The quality seems to decline with every change of operator. Today may very well be my final visit, at least to this location. It’s a shame too, since I work in the building it sits in front of. Perhaps there’s a rice shortage I’m unaware of? I ordered a large veggie bowl and there was barely any rice. I’m asian. Rice doesn’t cost much and I buy mine a pound at a time at home. Please don’t skimp on it. Pickles cost went up too. I remember an apology note for when overall prices went up… now I thought that was unnecessary then, but I appreciated the message. Now, skimp on content + jack up the price on a condiment? I go here for dirt cheap and great quality stuff. I’ve told my office mates of how it’s always worth the wait for your order and I boast to my friends who don’t work or live in Portland about how great it is that this cart is just an elevator ride away for me. No more… I will haul my lazy ass over to the KP building in search of something else. Something consistent. I’ll come back for sure. Maybe in 6 months or so, to see what’s up.

This place is a good bet for a quick lunch on the go. Except maybe right around noon when there is sometimes a line of up to 10 people. There’s only ever one person doing it all, but it works. I went there today at 1:30 or so and there was only 1 person ahead, so it went super quick. Best to come here when it’s not raining because there is nowhere to hide. The food is pretty good. I’ll always get a burrito of some sorts which fills me up just fine. Sometimes it seems like the chicken gets a bit burned, but that may depend on the cook there that day. All in all, a simple place to get a quick lunch fix.

It’s very easy to mess up a burrito. Fuego messes up burritos. Their burritos are bland. The beans were also burnt and left an awful taste in my mouth. I won’t be back.

If you work around the lloyd center lunch options can be pretty much pinned down to fast food or something else that is a «not so healthy» choice. This little food cart is the first healthy option I have found around here that keeps me coming back for more. The options are simple and healthy. It is not authentic mexican food so if that is what you are looking for this is not the spot for you. This is fresh, healthy, and organic. The menu is simple. Burrito or bowl. Chicken or vegetarian. Sour cream or yogurt. spicy or mild salsa. They also have a few add on options. 50 cents for organic spinach. One dollar for guac. One dollar for extra chicken. Burritos or bowls come with rice and black beans standard and then you add whatever else you want to the burrito or bowl. Super tasty and healthy. Win-Win. The service here is great. The people are always super friendly. Last time I went here for lunch my burrito split as she was rolling it up. I told her it was fine. She said she could re-do it but I assured her it wasn’t a big deal. Plus there was a long line of hungry people starting to form a fairly large line. She hooked it up by giving me my added guac and spinach for free!

Working in an office in the Lloyd district, there aren’t a lot of options for lunch. Enter Fuego. On a cold January day in Portland, a colleague mentioned this place, and eager for a new option, we went along. As a native Southern Californian, I don’t often trust Mexican food made north of Santa Barbara… it just isn’t the same. We head toward the corner and a line is waiting at this trailer, even though it wasn’t a day when you’d want to stand outside waiting for your food. The menu is simple, and you fill out a short form to put together your options… small or large, burrito or bowl, veggie or chicken, sour cream or yogurt, type of salsa and a few other options. The man working the cart is friendly and knows his regulars. And even though it was chilly everything moved quickly. I got a bowl, and my colleague got a burrito. Even though we both ordered the«small» size, they were huge. I can’t even imagine what the large would be. Great, fresh ingredients, good mix of flavors, tender chicken well marinated. It was great, and a definite exception to my «no Mexican food north of Santa Barbara» rule. I’ll definitely return when I’m working in the area again!

Part of the chain of Fuego food carts offering burritos and burrito bowls, either chicken or vegetarian. Quick, friendly service, cheap and very tasty.
