The Diner is not fantastic because of any crazy shananagins, the diner is the place to go when you want a consistently satisfactory meal. They have a huge range of items, from delicious challah French toast to delicately crafted sandwiches. The diner is huge, fitting many people at once, feeding those of Port Washington. The staff is very nice and it is a great place for kids. The overall aroma is genuine. Go to the Diner for breakfast and I garuntee that you will not be disappointed.

Went for brunch with my mom and sister. Mom had Greek Frittata which came with potatoes and toast and a Bloody Mary for $ 1 extra. Sis had the veggie burger which was excellent! I had a bite and thought it was amazing and I consider myself a Veggie Burger expert! It was thick and the right consistency and the flavors were superb. I had the Greek lemon soup which I loved. It was rich, not too lemony, had nice big chunks of chicken breast in it and a nice smooth texture. Service was warm and friendly. Will def be back more often.

Have been here for breakfast a couple times and it’s always great. Ordered for take-out /different story! Got the veggie wrap which is supposed to have steamed veggies, cheese, beans, rice, tomato sauce and sour cream but the wrap only had veggies. Nothing else! Total bummer as it was a bit bland/tasteless but it was fresh and the fried were great. I would try it again with all the ingredients next time!

Their customer service skills have improved in the past year so we started ordering from them again. Their food is your basic diner food, nothing fantastic. IHOP is way better. They are still very pricey, that’s why I didn’t give them 5 stars. I still think $ 13 bucks for pancakes is a bit much. I must say their Greek Lemon Soup is the most delicious soup I’ve ever had in my life! We must order it twice a week especially with the cold weather. Their Port Wrap is also very good. I just wish they would lower their prices a bit.

this used to be my favorite place to go after work and eat the waiter chris is the best and so is the help from the cooks to the bus boys i spent a average of $ 26 per meal here aprx 17 – 18 for food 4 times a week or so and a nice tip for chris my ny ranger fan buddy waiter server he is a very nice person. but let me tell you the owners are very rude and take good customers for granted i will not get into it but apx 5k per year will be spent in other local places. very rude owners. lost a good customer for good ! we have many other choices in this little town and from what i hear from other people its the same thing owners are rude = go elsewhere !

Your average diner. Food was ok and service was below average. The windows at the entrance need to be cleaned. They were very dirty. The place overall was clean.

Bad attitude. Every single time I come or call to Order. Too early for that every single morning. Staffs are always in bad mood for some reason.

best diner around quality et al, food is great and service as well. Very Family friendly too. As a connoisseur if diners since I was a teen in NYC and beyond it is in the top 5(EJ’s, Manatus NYC etc). Brunch is always great and lunch dinner as well burgers among the best. Eggs Benedict as well and milk shakes too. Relaxing no rush atmosphere well priced.

The food is passable. The service depends on who you’re dealing with. One of the women, she’s not a waitress as far as I know has a huge attitude. The customer is seldom right at this establishment.

Service was great here, the waiter was patient, nice, and accommodating to any changes/substitutes we wanted. But the food was alright. I ordered the salmon benedict and the salmon was a little too smoke and the cheese used had a distinct flavor that didn’t go with the salmon, but I got sweet potato fries instead of home fries and those were good.

This has become my late night haunt when I crave a little greasy something. The décor is bright and inviting and the entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. My faves here are the Matzoh ball soup, they actually use schmaltz in the balls! Their tuna melt is phenomenal and I’ve actually enjoyed, a diner staple btw, their chicken parmigiana. They also make some delicious chocolate or vanilla egg cream too. Their ingredients seem fresh and the menu run the gamut of traditional breakfast faves to Greek/Italian staples to the usual diner fare of disco fries. They aren’t adverse to making exceptions or special requests when asked either. It’s a very casual neighborhood spot with lots of locals who come and are greeted by first name and hugs.

I’m from Brooklyn, but just had a reading with the incredible psychic medium Jeffrey Wands. My sister and I wanted to get a bite to eat and he recommended the Port Washington Diner. It was around 6ish and although the diner was crowded, we were able to sit right away(when we left, there were people waiting). The diner itself is big and decorated pretty. I had matzo ball soup for the first time EVER in my whole life… and it was so delicious that I asked for another order to take home for lunch the next day. I also had a salad with beets/goat cheese/asparagus with a dijon vinaigrette. The candied walnuts on top were amazing. My sister ordered the turkey club — pretty good(but how can you mess up a turkey club really). So all in all we were satisfied and I am dreaming about that matzo ball soup right now!!!

Back again at the diner. I’m tempted toadd a 5th star because I like to rate places based on their performance within their genre. This diner really is great, tossed salad is large, fresh and cheap. Zucchini chips made in house(are you kidding me, this is a diner), they were great. Finally, Chris the waiter is a super nice guy, very thoughtful and accommodating. Minus one star for refusing to sub out fries and a cup of soup for a side salad, other than that, no complaints, delicious food, including some surprise house made delights and great service.
