Great BBQ, great beer, great service. You can’t go too wrong with that combination. Sure, it’s a chain. BBQ purists may thumb their noses at that, and I understand. But the food is really quite good, I especially like the assortment of BBQ sauces at the table. The hot sauce is truly hot, I’m a fan of hot sauces and have a pretty high tolerance, I could only take it in very small portions. This was my first time at a Famous Dave’s, I’ll be back at some time in the future.

Whenever my husband and I are craving BBQ style food when we can’t make it ourselves, we always drive over here from Vancouver to indulge.
I pretty much always get the st Louis or baby back ribs because they’re so good. They’re neaty, seasoned just right for no bbq sauce and have a little bit of char on the ends. Even though they’re seasoned, I still add a little bit of each bbq sauce on each rib.
You just have to try each one!
They used to offer chips when you get seated so you can try each of the BBQ sauces to find the one you like, but now they charge for the chips. I think they said they got new owners. Changing stuff as mediocre as that will leave a bad taste in your customers mouth whethers its future or recurring.
The jalapeño mac and cheese is delicious. Not super spicy but just the right amount of heat for a side.
The potato salad is good but has way too many onions. I also like my potatos a little softer, but it was fine.
The cornbread is amazing. Nice and buttery and sweet tasting. I need the recipe!
We’ll be back when we have another craving for good meat!

I had a great experience here. The staff was super friendly and it was followed with good food and drinks. The Famous Dave’s Margarita is the perfect combo of sweet, tart and cohesion of flavors brought together with a great choice of liquors. I have to say that the mac and cheese is a must and their corn bread is amazing, but more like a cake than a bread.
So my reasoning for my less than 5 star rating is the atmosphere. I did not like the seating. It was uncomfortable and the hostesses there were very young and a little unorganized. One more reason is the excess of bbq on the burnt ends. A little more like candy than meat.
Overall great experience and would go back.

Amazing food, amazing service! I have never been disappointed with a visit here. The brisket is to die for as well as their corn bread. I’d you order chips with your food, it’s not what you expect. They are fresh cut and cooked potato chips that taste awesome. I love their variety of success to use

Two stars are for the servers who are usually friendly and attentive.
My last visit of January 6, the chicken sandwich was now 2.00 more from the lunch menu. From 9.99 to 11.99? Good thing there are choices nearby because this is the end of our dining relationship.

The best ribs! Friendly atmosphere. Very fair prices for generous portions. Will definitely be goi g back again and again. My husband and I share the sampler platter and have left overs to take home!

The food was good but the service was just sad. Maybe we should not have sat in the bar area. I’ll find another place for BBQ next time I’m in the area

I gave 3 stars because it would be the average of stars every time I visited. Sometimes the food tastes really good, REALLY good, then there would be times where it would taste really bad and not fresh.
If you are a pit bbq aficionado, you are going to hate this place. However, if you are a commoner, you may find this place average or satisfactory. The level of service you will get would also depend on who your server is based from our multiple experiences.
Watch out for the freshness of their nacho chips and bbq sauces especially the spicy ones. If you are in doubt, I urge you to ask for a new one of you will pay the price in the restroom.

We found this place last minute, and we were starving. Prices are great, and I really like that the portions are not HUGE. Food was awesome, especially their cole slaw– better than KFC (Sorry I just love their Cole slaw).
My only complaint, is that when we ordered mac and cheese for my son off of the kids menu it was kraft blue box mac and cheese. I was hoping for more of a homemade mac and cheese from a BBQ place.

It’s the Red Robin of BBQ. Sitting in the bar at a high table, watching sports on the tv was great, but the food was only mediocre.

Disappointed in service… I ran in to buy some bbq and waited forever… In the mean time a little old lady came in waiting too. Finally someone notices and helped he person closest… The person worked never asked who was next. Poor customer service.
Once again… Disappointed.

My review might be a bit biased considering I lived in south Texas and had access to so many different BBQ places. With that said, this place has average food. Very friendly staff and chill environment.

Terrible service. The restaurant was fairly empty and the waitress did not bring dining utensils, sugar for the coffee, wet naps to clean up the barbecue sauce, didn’t even ask if we wanted ketchup to go with our fries, little to no attention on her guests. Other than she was mice to look at terrible service.
The food. The baby back ribs were tough but the flavor was there. The potatoes were good. I liked the fries. The corn bread muffin was good. For the price compared to the food and service I will not be going back. Shame too since I was on a road trip and this was my first time eating at one of these restaurants.

Great, tasty food. Exceeded my expectations. Service was ok, staff mostly very young but bar staff knew what they were doing.
Wine (red) menu pretty good. Beef brisket was very tender & tasty — cooked for 10 hrs or so from memory.
Pricing very fair. Worth a trip back.

I was at Cascade Station so I decided to take a break from shopping and grab some lunch here. Ok first off yes they are a bit pricier but the amount of food they give is well worth it. The ribs were tasty but I was a bit disappointed as Ruby Tuesday ribs are better and I read that this place is known for there ribs. Sweet corn was good n soft and the mashed potatoes were excellent. Also had the chicken tenders and they were ok. The Sweet Mama’s Punch was great. I would go in for drinks maybe some pupus but idk that I will go back for a meal.

Enjoyed the outdoor seating for quick evening dinner with my man! Loved the music and ambience. Definitely plan on returning.

Not really keen on the whole review thing, but I feel n it’s neccassary in this case. I love bbq brisket. The smokey fall apart kind. This place… horrible brisket. It had zero smoke flavor, and tons of fat. The meat was covered in it.
I ordered the brisket hot link combo which was $ 20. In return I got 3 1“x3″ peices of crappy fat covered brisket an 1 hot link. Not ok.
Anyway, I won’t be returning and if you want real bbq food in the portland vancouver area, you must go to goldies on fourth plain Rd in vancouver. Hands down, 1000% better flavor, portions service and price.

Famous Dave’s is pretty legit. I enjoy the atmosphere and especially the food. The service is quite mediocre, but it is somewhere I enjoy going to. If you come here, the Ribs are what they’re known for, and there’s a good reason for it. Also, a very great price based on the amount of great food that you get. I highly reccomend it.
TL;DR: A great place to eat when no one can agree where to go.

We’ve been eating barbecued brisket all across the southern part of the U.S. during our travels this year and last. Many of the places we’ve visited, I’ve reviewed. My rating is strictly for the brisket at this location. Compared to the dozens of other places we’ve had brisket, the brisket here is close to the bottom. There was no smoked flavor and very little bark. It wasn’t delicious and tender. It was more like leather. It not only tasted like leather, it looked like leather. My thought was that the brisket probably came out of the smoker earlier than it shold have or it would have been tender. We would not return for brisket. My husband hardly touched his. It was that bad.
The beans and coleslaw were delicious. Service was so-​so. Waiter never asked how our meal was.
