Went home to visit family and stopped for a late lunch, after hearing great word of mouth reviews for Roy’s. I waited 40 minutes for my food(with a half full restaurant) and then the roast beef panini I ordered was cold. The roast beef was ice cold, the cheese was slightly melted. Maybe it would have tasted better if I had received it warm? The potato salad tasted off. Can’t really identify why. Don’t think I’ll be going back because this was very disappointing.

As many times as I have ordered, mostly take out, I have been disappointed, I’m sorry to say. The potato salad tastes like you are eating straight mustard, the order that is placed is never right and I have called in for an order a half a dozen times and each time, I have to call back and repeat to them what I asked for in the first place. I wish the meals were healthier. .. but I and giving up on this establishment. Maryann

Just had the best fried chicken I have had for several years. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Seasoning was delicious. Soup was typical of a 5 star bistro. Butter nut squash with pears. You would never find this soup in Port Jervis. Try the cake and pies. Danielle is an excellent baker. Ordered 2 pies for Thanksgiving(mixed berry & apple). Our family is still talking about how delicious they were. Give Roy’s a chance and you won’t be disappointed. ENJOY.

I went there at last week with my wife and in laws. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. My wife and MIL got broccoli soup. They did not like it, as it had a different taste, maybe too much pepper. Maybe some like it, but they did not. My wife’s roast beef was pretty good, as sometimes places use old RB for this plate. This would be a plate to try. I got a 9oz burger requested medium, which is pink in the middle. My FIL got his well done. When delivered, mine was cooked more than his. I told the waitress and she noted she would bring out another. I only asked for the burger, not the roll or toppings. No need to waste them. When the new burger was brought out the old was taken away. The new burger was still not pink. Yeah I know these burgers are thin but a medium burger should have pink(maybe cook shorter and not press it out on the grill or use a grill press). It had more juice in it so I just ate it and moved along. But my FIL noticed people by the counter, employees, watching us and smiling. Made me immediately think what did they do to it. That alone made me decide to NEVER go back. They may have not done anything, but it was the impression I got(even my in-laws felt that). This is my opinion and you could try this place and make your own decision. I gave it 3 stars because the wait staff was friendly and courteous. No manager came over to check, even after the burger swap. I know a chef and restaurant owner that would bend over backwards to make sure all was perfect. Not here. The roast beef was good and should be tried if you are there. I won’t be back, neither will my in laws who live in town.

The two breakfasts I had at the Pike Street location were great. The two lunches I had at the E. Main Street location were not so great. Someone is too heavy handed with the salt when it comes to the gravy and the cheese sauce. I cannot enjoy food when my lips go numb. While I was there on a Friday around 3:00 p.m. folks at the next table were served chili that they said was«room temperature». I believe this because the shredded cheese on top was not melted. They no longer serve the same hard rolls and these are not as good as the old ones. The presentation of the food is sloppy… get a big enough plate or wipe the corners of the plate. They show amazing looking food on FB and when you order it, looks like it was thrown on plate. Also, who puts large cucumber slices and grape tomatoes in a Taco Salad? I just saw photos of a «Chef Salad». Honestly, it looks like a mash up of Chef Salad and Antipasto… has components from both salads. The servers are distracted and disorganized and walk away from you when you are still speaking to them. I don’t know what they write down on their pad because they forget what you told them and then they forget to bring you what you ordered. A coffee cup that is dirty on the outside and Iced Tea that tastes like dishwater and does not even have any ice in it. The owner Roy needs to get the cooks and wait staff in order immediately and crack the whip on them. Also, please get more shelves for the bakery fridge, pies piled on the edges of another pie is unappetizing. 12÷14÷15 Ignore the multitude of shills that came on with their first review and how wonderful this place is. 12÷16÷15− To the Sock Puppet that sends me nasty messages, you are not going to win. If you really liked this place, you would not have all come on here the same day with all your 5 star ratings. If you want real reviews, go to Roy’s Corner at Homers on Facebook.
