Does not communicate at all she still owes me money. NO Dignity

I too was attacked by a lady after deciding I was going to go somewhere else. Their sandwich board should read «enter at own risk». Amy suggested I should go back to my original accountant and have him make the corrections. So I chose that option and then she wanted to charge me for the time I spent with her. However she did apologize after accosting me for paperwork. Free consult is pretty standard for most CPA.

Amy is a wonderful accountant! She not only saved me a lot of money and gave me a great return on my taxes-​on a very complicated return a might add-​but she also explained everything and gave me some great business advice. I’m definitely going back to her this year.

The co-​owner/​tax preparer Amy Kennedy, attacked me for not wanting to do service with her. Amy demanded a retainer I had second thoughts. I asked for my W-2’s back and she refused. She refused to give them back and instead physically attacked me. Police Report #1 264 441. I have tried several times to get her to pay for my medical bills. Amy instead has chosen to ignore me. I happily went somewhere else, and glad I did. I found a much better place on SE Division. There are several witnesses to the attack.

These guys are very thorough; our return last year was far greater than we expected. Will be coming back this year…

Not good at her job!
Not only did she sit on a set of returns I wanted her to refile for a year, she didn’t file my extension for 2011. To ad insult to injury she would not respond to phone calls or e-​mails for 4 months. After said time she contacted me to tell me I would have to pay up front for her to «start.»
Needless to say I was fed up with being treated like that and I took my taxes to another account. He finish in three weeks and he was cheaper.
Not only did Amy waist my time but she cost me several hundred dollars in fines to the IRS.

Amy and the team at Clarity Tax are pleasant and professional. They took away my tax headaches and were integral in advising me about setting up my new business structure. Fair and affordable rates. I wish I would have consulted with them sooner! They are licensed in both Washington and Oregon.

Summary: Our experience was very negative based on low service level and unprofessional
behavior. We have no specific issue with the accuracy of the tax papers themselves, but the
interactions surrounding that were slow, difficult and ultimately ended with us not having them
file our taxes even though we had already paid in full and they were not going to give us any kind
of refund. That is how unhappy we were with the working relationship.
Details: I can’t go into all the details, but I have every email exchanged and can trace these
things back very accurately.
— We first met with them on ⁰³⁄₀₇ and delivered all of our input to the taxes. We were told at
that time that they were busy and therefore it would take up to two weeks.
— On ⁰³⁄₂₃ we were told, only after we asked, that they were behind schedule and were not
waiting for anything else from us.
— Over the next couple of days we did get a few follow-​up questions from Clarify, presumably
because they were looking at our details for the first time, which we answered promptly.
— On ⁰⁴⁄₀₇ we again asked about the status of our taxes and were told that they were in final
review.
— On ⁰⁴⁄₀₉ we picked up our taxes, paid in full, and brought them home to review and sign the
final release to file. When reviewing the taxes, we had a few questions and one specific question
on our 2^nd mortgage.
— On 04/​10, after we had made several phone calls to get clarity on our taxes, I received an email
saying that «Because your husband has called us four times in the past two days, we’d prefer to
deal with you on this issue via email moving forward. … Subsequent phone calls will result in
billable time, please make Kirk aware of this.»
— On that same day, after a couple of short emails, I was told «we pride ourselves on our customer
service, so if there’s anything we can do to make this right, please let us know.» So I asked for
our money back because we no longer wanted to have them file our taxes which prompted another
surly reply.
— We then received an apology email from the other partner for the first partners emails. Nice,
except for then it went on to say that they can’t do something illegal even if we ask them to.
What??? We were trying to understand the deductions and never asked, nor would we, that they
do something illegal!
— As one final treat, the last email I received from Clarity said that «loss of confidence is a
meaningless complaint.» So that is their opinion of whether their customers should have
confidence in their services. Interesting.
— On 04/​10, I purchased TurboTax and in 4 hours had both our State and Federal taxes done and
submitted. Most of the work was in preparing the information which we had already done for
Clarity, so filling out the forms wasn’t so bad. Makes me wonder why we hired it out in the first
place, but lesson learned on that one. The claims by Clarity that the couldn’t possibly refund our
money because of all the time spent seems doubtful if I was able to do it in 4 hours.
