A Touch of Vanity

I am a gal with very short hair and I get it cut every four weeks because short fuzzy hair is not pretty! I lost my former stylist and had a bad experience with someone who didn’t know how to give a short and stylish cut to a woman. I found Vest through a friend and I’m so happy I did! I receive many compliments on how nice my hair looks, and she listens and responds about the little nuances of short hair (ie, I want it to swoosh a little here, not be as heavy here, and this should spike up, but not stick up if I don’t spike it up.)
She can be a bit intimidating at first, but once she warms up, she is just the sweetest gal! Get her talking about her kids, and before you know it you’ll have a fabulous cut at a very fair price!

Being a guy, ambience doesn’t usually mean a great big deal to me when getting my hair cut. A Touch of Vanity stands out, though.
Vesta, the proprieter, has transformed the space (it used to be a blue-​hair salon, in the elderly sense — no offense to blue-​haired people of any age, I’m just sayin’) into a stylish retro-​funky haven for the soon-​to-​be-​shorn who are looking for a little eye-​candy and conversation whilst getting their locks trimmed and/​or rearranged. You would think that the place would be frequented almost exclusively by the punky-​haired mesh-​stockinged set of either gender, but the clientele appear to run the gamut from moms with youngsters in tow to even a few of the afore-​mentioned seniors who either don’t mind the re-​vamping of their once-​familiar salon or just don’t have the energy left to find a new place (I’ll assume the former). Engage Vesta in conversation about movies or the latest celebrity scandal and you’ll find that she’s not quite as aloof as she might appear upon first meeting.
Four stars only because it’s a bit pricey and my wife has said her head comes out square-​ish after a trim. My hair always looks fine, but I’m a guy. What do I care?

Vespa has cut my hair several times. She does a great job and I am always happy with the service. The salon is really convenient and Iand she has been able to take me as a walk-​in appointment before.
