Palm Valley Fish Market was delicious. Shrimp and grits were phenomenal. Highly recommend it. Mussels were very good as well. Excellent service.

The BEST Shrimp & Grits I’ve ever had! So yummy! Everything on the menu is delicious so it’s hard to decide what to order. It is a very popular place so make a reservation or show up early to get a table.

My husband and I tried Palm Valley Fish Camp for the 1st time, and I must say it was an amazing experience. My husband, ordered the 4-portion seafood dish– fired… simply filling and everything was fresh! I on the other hand, ordered the Mayport Shrimp and Grit, and must advise if you’re ever visiting Palm Valley for dinner… you must try this amazing dish! The Fried Green Tomatoes’ are also a guaranteed like! If asked, will we ever return? My answer, we’ve found a new favorite dinner spot.

Visited for a week and this was the favorite. Food was outstanding! I recommend scallops on the half shell, Greek salad, whole fried fish, collards, seafood linguini.(Pass on the pan fried trout… not impressive) Now how can I get a whole chocolate chip pecan pie? That desert was amazing. I think about it every day since I tried it there. LOL. Will be on a mission to make it when I get home. There were a lot of tables getting the bread pudding. This place is killing it with the desserts. Well done Palm Valley!

Reservation highly recommended. Small establishment that is always busy(and for a good reason). If you are waiting for a table, there is a small bar area(you can eat there too). Décor is upscale beach scene(since its on the intercoastal). Wonderful menu of seafood selections. There is a dish that you can pick what seafood selects you want and how you want them prepared. Delicious and nice portions. Lively restaurant. Valet parking due to limited parking spaces. We will be coming back.

We had an appetizer of the fried alligator tail and it was yummy. Their datil aoili sauce was very tasty. For dinner I ordered shrimp and grits and my husband ordered the fried scallop basket. He’s a bit picky so he asked for a double portion of fries instead of hush puppies. My dinner was excellent! My husbands was a bit under fried in that the scallops were a bit mushy and the breading was not crunchy at all. His double portion of fries was not… it was just regular but I will say his portion of scallops was nice. We told the waitress and she couldn’t have cared less. All in all, a very good value for your money but not worth 5 stars.

Palm Valley Fish Camp restaurant was recommended along with two other restaurants by my sons co worker. We decided to come here because of the recommendation and the reviews that were posted on Unilocal.Let me tell you, we were not disappointed. The restaurant was crowded, we made a reservation for 7:00PM and waited only 5 minutes for a table. Our waitress KATE was great, very helpful with lots of suggestions. The food was excellent and would definitely come back. Thank you Palm Valley Fish Camp for a great meal. Vince L from New Jersey

Loooooved it. Great little place. Normally when I see #1 rated for the town I’m skeptical. But loved this location. It is SMALL, which is nice. Complimentary valet parking, which is very helpful. Outdoor seating as well, and being from Connecticut, eating outside in February was a lot of fun. Menu: Lots of great fish options, and not dominated by typical«fried» selections from other«Fish Camps». Lots of fresh, healthy, options. Recommendations: Broiled oysters were fantastic. My wife LOVED the spicy seafood linguini Another member of our party wants to come back just for the broiled seafood platter! Lots of options! Plus their daily specials are great. Highly recommend.

Nice place on the water. Beet salad was great! But the avocado and shrimp salad was off. Asian dressing in a seafood restaurant? I think we should’ve been warned. The fish sandwich was very good. Overall, not impressed, but glad I tried it.

Great service! Misty is wonderful! The fried whole fish is fantastic, done right. Seafood soup is a must try. The Mahi-Mahi fillet is done to perfection. Must have the White chocolate bread pudding. Don’t miss to visit the place if you are at Ponte Vedra area.

I’ve eaten here three times — each time is better than the last! Shrimp and grits is a MUST, as is the octopus and bean salad.

Alright, maybe I’m just turned off due to all the hype? There’s good food– don’t get me wrong, just nothing amazing. The restaurant is cute just very small and LOUD. My boyfriend and I were sat at a trouble for four, I moved to be next to him since we couldn’t hear each other. Even next to him, it was hard to hear! Maybe it was just the night, but I’ve never really had this issue unless I’m at some crowded bar. Portions are large, but aren’t all fish camps? The calamari was okay. I love pesto and had never had a pesto calamari. I had the fried scallops basket… The fries were good but the scallops tasted«fishy». Would I go back? Sure. Would I be excited? Not at all. There’s so many more options in Jacksonville, I just was not nearly as impressed and I was expecting.

Had a leisurely lunch on a drizzly Saturday – hard to beat this place for consistency and great service. Frances took great care of us, the Mahi avocado sandwich was amazing as were the fish and grits. The freshness of the seafood plus their knack of seasonings and flavor that compliment the seafood keep up coming back!

My brother’s sister took us here on our first night visiting Jacksonville this past week, and I was definitely a fan. We decided to try the house chardonnay, as it was a good value($ 6 I believe) and it was good!(4). We then had appetizers, and I tried the calamari(5) and the greek salad(4). I thought the calamari was delicious, so I would definitely recommend that. Also, the kids loved the alligator bites, and we had to get a second plate to stop them from fighting over it! For dinner, the waiter recommended one of the special preparations, but he told me that the salmon could be substituted and was amazing, and he was right! The salmon was definitely a 5 and the dish overall was a 4 – 5 for me. My boyfriend got the seafood platter and was very happy with his dish as well. For some reason, his sister’s cod was fried when it shouldn’t have been, but she sent it back no problem. Because we had finished our meal before they could return it to her, they comped her the dish and gave her the freshly cooked one anyway. Now that’s what I call good service. As stated before as well, the waiter was awesome too, so I would give this place a 4 – 5 for service too. The ambiance is okay inside, but I love that it’s on the water. Even for a Tuesday night it was quite crowded, so you can tell the food is great. If in the area, I’d definitely check this place out.

This is the third fish camp location I’ve tried and it’s pretty consistent with the others. Affluent crowd with a dock for patrons to pull up on their boats. Our waiter was great, but he did forget to bring out one of our dishes — it was comped. I love the scallops on a half shell here. These are like seafood-crack. I’m hooked. Other dishes are perfectly good, but not the best I’ve had. We ate fried green tomatoes, clam bellies(both could have been more crisp) and my entrée was the rare tuna, which I found too salty with a salty sauce. I’ve yet to find a place in town that really nails this one — please message me if you do! So why the 4 stars? Atmosphere and location on the water — amazing. Hilarious and helpful waiter — check. Food — beautiful presentation and consistently good. Best thing I’ve had so far is the whole fried catch of the day! And those scallops tho…

Decided on a whim to come here for a late lunch/early dinner on a beautiful«winter» Sunday. We were immediately greeted by the hostess who promptly sat us at a table which had windows overlooking the water and the boat dock area. The atmosphere and ambience was nice, not to loud nor too quiet. Their were a few couples there and a few families. They had a station playing on Pandora that I thought was perfect for the atmosphere, I think it was Hozier radio or something similar. For food, we decided on starting with the raw oysters and Baked Scallops on the ½ shell. The oysters were sized nicely and the Scallops were delicious! Only 5 scallops came out for the price of $ 12.50 so I was hoping they would be flavored perfectly and they didn’t disappoint! For entrees we went with the Shrimp & Grits(my all time fave anywhere I go that has this) and the Mahi special. The Shrimp & Grits was very very good. I have only had better in New Orleans but this was the best by far in Jax/Ponte Vedra. The grits were creamy, buttery and thick and the shrimp was cooked perfect. The Mahi was cooked and seasoned beautifully, more of a creole/savory flavor. It was adorned with creamy grits and collard greens, the greens had a sweet vinegar taste and was a great compliment to the Mahi and grits. Last but not least we finished with the Bread Pudding which, based off several other reviews, one saying«The Bread Pudding is life changing!» my expectations were HIGH! I have Biscotti’s, Julington Creek Fish Camp, Amaretti Bakery and a few other exceptional places to compare it to and it was lacking… It came in a relatively large dish(larger than Biscottis) and had cranberries baked inside. It was served with a scoop of ice cream with a caramel? drizzle on top. I believe it fell short for me because of the cranberries. I think it gave this dish too much of an acidic/tart flavor. But some may enjoy this flavor combination. Overall, the food seemed to take a tad too long in between each course especially given that they were not very busy when we came in, but if everything is fresh and made to order I will excuse the timing. My favorite part, after dining we walked outside onto the dock and got to breathe in the fresh ocean air. Several boats were out and we watched them ride up and down. Their were several outdoor chairs that I can definately see myself enjoying the day with a nice book and a glass of wine from their bar. On a side note, they do look as though they have a great variety of wines to choose from, but I cannot attest for how they taste ;)
