13’ wool handwoven rug and not get charged an arm and a leg for it. Other places were quoting over $ 400 for the privelege. JLC quoted $ 280. I dropped it off in Feb and they told me it would be ready March 10. Come the 10^th, it wasn’t ready and I was told it’s taking longer than expected and they’d give me a call when it was ready. The 1^st of April rolled around and no call, and I was getting nervous because this is a cherished rug, but I also realized that it’s a big freaking rug and well used with some coffee stains and dog rawhide particles that needed special focus. Finally, by the 7^th I called to find out what was going on. I was told that there was only one guy working on it (JLC contracts out that kind of work) and it was just taking a long time. I envisioned a ruined rug and told JLC that I wanted to pick up my rug on the 14^th whether it was done or not, and I was told it would be done by then. Sure enough, I received a call the afternoon of the 14^th that it was ready and I went in the next morning to pick it up. The man at the front desk was very apologetic and did the right thing by giving a steep discount for my worry. The work on the rug was well done. What could have easily been a one-​star experience became a 4 star experience. It would have been 5 if it was done on time.

After my last experience with a dry cleaner, the fact that my clothes were clean and delivered on time as promised makes me an instant fan. Also the staff seems very friendly and happy to have you as a client.
