Here, you’ll have the unique option of picking how lengthy a sandwich you want, with a 3-inch minimum. It’s a reasonable $ 1 per inch. So for starters, I got a 6-inch Philly cheesesteak with provolone. The Amoroso roll is one of the keys to a great cheesesteak. Gotta have that soft roll that can stand up to all the awesomeness inside. Great job on the provolone, peppers, and sauteed onions. Unfortunately, I thought the meat — the last piece of the puzzle — was a bit dry for my liking. Probably left on the grill just a bit too long. It was also admittedly a very small cheesesteak. I likely could have wolfed that thing down in about six bites. Perhaps three really messy ones. There’s also a Portland option with prime rib, grilled sweet onions, sweet peppers, crimini mushrooms, and blue cheese on a Franz pioneer roll. The CDG(perhaps for the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris?) has au jus-soaked roast beef, caramelized onions, melted gruyère, provolone, and Parmesan on a French roll. Finally, there’s a breakfast sandwich with egg, steak, Philly toppings, and cheese on a sourdough roll. I’m sure the other sandwiches are amazing. On this visit, the cheesesteak was probably average overall.

Went there with my son for lunch and the guy running it was great. Sandwich was excellent: fresh and yummy. It came fairly fast but was a little pricey.

Definitely a good cheesesteak. The three sandwiches(corresponding with 3 different cities) differ in several small ways — bread type, beef type, onion type. The Philly sandwich uses Amoroso rolls. Heck yea! Payment is by the inch, which works ok for me because I just wanted 6″, but I can see how that would add up if you wanted larger. The meat in the Philly was cut too thick and was a little overcooked, otherwise the sandwich was delicious(and pretty authentic). There was music blasting via speakers on the outside of the cart, and that made it hard to communicate with the guy inside the cart, never mind that it made waiting for my sandwich a little annoying. Regardless, I’ll be back for another sandwich at a later date.

Let me just say this place is awesome. We arrived from CT on Saturday and went to the Saturday Market in downtown Portland for the day on Sunday. I did plenty of research on food trucks before leaving, so we headed up SW Alder to visit the Pods. It seems a lot of them don’t open on Sunday. The ones I ear marked to visit either weren’t opened or didn’t hold their appeal in person. We walked around and found The Cheesesteak Factory right next to the Dump Truck. We decided to eat here mainly because I wanted a good cheesesteak and my wife noticed one of the cheese options was blue cheese. I’m not a big fan of blue cheese, but she looked like she was in heaven. It’s very simple, you pick your cheese(American, Provolone, Blue or Whiz), then pick your veggies… all fresh cut and not in strips(onion, peppers, mushrooms or all of them). Then, how many inches you want…$ 1 an inch. The owner Rick was great! We talked a bit and he’s never even been to Philly. I know I’ll PO some of my friends from Philly, but I told him Pat’s and Geno’s were no great shakes, but he needs to go just to see for himself. His were awesome! He told us that they normally are supposed to use rib eye for the steak, but they were all out, so we had to «make due» with prime rib… are you kidding? They’ve only been open for a couple of months. I asked him if anyone has reviewed them on Unilocal yet and he said no, so I’m happy to the first to do so. You have to stop by. You will not be disappointed!
