The folks who run this truck are so nice and the food is delicious! The service is quick and the prices are great. I recommend the chile relleno burrito!

I love trying(and comparing) tacos at lots of different places. Today, I was enjoying the sunny weather outside and happened upon the La Morenita food cart. A quick glance at their menu told me this would be a good(cheap) place to eat.. .most of their tacos were only $ 1.75(only the fish and shrimp tacos were a little bit more at $ 2.00). I ordered two tacos: grilled steak and grilled chicken. I usually would also order al pastor but they didn’t have it on the menu. Oh well, two tacos are enough anyway, since I’m trying to lose some of my «winter weight». OK, the meat on both of them were grilled nice and brown. However, the steak had a little bit of gristle(but it was still at an «acceptable» level). The onions were grilled and I really liked that a lot. This is the first place that actually grills the onions on their tacos instead of just using chopped raw onions like everyone else.(To me, raw onions don’t really taste that good, but all of a sudden they taste GREAT once they’re grilled.. .I don’t know why.) The guacamole on the tacos was thin and runny and more like some kind of sauce rather than«real» thicker guacamole. That didn’t really bother me much though since I’m not that particular about guacamole anyway.. .but I’m mentioning it just as an FYI for this review. I was impressed with how shiny and clean their cart is. It looks brand new! Also a very nice man and woman running it. They have adequate seating around their cart too, with a couple of long picnic tables on one side and also a small covered seating area attached to the other side with a couple of small tables.

Best Mexican food in Portland. Worked down the street for the last year and have eaten here every day, sometimes twice a day. Probably eaten at Morenita close to 100 times, and don’t see myself ever losing my craving for this food. Pastor and fish are the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried plenty. Portions are big and satisfying and prices are cheap, too cheap so tip well. Can’t wait for this place to get more recognized for its quality so they can open up a restaurant. Same guy works 12 hours a day with the biggest smile on his face no matter how stupid Portland’s weather decides to be. Eat here, you’ll be glad you did and you’ll come back many times.

Breakfast served all day. Great Chilaquiles for $ 7 in less than ten minutes. Friendly, fast, and delicious. In the same lot as Carte Blanche and Fried Egg I’m In Love.

My favorite cart in Portland. Try the veggie nachos — the best anywhere. The owners are extremely friendly. I hope they are able to make the transition to a brick and mortar place someday soon. I will be there every week.

I see a food cart and think automatic win. I was disappointed because it was just a 3.

La Morenita is a worthwhile cart for a Mexican meal. As such, they carry tacos, burritos, beverages and more. They are located in a pod that has several other Hawthorne District carts. There are places to sit and eat your meal. I saw this cart for the first time when I was walking about the neighborhood. Having a perpetual desire for fish tacos after my San Diego trip, I decided to order one for two dollars. It arrived after about five minutes. The fish taco was good, but not great. The fish to be found inside of the taco was made skillfully, despite not being fried. Surrounding ingredients could have enhanced it more. Next, to break the tie of rankings, I ordered a pork taco. It again came after five minutes. This time, it was not only great, but it was excellent. The pastor was marinaded with such a memorable amount of skill. The toppings enhanced it greatly, and it was heaven in my mouth. I may not consider this a haven for my fish taco desires, but it is more than a haven for my pork taco desires. It is good that Portland has another competitive option in La Morenita.

I pretty much rate relatively to area, dish, etc. This place has become my go to for nachos and burritos pretty much. The Morenita burrito is bomb, has a chile relleno in it. The nachos, I order with extra sour cream, the beans are nice. The tacos are up there too. At the end of the day, if you have even one go to for me, I’m gonna give you 4*s. Everything I have had was good.

Very nice couple, always happy, friendly, and super-quick. The prices are great and the portions are on-point. The al-pastor is amongst the best I’ve had in Portland, and the namesake Morenita burrito is delicious and never-tiring. The nicely grilled onions are a wonderful touch, and the small side and back areas are big enough to accommodate a medium size crowd. I’ve been to Morenita maybe seven or eight times, and they deliver every time. I’ve had better carne asada, but for this area, this level of quality is typical I think. I’m thankful that I often see a small group there eating or waiting, when I drive by, because I want to see Morenita around for a long time to come.

A wonderful food truck sharing the same podlet as Fried Egg, I’m In Love and Carte Blanch. Opening at 9 am, they offer a breakfast menu(until 11 am) that, in addition to the standard breakfast burrito choices, offer a half dozen or so egg dishes such as Rancheros, con chorizo, con machaca, etc. I had the chorizo version which came with the sausage scrambled with eggs, rice, beans, and four nice corn tortillas for $ 5.50. They also offer three delicious torta choices(milanese, chorizo, and pineapple) for $ 6.50 and they are STUFFED. I’ve also had their signature burrito($ 7) which is is filled with carne asada and a chile relleno; very good, but I prefer the aforementioned tortas. Polite prompt service and a hot sauce option which is truly hot, highly recommended especially as a quicker breakfast option than Fried…

That’s damned yummy! Note the whole chile relleno inside. The meat quality could be a bit higher, but overall delicious!

Solid burrito, decently flavorful. Not the best I’ve had in Portland by any means but certainly not the worst. Average Mexican food. The burrito is more of a flat style — as in — it’s not particularly stuffed with meat, etc. I didn’t leave hungry but I’ve also had more stuffed burritos with more generous meat portions. I did however enjoy the crispier tortilla style as it made it sort of a cross between a burrito and a flat pressed wrap. Would not go out of my way to go here, but would not hesitate to order if next door and hungry. Expect to be satisfied, but not wowed.

Awesome burrito w/grilled al pastor, grilled onions, cilantro, beans and rice made to order! Not too heavy on the beans and rice. Amazing flavor and super friendly service! You can also practice your Spanish with him! I will definitely be coming back here when I’m craving Mexican food, so that will be quite often!

Excellent street tacos(try the al pastor) at the right price, $ 1.25 each. Nice guys working the cart too, get this and some Cart Blanche next door and you have a nice international meal.

Let’s get down to it. Pretty good burrito here. 5 – 6 bucks each. I got the shredded beef burrito. Very tasty. Their menu is typical food cart Mex with some Chile Relleno based burritos thrown in the mix. Yum.
