The place I should have gone to first, but no, I had some hip hacker jack up my hair and then came to see Ken for a salvage operation. If you are one of the 5 or so people who still get their hair permed, Ken is a great deal… low price and solid results. I’ll keep coming back no matter how cheap those Groupon deals get… they are cheap for a reason..

I had my hair cut and colored by Shirley last night and I am beyond happy. I wish I had a before and after picture, truly! Shirley was kind, available even though very busy and a fun lady to chat with, a bit of a comedian really. I recommend her services and Shirley a hug from me to you for getting me ready for a last minute treatment as a bridesmaid. I will be coming back and I am sending someone your way this week:)

Shirley has been cutting my hair for years. I’m hair-​challenged, and Shirley takes care of the hairs I want to keep, while dealing swiftly with any unpleasant stray hairs on my eyebrows or ears. She’s thorough, and does it right.
Keith and Ken are great fun too, and a trip to the salon is always an enjoyable adventure. Guys — you don’t need to be a diva to like getting your haircut here!

I love the experienced professionals in their intimate, comfortable setting. They know what they’re doing with cuts and color and they stay current on products and trends.

Shirley at Hollywood Hair is the best cutter I have found in over 40 years. She is consistently great and a joy to deal with as well. My wife goes to her too, and feels the same.
I almost fear praising Shirley too much because the more people that realize how terrific she is, the harder time I’ll have getting in to see her. :)

Being new to Portland, away from my old hairdresser I attempted at home color, box said extra bleach blonde but probably should say streaky orange! Thank goodness Ken and Keith were around the corner! Keith was able to fix it no problem! He had me back to a beautiful «natural» blonde with a fresh new cut in no time! I am so happy to have found a hairdresser in my neighborhood! Some things are better left to a professional, and it is nice to be able to just relax, catch up on my magazine reading, since they have every one you could ever want, which is amazing and know my hair is going to turnout great every time!

After being in Portland for over 3 years now I am still on the hunt for a hair dresser that I would return to… but I think I may have stumbled upon one! Sick and tired of paying $ 200+ to have a cut and color I decided to give HH a try after an aquaintance suggested it. So I booked an appointment (and didn’t have to do it a month in advance) and crossed my fingers. Ken was my stylist and I liked him immediately. He listened to my concerns, my gripes and what I wanted from a cut and color. And I have to say that he gave me pretty much what I wanted for a very reasonable price ($ 80). The place is far from fancy but that is okay by me. I know I will return and I am confident that as we develop a relationship my satisfaction with the place can only improve.
