We had an amazing time here. Food and ambiance was perfect! City view was cool, and Kathy A. was great! Loved the unlimited soup and salad bar! We’re totally coming back! Yum!

Came here for the first time Valentine’s day and it was exceptional! The medium rare steak was cooked to perfection. There was a slight delay on the food but the manager came and let us know about it. We will definitely be coming back!

The start of our event planning was fraught with miscommunication, our event planner was Mayra who verbally answered my questions and indicated she would follow up with confirmation emails, which didn’t happen until I requested them. The facility is nice but the website is misleading in that they advertise floor to ceiling windows but the blinds were pulled down for our event, I asked for them to be raised but our host said he would but he didn’t. The host was also very short tempered with our guests and the distribution of the food. We ordered chicken marsala which was dry and salty. Overall, the experience was not up to the standard of the prices they charged for the event. We were extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend anyone to have a formal event at this facility.

The only reason I gave this a one star was because of the bar, good drinks and great view. Salad bar was good, and so was the soup. Service was awful, our waitress was terrible she was MIA most of our dinner, and she didn’t have a clue of what was on the dinner and or bar menu. She kept looking at her notes for reinforcement, which didn’t offer much help. Food was nothing but basic, the ribs were dry and burnt, the dessert which was described as a banana chocolate crème brûlée tasted like nothing more than chocolate pudding. To make matters worse all we wanted to do was leave this horrible experience, but it took forever to get our check. To say the least, we won’t be visiting this place again!

They were very patient with us, waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. I do wish they would have asked us if we wanted more drinks while we waited. The food was good but all entrees are served a’cart all sides are separate so make sure you study the menu. Also, salad bar was not stocked and waited, by the time I noticed it was full and my food had arrived.

My Husband made us reservations for Valentine’s Day and I have to say they seated us pretty quickly. I thought we would have been waiting for a while but no it was fast. The waitress was nice and friendly was always quick to bring us refills on our drinks and very attentive to us! The food was delicious! I loved the salad/soup bar! Good choices! I got the Spicy fajita soup… So good!!! My husband got the vegetable soup which he said was very good as well! We both order top sirloin cooked well done which came out with no pink, so I was very pleased! I had a baked potato as my side and my husband had the garlic mashed potatoes, both were very good! We enjoyed the Mining Co. And was very satisfied with our Valentine’s dinner! Thank you Mining Co.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews but I am especially disappointed with this place. My husband made reservations here for Valentines a month ago and they lost our reservation. They found a way to seat us in and when we asked to sit near the window the server said no unapologetically even when there were empty tables near the window in clear view. We ordered a bottle of wine and we had to ask twice for the ice bucket. When they finally brought it out we were almost done with it. The food lacked seasoning and the server did not once stop by to ask how the food was. We had to ask another server for ice water since our server was nowhere to be found. Our water was empty with no one to give us refills. The room they sat us in was very awkward. There was no music playing in the background so you had to whisper so others wouldn’t listen to every bit of your conversation. Hmm what else can I rant about? If I haven’t annoyed you yet, the server just came by at the end to give us the check. If it wasn’t Valentines I would have asked to speak to her manager but I bit my tongue for my husband’s sake. I enjoyed my time with him regardless and I’m grateful he took the time to do this so I wasn’t going to ruin our night by complaining to the manager and setting a negative tone to our romantic dinner. I get it it’s Valentine’s Day! They are busy blah blah blah. I was a server years ago and there is no excuse for this level of disregard. I would have been content if she would have stopped by ONCE to ask how we were doing. Maybe the server is not completely at fault because management should have staffed accordingly. This leaves me to believe this place is overall an unorganized disaster. Basically don’t come here for a formal romantic night. This place is good to come with your girlfriends or for a couple of beers with the guys. In the end my husband agreed we are never going back. If you want the great view without the bad service I suggest going next door to the Coco Palms. We went there last Valentines and the service, food and overall atmosphere was great.

We had the chef’s specials. The mussels were the best I have ever had. The Thai — inspired salmon was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. Our friends had a few of the traditional menu items and they also loved it. Having a new culinary flair paired with tradition is a winning combination. What a treat to find this amazing chef and great restaurant a little off the beaten path. We will be back!

Been coming here for quite some time, tonight is was just bad. Prime rib cold and salty, ribs tough cold no flavor, salad dressing salty Horrible servers, fake personality. Not one refill of my drink. I normally leave a tip but not tonight. Nothing was worth spending additional money

4.5 –5 Stars We really enjoyed our dining experience at the Pomona Valley Mining Company! Granted, that night we were forced to valet which was less than stellar for $ 6.00 plus tip(they pointed to our car and did not open the passenger-side door) and there was a loud drunken party exiting the bar(early evening) which gave the wrong impression to me initially, the rest of the evening went wonderfully. For the following reasons, I really curve this up to a 4.5−5 stars: The view: We were fortunate to make a reservation at dusk, so we could see the transition from day to night. It was humbling as we sat and watched the expanse create a luminous glow outside. The service: Kathy(with a «K»): She was just great! She’s personable and thoughtful which made for a smoother evening. You know, she made you feel welcome and added the right amount of pleasantries without being overbearing. The food: Our party of four experienced the fresh salad and soup bar which was refreshing. Unlike other establishments that leave the lettuce out to get wilted and oxidized, everything was fresh. Three different types of soups provide enough variety for each of us and along with the decadent cheese bread(which Kathy made), it was really a meal in itself! However, the flavor of main course was outstanding. One of our friends had the ribs, which although they did not fall off the bone to the point of using a fork and knife, he professed that he enjoyed them and that the were not charred as if burnt. My boyfriend had the salmon which he enjoyed with the rice pilaf. But since I’m writing this, I will address the prime rib. Our other friend and I ordered the smaller cut which is NOT small! We both ordered vegetables as the side and I can tell you, we did not make a mistake. Now, homemade prime rib roast stands out by itself, but this seriously gave that a run for the money! The FLAVOR was INCREDIBLE! No sooner had I taken my first bite did I find myself eyeing the juice on the plate. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned which made the meal just much more enjoyable. Needless to say, the portions are huge. We each had some to take home. The best part about that: Kathy gave us some tips on serving the leftovers and she was spot on! Our friend made the omelette she recommended with all the left over veggies, and it provided him two full servings. His quote, «Yum, yum in the tum tum!» We are looking forward to our next trip to try the lamb if it’s available or maybe the Sunday Brunch! Enjoy!

I’ve been coming here for group gatherings for the last 4 years. The location is pretty neat since you’re on top of the hill overlooking Pomona and the 10 freeway. The service has been okay, but just okay. One of the first times here, there was mold on my cheesecake… I looked the other way, but that’s never a good sign. The last time here was pretty bad. They served a fried chicken-like substance with mashed potatoes and a few vegetables. The«chicken» was so hard and tasteless I was surprised they tried to have us eat it. Everyone at my table had the same opinion and when I spoke to others later, they felt as I did too. Here is the kicker, I realize it’s a holiday party, but charging about $ 45.00/plate for this garbage that my dog wouldn’t be able to eat is scandalous. If you’re going to offer catering for large groups, then do it right or don’t do it at all. Okay, so this is what $ 45.00 gets you here. Maybe that’s $ 40.00 worth of parsley:

I’ve had some pretty nice Sunday brunch experiences here, but this time for my holiday staff dinner, it was terrible!!! I know it can be busy and chaotic during the holidays but still… We had a party of almost 20 and our service was just ok. Some people complained about the mashed potatoes being too salty. One of my co worker’s filet mignon was so tiny that she had to give it back and get a new one. We were looking forward to going dancing at the bar area where they had a DJ but apparently when I called earlier, they had taken it out. The valet was $ 5.00 and the wait was about an hour!!! People were really mad and I saw some of them getting their own keys from the valet box and they went to find their cars. It was freezing cold that night too! How could they make us wait that long!!! Ridiculous!!! I have to say the view was beautiful, regardless… I’m never recommending this place to anyone nor am I ever gonna dine here.

Came in on a rare rainy Southern California night. Roaring fireplace, from where we were seated it appeared that every seat had a view overlooking the city and freeway lights, which is gorgeous. Parking is free and there appears to be only one obvious entrance. The menu is short but sweet. I ordered a mojito and saw calamari«steak» as an appetizer. I had calamari before but never the steak. Great decision, it’s delicious, larger portions of calamari served with cocktail and tartar sauce. Yum! My husband ordered a medium rare steak and loaded potatoes and I ordered the baby back ribs. The entrée comes with an all you-can-eat salad AND soup bar. The chili soup has GIANT chunks of tender beef, I gobbled it down with the perfectly toasted on one side cheesy bread and cool crispy salad of my choosing. The mojito was perfect, sweet and sour, not too acidic. I was stuffed… then my food came. A giant slab of ribs too large for the plate, Fred Flintstone style. Smoky, sweet. The entire slab had to be packed up along with the loaded potatoes oozing with butter, bacon and cheese. My husbands steak was just right, but 75% of it was packed up for home too. Room for dessert? Not this time but we will definitely be back. Our waitress Brandi was friendly and attentive our visit was 5 star, we’ll priced, no complaints. Great place for a date.

Great food, great service! My fiancé and I came here for Sunday mimosa buffet brunch. Our server was Kathy(with a K) lol she was fun, energetic, funny and sweet. Everyone we encountered had a good attitude. All the food sections were clean and organized, and the food was all delicious. Our glasses were never empty, since Kathy and our other male server made sure we had champagne at all times. Definitely worth it. We will be returning.

What I love about the Pomona Valley Mining Company is the beautiful view of Pomona while eating at a Western themed place. I love it most during the dinner time when you get to see the spectacular view at night when all of the lights are glittering. What I don’t like about this place, however, is the brunch food in buffet style. We had 36 guests for my boyfriend’s grandmother’s 85th birthday celebration to bond and catch up while enjoying the brunch. However, the food was subpar at best. I enjoyed the roast beef and the scrambled eggs that were mixed with cheese, but that’s about it. If you expect this to be a seafood buffet, you are sadly mistaken. There was a limited amount of seafood and they weren’t even good to begin with. The shrimps that were easy to peel looked terribe and weren’t that fresh, the mussels tasted rubbery, and the crab legs looked okay. Despite of the food, the servers were pretty attentive to the bottomless champagne most of the time. There were a couple of times when we would ask for the champagne and they wouldn’t come back until 10 minutes later, but that’s expected when it gets busy during brunch hours. Overall, the Pomona Valley Mining Company is good for dinner, but not for brunch.

My husband and I celebrated a birthday here at Pomona Mining Co. and had a wonderful time. Kathy was our server and she is absolutely amazing. She recommended the Miner’s Philly topped with sautéed mushrooms and Bleu cheese crumbles. It melted in my mouth, so tender and it was a perfect medium rare. She also recommended the Shrimp and Scallops, it was delicious. The mix berry Crème Brule was the perfect end to a wonderful dinner. So good! Compliments to the chef. Kathy was so wonderful, pleasant and accommodating. We will always ask for her every time we come in. Thank you so much Kathy! You are awesome!
