Mr Sushi

This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I were in the mood for some sushi. He loves all kinds of sushi and I personally only like sweet potato sushi (I know odd) so that made it difficult to find a place that did this. Well after driving for alittle we found Mr. Sushi! He ran in grabbed a menu and we started flipping through it. Their prices are great! You’re definitely getting more than what you pay for and the quality is out of this world. They also send coupons out every month proving they actually care about their customers. The service is ¹⁰⁄₁₀. There’s a young man named Ian and he made our experience great. He was so bubbly and sweet, he made sure we were happy and comfortable and he is a big reason why we had to come back. This is the go to place! Nice, classy, comfortable and that’s all a bonus to the wonderful food and service! Forever customers!

Unfortunately they have tiny portions of sushi with questionable quality and high prices. Staff was friendly though.

We did take out. Call taker was great. Very professional. Food was delivered hot and as ordered. The spicy shrimp Raman is my favorite along with vegetable dumplings. One of my favorite take out places.

Awesome service, amazing energy over the phone, provided recommendations and told us to pair it with their wings which were amazing, EVERYTHING here was amazing this is way out of my way but I will drive there any day of the week love this place!!!

Favorite sushi spot! The food is amazing! The wait staff is so wonderful and attentive. Found this spot randomly and now my family and I have become regulars. The have a great selection of perfectly balanced hand rolls, the freshest seafood, and have a monthly interchangeable small menu (special rolls, appetizers, entrees) that always houses a surprise, in addition to their main menu. Have been coming here for over a year now and they are consistent with great food and service. Check them out you won’t be disappointed!

Placed an order online and it arrived within half an hour! I ordered the tropical mango and chef rolls and they were delicious! The portions were also more than reasonable! I couldn’t even finish both rolls. Very impressed, definitely recommend!

Very good! Very fresh! And not very expensive! They also deliver which is great! Friendly staff as well. Have been here and had delivery several times over the years and I can’t complain

I have only been here once on Valentine’s day a few years ago and it was amazing! I love sushi and their menu was packed with not only great varieties of sushi, rolls, and sushami, but their prices were amazingly perfect. I recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to pay a ton of money of just a few rolls for themselves. They also have deals of the holiday (like Valentine’s Day) which was 2 dishes for a set price.

Very good, very consistent sushi with great, attentive service. BYOB. Also offers Udon, Ramen, and select Korean dishes.

There’s not many sushi places around this area so Mr. Sushi is usually a go to spot for my boyfriend and I when we’re craving some good Japanese food. This past weekend I was craving soondubu and according to their website, they have soondubu on their menu. I was super excited to go because in the past their service is great and their sushi is fresh too, but when we got there I was so disappointed to find that they don’t have it. What’s the point of putting it on your menu online and falsely advertise please update your website if you don’t serve that anymore. 3 stars for my experience this past weekend. I had the tako salad which was extremely flavorful and good but a little bit too tangy.
I hope in the future if I go back the menu is accurate in what they really serve at the restaurant.

I am in love with Mr. Sushi we try to go every Friday for date night with my husband and I look forward to it the whole week. We try to go before 7 pm otherwise you will have to wait about 15 mins (not too bad) for a table. Everything we have ever ordered from here has been outstanding and super fresh! It is def becoming a tradition to go every Friday it is my happy place

This is an amazing little restaurant with food better than you think it would be. Staff is very courteous, the service is great and the food is outstanding!!!

Been here several times and it’s always great. We’re greeted as soon as we walk in. The staff is very friendly. The food is super fresh. The menu is just what you’d expect. They have outdoor seating in nicer weather and, they deliver.
Whenever my wife and I go out for Sushi, this is the first choice. One tip though, get there earlier than usual, they fill up fast. When we got there, the place was half full and then completely full by the time we had our meal.

Great sushi– Spider Roll, Dragon Roll, Lincoln Park roll– everything here is good. I have never had a bad plate of sushi here and I’ve visited Mr. Sushi at least 15 times during the course of the last 7 years.
It is a BYOB so don’t be shy about walking on with a 1.5 of wine. They will take care of corkage for you.
The ONLY (absolute ONLY) reason that Mr. Sushi earns 3 stars out of 5 is that the wait staff is always absolutely overwhelmed. Mr. Sushi himself needs to put an ad in the paper and get MORE HELP! Prepare for a 2 – 3 hour stay during the rush hours… I’m NOT kidding.

Don’t get me wrong we come to Mr. SUSHI all of the time because they have great sushi which is the only reason I gave it three stars but the service is sub par. This is now the second time where we had terrible service. Last time we had a waiter that literally disappeared during our meal and was no where to be found. Other servers kept walking past but not one stopped to check on us.
Tonight was a similar experience. I walked in and was sat and greeted immediately. I asked for water and ordered apps. I was brought warm water with no ice. Let me add that I’m pregnant and it’s 80 degrees out. I asked for ice which took approximately a good 5 minutes to get and there was only one other table and four servers. We ordered the rolls all with soy paper and when they finally came out 2 out of 4 were made with seaweed. My veggie roll came out first and it took about 5 minutes to get wasabi and another 5 to get spicy mayo. I had no water and had to ask for them to bring a container of warm water. I didn’t even attempt to ask for ice since it melted as soon as it hit the water. Not sure what is going on but they really have to improve their service considering there were only 2 tables, 4 waiters and two sushi guys and barely any service.

Stopped in for lunch and ordered the sashimi for two.
Came with soup and salad and a decent assortment of fish which were all fresh. Service was attentive and the meal was reasonably priced.
Would visit again.

Sushi is tasty and prepared very quickly. Waiter was very nice, and rolls were brought out on nice long plates with a nice presentation.
I had the spicy roll lunch combo and had a lot of rolls for $ 12. Was very satisfied with my lunch. The green tea was very good and came in a cool little kettle.
A great place and I recommend it to anyone nearby.

This place is still a great spot to go for a great meal! I ventured away from sushi into their dinner platters and that was the best decision I could have made. I got the bi bam bap (sp*) and it was sooo good. Definitely going to get it everytime from now on. Only thing was we came during their lunch-​we felt so sad interrupting them but it was worth it!
Can’t wait to go back!

Very clean, very nice people, byob, good prices, very fresh fish. Creative menu!
My only complaint was the spicy tuna wasn’t spicy. In their defense maybe it was just a bad batch.
They have a really awesome online ordering system, point and click and then eat! The delivered to Kinnelon and sushi was LEGIT. I wish there were better pictures of the rolls on their website but I was able to get some info from Unilocal to order. I will most definitely order there again (maybe tonight)
