Hengameh is the eyebrow magician! I LOVE my eyebrows! I started losing eyebrow hair a few years back when I was having thyroid issues. The hair never regrew and I had been using brow liner for a few years to fill them in. I was referred to Hengameh for permanent eyebrows by the woman who was dying my eyebrows at the time. I am SO glad I went to Hengameh. My «new» brows look completely natural, my family and husband are amazed at how natural they look. Hengameh worked with me to get just the right shape for my eyebrows that really opened up and «finished» my face. Hangameh is so friendly and fun to work with, I enjoyed every minute of our time together. I couldn’t be more pleased with my results!

I went to this salon to have my eye brows and liner tattooed. This is an upscale salon with very nice people. I had the owner, Hengameh, do the work and I am very pleased with how natural looking the brows turned out. She attractively reshaped and perfectly colored them, all with her very gentle technique. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

Hengameh did an awesome job cosmetic tattooing my eye brows and eye liner. She used the latest technique called embroidering for my eye brows. This was developed in China in 2013 and I believe she is the only person in Portland trained in this technique. Instead of using a tattoo machine which creates a series of dots, she used individual hand strokes to simulate each hair. It is incredibly natural looking. Hengameh has an artistic touch and created eye brows that give a visual lift to my eyes.
She also color corrected a mistake made by another person who came too close my tear duct with eye liner and left a black blob. I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. The salon is beautiful and Hengameh is a gracious owner who takes great care and pride in helping you achieve natural looking beauty with permanent makeup.

I went to Cindy for color. I explained exactly what I was looking for, basic hair color (and I also provided my color formula for her to follow). The first time she did a decent job, nothing spectacular but adequate. Each time thereafter, the quality just went downhill. She basically slapped the color on really sloppy and not only would I have color along the outside of the hairline, but an inch inwards that stained my skin for days. A few times I went home w/​gobs of color still on my ears and back of my neck. On a subsequent visit, I asked her to use a color block along the hairline to avoid this from happening. Again the first few times it worked fine. The last time I went for color, not only did my scalp burn and itch, but the next day I noticed whole patches of gray on the sides and top of my head. The color on top looked light and faded. It appeared I’d had nothing done! I’m fairly certain she didn’t even use the correct formula for my color or mixed it incorrectly. When I (very nicely) mentioned it to her, she informed me that’s why she hated to use color block because it could block the color from adhering to the hair. I reminded her it hadn’t been a problem the prior times she’d done my hair. Furthermore, in my opinion, maybe if she wasn’t so sloppy putting the color on in the first place, it wouldn’t be an issue. Then I mentioned that there was gray on the top of my head as well — she said she didn’t know what to say about it. She was very defensive and unhelpful. Another better stylist would have wanted to make it right, would have said please come back and I’ll fix it. Nope, not here. She actually gave me the impression it was my fault that she did a lousy job. Won’t be going back.

I went to see Hangremeh for permanent/​cosmetic tattooing. I sought her out as she was recommended by a dear friend who loves the permanent eye liner that Hangremeh did. I made my appointment and had the consult with her just before the tattooing commenced. Hangremeh recommended that I use permanent Tattoo Ink and that it would over time shift and adjust, blending with my skin. It sounded good and went along with her recommendation.
I will announce here that I did not do any research on proper permanent cosmetic tattooing protocol and take full accountability for not educating myself to find out that pigment is the only medium that should be use as it fades over time to allow regular touch ups that match the contouring of the eye through maturing grace. I should not have relied on the practitioner to educate me or sway my permanent choice.
Overall, the quality of Hangremeh’s technique was top notch. Despite that I am unhappy with the outcome.
There is a fleshy gap between my lashes and the eye liner. Though it is subtle and most other people do not notice it, I don’t like it. Since the tattoo healed I have needed to put on eye liner over the tattoo liner to make it look attractive. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my house without make up on. I feel unnatural looking. Hangremeh did advise that the tattoo liner would soften and blend over time and I was hoping that it would do so and would grow to like it. Now, a little more than 2 years later and I still don’t like it.
I contacted Hangremeh for help to reverse or correct the tattoo. She was EXTREMELY DEFENSIVE and insinuated that it was my fault for waiting 2 years to contact her with my displeasure, preventing her from touching it up to a satisfactory aesthetic. I told her that her work was fine, I just didn’t like how it worked on me. She continued to harass me on how it didn’t make sense that I waited two years to contact her. I explained that I go to medical school and work full time plus my hopes that the permanent liner would grow to my liking after time. She continued to raise her voice, get agitated, and continued to ask why I would wait for so long and wonder how it was possible that I didn’t like it. I said to her that I’m not accusing her of any wrong doing, that I’m coming to her for help. That I’m asking for a solution, whatever that may be. Regardless of what I said she berated me and hounded me about not contacting her for 2 years. I told her all I wanted was for her to correct the work in whatever fashion was available and if she couldn’t do that then she should suggest that I see someone else for their assistance. Her response was, «You should see someone else,» and then raised her voice louder, practically yelling at me about the same nonsense. I was unable to get a word in and just hung up.

Roze N. is the only one I’ll let cut and color my hair! She’s always so fun, and has great suggestions for what’s new and hip since I never want to be plain or ordinary with my style!

I’ve been going to Carpe Diem since about April and every experience has been awesome! I go to Roze, who has made having long hair so much fun! She’s given me great styles with feathers, trims, and highlights. Not only does my hair look great, she has great advice on what would look good on you. I can go in with an idea, but she really knows what would fit you. Everyone there is so nice, it’s easy to get to, and the décor is so comfy and elegant. Best salon ever!

First, love the salon, inside and out. So classy and decorated with such creativity!
Second, the stylist I went to, Rosie, was just amazing! So outgoing, yet not chatty. After 20 years of having my curly hair cut and colored, it was getting boring and dull. Rosie added layers in just the right way to show off my curls or let me use an iron to turn them into soft waves! Love it!
And she added highlights in layers I had never had done and it really was wonderful. I’ve been told I look 10 years younger! No better compliment than that! Thank you Rosie!

This is an amazing salon with amazing service! Rosie gave me an experience I will never forget. I was welcomed immedietly by their host and treated like a star the moment I walked in. The entire staff has a great energy which helped me feel comfortable right away. I was undecided about the drastic change I wanted for my hair but Rosie gave me several helpful tools to guide me through my decision. She then deleivered outstanding service by giving me exactly what I wanted, and with a smile the entire time! (which says a lot because im difficult when it comes to my long fussy hair =))
I recommend this salon because there is nothing to complain about, from service and prices to location! Rosie saw me right away, fit my budget and then even recommended somewhere to grab a bite to eat down the street in the cute town of sellwood. Deffinitely try this salon, and ask for Rosie!

Go to ROSIE!!! She did such a great job on my hair (: she knew exactly what i wanted. She colored my hair, I went from my old highlights to a chocolate brown for winter, my hair looks so shiny and healthy! I love what she did!!! I highly recommend that you go to ROSIE. New stylist ROSIE is amazing!!! I said I wanted a «look» and its exactly what I got! Brought in pics to help, but she didn’t really need them! She gave really great tips and tricks on how I could style my new hair. And dried and styled it at the end with no extra charge. This salon is so cute too!!! Would HIGHLY recommend anyone going there!!! Ask for Rosie!

It’s a beautiful thing to find a new stylist — especially with a nickname like Rapunzel. I have long, wavy hair and am very picky about how it’s cut. I called this salon out of the blue — because my best friend always says «Carpe Diem — Seize the Day» so I dialed blind without so much as a visit. I vote Kevin Best-​Blind-​Date-​With-​A-​Stylist ever. He fit me in the next day for cut and highlights (we’re talking 2+ hours) and on a SATURDAY. I left with a new style that literally has people talking. Asking me if I take vitamins to make my hair so pretty. You can’t pay for PR like that. And the shampoo bowl doesn’t hurt your neck! NEXT: Spa time, I have to try everything on their menu!
