It was Fourth of July in the sea. The LED from boards were scattered in a spectrum of lights through the surf. We were right by the drawbridge so the view was more than spectacular. There were at least twenty boats lighted with holiday spirit themes. They were all fantastic. Having been in one of the boats at the Hedrick winter fest I know how exciting it can be. However pompano floats were nice but I wish more boaters and sailers participated. Compared to the 50 plus boats participating in winter fest, this parade falls a bit short. The parade ended too weekly and very few boats really stood out. I wish the sailers would have put more emphasis and more lighting to their boats. Maybe wits just me but besides music and lights you can get really creative and have a projector by the railing and have videos projected on the sails… Just a great thought!!! Overall it was jive and great to leave Miami for a while. The experience was nice and a warm up since the Hard Rock winter fest boat holiday parade is next Saturday.
