Worst BBQ brisket ever Walk in around 12 noon Order 1 pound of brisket to go, waited 15 minutes. Got back to the office open the box, Thinly sliced brisket in watery BBQ sauce. Tasted like commercialized brisket heated in microwave and pour some nasty sauce over.

The restaurant is quaint, friendly & neighborly. We ordered the Three Meat dinner it was delicious. If you are craving Ribs, trip Tip or just feeling carnivorous this is the place! Although they have a full menu.

The person who owns this place must be well connected and have a great personality because the food is horrible but they have all these 5 star ratings. The chicken wings were undercooked, probably frozen and freezer burned when they were cooked. The rib tips had a rubber texture to them and the sauce tasted like it was store brought. We tried the fried fish as well and it was ok but my friend said she was starving and didn’t care what it tasted like as long as it was cooked: o(The ribs tasted boiled and it was like they mixed old and new meat together. I don’t know how they’ve stayed open as long as they have unless the owner is well connected or people are just greedy…

Awesome. I have been meaning to stop for ages, but today the craving for ribs was great. I am glad we went. We needed to get dinners to go, so we waited as JN himself prepared our meals. The interior was clean, well kept and cozy, and when JN tuned in the big TV so we could see the news as we waited, we got the BBC instead of Faux. Extra points! JN prepared our food on camera — we could watch from the dining room. But the real treat happened when we got the food home. The pork ribs were big, meaty, delicious and tender. The sauce was thin, like a BBQ au jus, but not even needed, as these were the real thing, smoked to perfection. We shared one meal, and then a couple hours later, shared the other one. The beans were delightful, smoked with pineapple, with a tangy sweetness, perfect on the Texas toast slabs. The potato salad was a bit too mustardy for my taste, but very distinctive and fresh tasting. The dinner side portions are very tiny — next time I will order a quart of those beans! In fact, I can’t wait to go back to eat there. But instead of the dinners, I would order ala carte to get my fill of the stuff I really like. I love the tiny dinner size sides for trying out the side dishes, though. I’d like to try the greens before ordering a mess of them. Can’t wait to try the sweet potato pie, too. And JN was the nicest person. What a great place.

Ribs had more fat than meat; toast was too burnt to be edible. Only 2 – 3 scoops worth of the«sides»(Mac & cheese and greens). Pecan pie was frozen. I do not recommend.

This place was such a disappointment. First the good: the actual dining room is very well kept and clean and nicely decorated. The fried catfish was fantastic. Everything else was mediocre, at best. The bbq sauce they put on everything is watery and flavorless, the sides you get with the dinner are tiny, the bbq chicken was dry and chewy. I’ve never had a chicken leg that was dried out while sitting in the wateriest sauce I’ve ever seen. We later realized that likely comes from being reheated poorly in a microwave. The cornbread was clearly old and reheated in a microwave, the brisket lacked flavor because of the sauce chosen, and on top of all of that they forgot to include the hushpuppies I paid for, though based on the restaurant’s philosophy of reheating most of our meal I doubt I would have been impressed. We will not be going back or recommending it to anyone.

For me this place is really good it has that real BBQ shack look instead of that franchise feel. The food is good there’s only the owner here when I come so yes there’s not a lot of help but the food makes it up cause that’s why I’m here to eat.

I am amazed that this place has so many bad reviews , The guy who helped us was extremely nice, so nice that he took our order after close time hours . Also prices are fair and food was yummy. People give bad review about the lamest things . Overall our experience was awesome.

This place was good. For the price, its amazing. The sizes are great, and everything was delicious. The Mac n cheese was delicious, and exactly what I expected it’d taste like(not a Kraft Mac n cheese but restaurant kids meal Mac n cheese) it’s more takeout-y than sit down. Its actually self service, but really cool inside. First thing I noticed was the different types of wood outside. Everything is smoked to well done. Which is great for the ribs, although the trip and brisket, although delicious!, was not the rare I usually go for. I was originally apprehensive at first, due to a couple reviews, but I worked in restaurants and some people are whiny. 10⁄10 would recommend.

Ok i a here trying to try this food and the hours are from 11 am yet i go to the front door it is locked. So i called the number on the door and a man answered at 11:45 and i asked him are they open because the sign stated they were but the front door was locked. The man asked me to give him 20 minutes, he’s doing something. All Righty then. That may be why the parking lot is empty. Hmmmm.
