Si, si, si. Get anything and never look back. I had the cactus breakfast burrito and tamales. As long as you want great Mexican and maybe you’re drunk, you’re set.

24⁄7 Mexican food! Nothing super special unless you’re starving broke and everything else is closed! We usually call in an order and pick it uo

I’ve been to Javier’s lots of times, it’s one of the best for fast food, you won’t believe it! Get the shrimp cocktail over and over again and order burritos and goat soup its…“goattastic” Just beware the mentally twisted individuals and occasional meth addict coming in to rouse you.

The most delicious crispy shredded beef tacos 24 hrs a day. Dangerous. I now live 15 miles away, but sometimes take the drive just for those tacos.

When I got back into Portland I was introduced to Javiers. Never thought it would be that good but every time I go here I always get the quesadilla de Asada. My second choice would be the medium carne Asada fries with guacamole cilantro and onions. The food is awesome. One of my hangover cures. The old guy is probably one of the chillest ones in the store. Always nice, and gives good customer service. It’s not Javiers unless you visit three in the morning drunk or extra hungry.

I grew up in North Portland and always went to Javiers for their great breakfast burritos. Tonight I was in the area and decided to take the fiancée there to get her one. She ordered a sausage breakfast burrito. When she began to eat, she thought something wasn’t right. We discovered that the sausage was NOT breakfast sausage, it was a regular cut-up hot dogs. Then we discovered that the potatoes for the burrito were heavy/greasy french fries instead of grilled breakfast potatoes. I couldn’t believe that this was even the same place I went to growing up. There was also a group of three high school guys repeatedly yelling obscenities so the entire restaurant could hear. Nothing was done by the restaurant staff to even attempt to quiet or stop them. Our burritos were terrible. We’re never going back.

Love the 24hour option since I’m such a night owl. Tasty goodness at 3am. Interesting clientele too. Skip taco bell and come here. The food is yummy and under $ 10. See you there.,.

I went here after a night of drinking and was excited for a 24 hour burrito spot. I got the carnitas burrito and it was way too heavy on the meat, I barely remember a vegetable or any rice being present. I regret that experience.

Best taco place EVER. highly recommend it. It’s 24 hours… can’t get better than that. 100% better than Taco Bell. They give you huge servings for a cheap price. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Portland. Even if it Is Divey

The prices were just right for the huge serving sizes. It’s pretty good, I had the carne asada.

Javier’s gets an extra star in my book because it is open 24-hours everyday. Establishments that are open for 24-hours hold a special place in my heart as I am from Nevada. Overall I would rather go to many other places when I have the late night drunkie munchies, but the issue is these places are usually closed by time I’m headed toward home. I will say that the reason I end up at Javier’s it because it is better than Taco Bell. A new motto maybe? «Javier’s… we’re better than Taco Bell!» Anyways, they do have a few veggie friendly options, have tasty red and green sauce to take with you, and are open 24-hours a day. DONE!

24 hour tacos are worth the drive across town. Their adobada is delicious, albeit neon orange. Is it the BEST food ever? No. But the hours make it definitely the best option when you have no other options. Dont be deterred by the sketchy location, this place draws people of ALL types and can seem unsafe. The last time i was eating there, 2 cops came in separately and got burritos to go lol.

Cheap and quick Mexican food. The person behind the counter was nice and efficient. No sure how anyone could really get too upset by the food they serve. For two carnitas tacos with rice and beans and a medium Horchata, I spent less than ten dollars.

Always open, great to just grab a quick snack. Personally I usually just get a Quesadilla but it’s cheep enough to be reasonable to just kind of just eat without worrying about the price.

If you’ve been up all night drinking, find it is 4am and you haven’t eaten, and you or your buddy are just under the limit for a felony DUI charge: It’s a Javier’s kinda night. Nothing quite compares to that look in your friends eye when, weighing options because you’re both starving, you boldly posit: «Javier’s?» And they look back at you like«oh shit, son — I mean I know we’re both hungry but are we seriously going to go through with this?» And then you do, but nobody remembers it, so it’s okay. On the plus side, it seems, like, comparatively safe, to be inside of the building, I would say. As opposed to out in the middle of Lombard.

this place can get by. prices are cheap, food is mostly edible. there are way better Mexican joints in the city. and, they royally f-ed up by mixing up the wrapping on the veggie and tripe burritos.

Tacos! Open 24 hours! Fat free! Well, two out of three ain’t bad. Yep irritates me by promoting me not to leave you hanging. Of course I’m not going to leave you hanging! I’m not sure this is the most authentic, but definitely good sized portions, tasty, and satisfying. The bacon burrito is a filling favorite.

I finally tried Javier’s. I’ve heard about this place from so many people over the years. It clearly is a Portland institution in its own strange way. It’s fairly late(after midnight) and I’m still hungry after my karaōke from hell! This place is fairly conveient for the ride home and it’s about time I found out what the fuss was about. The place is big! Bigger than I ever imagined from the outside. It was not too busy but boys kept coming in as we waited for our order. It was really a mix of people — I wasnt in any way scared to be there at night. The burrito I ordered was big… for maybe $ 5 or so? I ordered my sour cream on the side(like I do). But this thing was meat and nothing but. Big, somewhat fatty, pieces of meat. No veggies, rice, anything. Maybe sauce. and meat. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing… I’m willing to consider that it’s me. I ate some that evening, a couple bites the next day, and here’s a picture of the last of it. I never did finish it but Lennie my cat really seemed to enjoy the overabundance of meat. I will go back — and try the fries you are all raving about. And give this place another try. I do like the slightly seedy feel — like I’m actually in a crappy hood in boston or nyc or any other big city. The hours are pretty sweet too. But I really need the food to be much improved…

I’ve eaten at Javier’s many many times, but of those times, I can only remember two or three of them. I don’t think I’ve been to Javier’s before 1AM before either. I also don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything other than the carnitas burrito. I’m pretty sure I got it once and really enjoyed it. Not sure how much I’ve enjoyed it since. So why am I giving Javier’s 4 stars? Because it is open every god damn day, all day long. Portland has a serious problem with late night food. Not even the Denny’s by the convention centre is open 24 hours. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a not 24hr Denny’s before. Even in the throes of Snowpocolypse 2014 Javier’s was open. Now that is dedication, and questionable labor practices. So it’s not great food, and honestly it may not even be good food, but it’s food and it is open all the time. Always there like that reliable friend you could always count on but were never thrilled with seeing. Who knows where I’d be today if it wasn’t for Javier’s. Probably a few pounds lighter, but with much worse hangovers.
