My fiancés father was stationed in Germany for 8 months before he was born and this little quaint place reminded him of that. The food was on point(they said)! I’m vegan so I stuck to a pretzel and salad but the mustard with the pretzel was the best I’ve ever had. They said the schnitzel was delicious.

I’m sure most of the travelers experienced a joy of finding tiny little place, way off any«restaurant rows», serving most amazing food of your entire trip. Cypress Nook was that tiny little jewel, where we had simply a perfect dinner. We took Deutsche Wurst Platter as an appetizer — 3 types of sausages(wursts) were delicious(they come from a German butcher in Florida and New Jersey), and red cabbage was just superb — I can’t even describe it. Veal Shnitzel with mushroom gravy(Jagershnitzel) was another home run. This piece of meat, lightly breaded and perfectly fried was simply perfectly cooked and every little morsel delicious. Apple strudel — light, delicate and literally effervescent — with a cup of coffee was delicious way to finish the meal. Most highly recommended — if you are in the area, make sure to eat at Cypress Nook.

I came here for breakfast on my way to Orlando, I Google good place for breakfast and the reviews were all in point. It’s been there for over 30 years. It looks like a medium size house turned into a courtyard restaurant, you feel like if you just got up at your grandma’s place and she is cooking you breakfast. Because of the size it might get a little loud inside but it’s totally worth it. I ordered the home special omelette with potatos, baco, cheese and onions which comes with any side of bread you want, I got it with Crousant and butter. GREAT. Prices are normal not more than any other breakfast joint. Thanks bathrooms are kept very clean and cozy. I hope you enjoy as I did. What are you eating Miami?

This is my 4th and last time coming to Cypress Nook. We arrived around 10:45am and waited outside in the rain for 45 mins to be seated. Although we were on the verge of leaving we decided to give it one last shot. The 12X12 room was filled with 40 people and 2 screaming babies. It was so loud nobody at our table could even hear each other. Although I ordered decaf the server kept filling my cup with regular coffee. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 orders of French Toast which looked and tasted like a kid made it. I hate to bash this place but I’m just being honest. Save your time and money… go to Denny’s. FYI, they don’t accept Amex.

We came here and did not know you have to «sign yourself in»? What is going on. There is no sign to do so. You are just suppose to «know». Really? The place is busy enough and they make enough money to hire a proper host or hostess. It’s called the restaurant business. So, after the long wait, the old lady just comes out and yells my name and doesn’t even look for the response of the person next in line. That may work if you are herding cows, not people. We then sat down in the cramped table. The server takes our order. He was very nice he came rather quickly. This is a plus in my book. The food came out. Soggy French toast… my favorite. That’s what happens when you rush French toast. It use to be good. Hire more cooks while your at it. Reality is, is that is you never stop improving. Update the carpet, expand the size of the dining area, hire a host or hostess. This place needs new management.

Soooo good… Small place so might be a wait, but definitely a secret hideout! Portions are huge… Mimosas only $ 5.50 and they are twice size of any I’ve ever had. Staff is friendly, seems like alot of the customers are regulars… After having dinner, we went back next morning for brunch and both were above expectations! We will now become regulars!!! A must if you find yourself in Pompano Beach.

This was the first time I had ever been to Cyprus nook. As soon as I walked in I spotted two friends of mine that I hadn’t seen in a long time and I sat down and had breakfast with my friends. If you want traditional or German style food for breakfast lunch and dinner Cypress nook is the place to come. It’s not a very large establishment but it really doesn’t have to be. locals only(its a hidden gem for sure). There is indoor and outdoor seating and it’s very clean and the food comes out fresh and hot without any delays. I chose the corned beef hash and scrambled eggs with hash browns and whole wheat toast and a huge mug of coffee because after my horrible experience trying to find parking at the courthouse and getting out of jury duty I really needed that cup of coffee and some food because my nerves were jangled. Parking is also a little tricky, it’s one way and you have to make a u-turn in their parking lot to get back out onto the street(Mc Nab Road). I ate everything except for one quarter of the whole wheat toast it was that good. I’m used to corn beef hash being really salty and fatty with a lot of potatoes, this was not. I enjoyed every forkful. I would definitely return to try some of the German food because apparently it has a German owner that has been there for many years and prides itself on being American and German food. I definitely will return and breakfast was very reasonable $ 8 for the corned beef hash, $ 9 all together with the coffee, under $ 10 for breakfast at a restaurant sounds great to me and the food was definitely worth it. Seeing my friends was also great so that was a win win situation. I had always heard of Cypress Nook but never got the chance to eat here until today and I am glad I did. Breakfast and good friends and hot coffee is always the best way to start any day!

So sad to write this one. I love German food. Both my husband and are German and I cook German from time to time. I was so looking forward to the pretzels. A friend and I went for lunch. There was almost nothing German on the menu. I asked the server if they had Spatzel. She didn’t even know what it was. She then informed us that they are like 2 separate restaurants with mother running lunch and breakfast and son with a different chef at night. We ordered anyway and it wasn’t good. I had the ruban and my friend the spinach salad. Both agreed big bummer. The waitress was not friendly or attentive. I won’t be back.

I’m probably the worst person to review a German restaurant. I’m a first generation Canadian/American who grew up in a German Immigrant family, with all kinds of amazing home made German food pretty much every single day. That being said, Cypress Nook is definitely an authentic German restaurant, but in my opinion, with average German food. The ambiance was great, the German staff was fun and engaging, and I would definitely eat there again if I was in the area and had a craving for a dish from the Homeland. The style of food is from Northern Germany. It was very reminiscent of the style of food my Grandmother on my Fathers side cooked. Don’t pass this by if you’re looking for an authentic German experience. I would definitely go again, but I can still get better German cooking at home or visiting my relatives.

You had me at «good morning»! I know that I am always honest in my reviews and have never stated what I didn’t sincerely believe. With Cypress Nook — I was so blown away the first two visits that I figured one more time before I leave a review and today — they did it again —- fantastic, delicious, awesome pricing and the best service! I had the eggs Benedict and OMG, It’s was so tasty — perfect amount of hollandaise sauce, toasted muffins and hash browns to die for. My server was very sweet and fast! This is now my very favorite place in broward county to eat breakfast. Btw, I am a neurotic about cleanliness and they have a spotless dining room and I peeked into the kitchen are and it was also absolutely spotless… Wow, hats off! I really thought my first two visits were a fluke and they showed me they ARE the best breakfast in Broward!

Great German food! Nice Biergarten as well! They have evening specials and discounts for repeat customers. Michael, one of the proprietors, handles the evening kitchen himself. This place is a real treat. Koestlich!

OBSESSED! Location is perfect. The inside makes you feel like you are legit in someone’s home — very warm and super friendly. Portions are generous. Best homefries EVER. Love the authentic german items. New to the area — been here 2 times in 3 days.

The Cypress Nook makes great homemade food and German specialties. I have only been for breakfast, their food quality is great, they make excellent sausages and kielbasa. They also have an real fresh squeezed Orange and Tangerine juice. The place is very cute, the restaurant is small, the décor is rustic and the dining room has a old rustic kitchen feel. Service is fast and friendly. It is a local favorite, expect a wait on the weekends.

Searched for good breakfast, this place is worth it! Amazing home fries, just like I would make at home! Nice German flavor on food, bacon was very good thin and crispy! Bagels were great, French toast had very good eggy taste. Scrambled eggs were the only thing not so good, must have been egg beaters, but if you order over easy than its fresh egg. Portions were large and satisfying. Creamer tasted so good like whipped cream. Very small space inside so prepare to wait. I would could back again!

Needed a different place for dinner… so went to Unilocal for help. Glad someone posted pictures of the pretzel because that will get me every time! Was a little apprehensive when we walked in. Space is very small, but there is outdoor seating. Wasn’t sure if we seat ourselves or wait. We were just about to seat ourselves when someone greeted us and seated us. We ordered the giant pretzel. They were out, but brought us 2 medium ones. Let me say this… the medium were huge! They were delish and light. Sometimes large pretzels are dense, but these were not. I would have liked a little of a less sweet mustard, but the mustard was good. I had the chicken weinersnitzel jäger style. YUM! The chicken was super tender. I had sauerkraut and a potato pancake. I loved my dinner. Husband has the pork shank. It fell off the bone and he said it was delicious and tender. He ordered green beans and noodles. Both cooked perfect. Why only 4 stars? Soda in a can $ 2.25 per can. Drives me a little nutty. Service was wonderful. Looking forward to going back again. Love mom and pop places.

This place is great. I love the feeling of a good authentic german restaurant. I had the tangerine juice which is seasonal and so yummy! For breakfast I had the brats, eggs and hash browns. All so amazing. The brats were perfect, even the hash brown was simple but delicious. Can’t wait to bring the boyfriend’s family here when they come down.

I have a serious LOVE for German food and the Cypress Nook did not disappoint. My father has been raving about this place for weeks because he goes there on a weekly basis, so we had to check it out. It’s a super quant little place — makes you feel like you are not in Florida but maybe somewhere up in the north. You seat yourself and as soon as you enter the staff was incredibly welcoming. Because it is open until 2, you can get breakfast or lunch. I opted for breakfast and had two eggs scrambled, potatoes, green beans, and a kielbasa, which was super tasty. The other members in my party had liver and onions and French toast — all equally excellent. Oh, and the red cabbage — SO good! Portions were a great size for a good price and the service was relatively fast, considering it was packed with people. It’s a tiny little place, but so welcoming and really does have some awesome food! I would definitely recommend the Cypress Nook!

A very quaint, intimate and friendly place awaits you in this neighborhood of Pompano Beach. Sitting right on East McNab Road, this place as some of the best german food you will every enjoy. The menu is extensive and I’m entirely certain they are experts in every single item on it. They also have a few daily specials to consider. On this visit, we began our meal with a couple of german biers I can’t remember and german pretzel served with a delicious honey mustard. We moved on to our entrees. My husband ordered a daily special that was for all intensive purposes a beef pot roast in au jus so tender it melted in your mouth. As his two sides, he chose mashed potatoes and string beans, the vegetable of the day. I requested the sauerbraten and my two sides were sauerkraut and german potato salad. The sauerbraten was incredible and the sauce served with it wonderful. The sauerkraut was actually creamy and was like no other I’ve every had. The german potato salad was good but could’ve been a bit more tart for my liking. Michael was our server and he can tell you anything you need to know about the menu and all things german. His service was fast and attentive. If you like great german food, you have to go no further than this wonderful place near the beach.
