First off I loves me some golden ox… But today I ordered some taquitos and omg they were beyond gross! And that fake ass guacamole just made them taste even worse! Definitely never ordering those again!

Finally I’m in Ptown again, And I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve been coming to Golden Ox since I was a child. And I gotta say there is no place like this in San Diego. Why? Because no one serves chili cheese fries like they do. Being a fan of chili cheese fries, this place have one that stands out on their own. Some say it might be a little too greasy but hey, they’re chili cheese fries! They’re not supposed to be healthy!
Anyways, before heading back to San Diego, I called in the order and my fiancé picked it up. Knowing about some of the bad customer service reviews, the service wasn’t so bad. In fact, a nice lady in the front counter was really nice. When I got the food, I immediately took the food out the bag and opened the box. I just took a bite of nostalgia. Nothing changed. It was the same goodness I’ve had since I was a kid walking to this place. I knew I couldn’t leave with out getting one this time and I’m glad that I did.
After i finished the food, I felt completed again. That one bite took me back to great childhood memories. Thanks for not changing your recipe Golden Ox, you made my day again. Maybe open one in San Diego one day lol.

Just left from picking up our food. You reslly should call in your order, but being our 1^st time, we didn’t. Waited at least 10 minutes to put our order in. After 20 minutes, got our order. Had the nerve to ask for catsup, she straight threw it in our bag. Attitude & all. I will let you know how the food is later.

I have to admit the food here never fails to disappoint. My only complaints are the horrible customer service and dirty dining areas! Every time my boyfriend and I come here the employees seem to have attitudes. It’s always the women that work at the counter. We get to the counter to order and the womam said «HI» very rudely. Then we asked her if she can put some extra napkins in and she goes «WHAT?!» Then asks us «WHAT DO YOU 2 WANT TO DRINK?» They give dirty looks and just don’t seem happy to be there.
This place is also very dirty and disgusting inside which is why we take it to go.

The cooks move like they hate cooking and don’t want to be there. The staff is only friendly if you speak Spanish. They will serve customers in whatever order they feel and when asked why other people are being served they realize they forgot about the order and start cooking it. Then they lie about it. The food here is only average and for the area below average. I recommend skipping this location for lunch.

The food is good and so many varieties of food. They are busy everytime I go so I have to make a phone order before.

I had the Steak Sandwich today and it was really good. I couldn’t eat the whole thing but I wish I could have because it was that tasty. As far as the cleanliness of the place, it’s about average for this kind of hamburger joint. I’m sure it’s really difficult to keep a place clean with all the rif-​raf hanging around outside — but that’s what you get in this part of Pomona. I don’t hold what happens past their doors against the business owner.

Been a loyal customer for 13 yrs but started to notice a decline in the quality of food the last year. They have always been generous with there portions and food used to be cooked to perfection. Not anymore! Raw onion rings… burnt chicken, pastrami burger w/​2 pieces of pastrami. We won’t be returning. So sad.

Came here many times, when I was younger this place is alright. Just get Burger and Fries you really can not go wrong, but their restrooms are really dirty trust me do use their restrooms! For the most part, they just need to clean up the place then it would be a four star place at best, that’s why they get a three star A-​Okay … Meh

The Ox is consistently good. Great pastrami, awesome burgers, good breakfast and great prices. Not a fan of being charged for a refill though. It’s close to my house as well.

Love this place, their burgers are ¼ pounders every time. The food here is just so much more delicious than BK or McD’s. Got some bomb Onion Rings too. One of the best burger restaurants in Pomona.

I’ve been coming here since I was 5. I moved to Vegas but I always come back here so I can get a burger with their signature spicy red sauce. Bomb!

This place is alright, the fries are delicious and their homemade spread is too. I mainly just go for that and a cheeseburger. The inside is really filthy looking and everything else seems pretty disgusting to order. The ladies taking your orders are ALWAYS rude, they forget to greet people and use their manners. The cook is an overweight man who looks really dirty and sketchy. I think the main problem is that it just looks like a really unsanitary place to get your food from… Maybe if they cleaned it up a bit idk remodeled the inside maybe? After this review I may not be going back there ;o

The Golden Ox. This place gets packed fast around the rush hours. I would advise you to phone in your order a head of time to minimize your waiting time especially if your on your lunch break. Also try the Chilli cheese fries

I’ve been eating here for as long as I can remember. My Grandfather used to work at K & K Lumber across the street and we’d walk down to get lunch sometimes. :) Now a days I usually take the food home since I’m alone when I go there and that’s the safest thing to do… however, everything I’ve ever eaten from here has been good or even better. Their pastrami is always a favorite, and the cheeseburgers a close 2^nd, but right now I’m on a taco phase! For $ 1.35 you can’t beat their ground beef tacos! And their breakfast burritos have always been yummy and definite crowd pleasers for last minute breakfast solutions.

My wife tells me this is nostalgia from growing up near a Golden Ox. I say nay… I’ve been to plenty of Mom and Pop Burger joints and this place not only brings me back, it stands far apart from those other places.
The burger should be eaten there (despite the atmosphere — hey it is Pomona; Buyer beware) and only taken to go if you live 5 minutes away. The burger changes and should be eaten fresh. Ask for extra crispy fries and a side of dressing for dip/​burger gorging. Don’t forget the yellow peppers for a good kick to the burger!
Order yourself a combo and you will not be disappointed. Burgers come with pickles by default! They also take CC (Visa/​Mastercard) for an under a dollar fee.

I really like this place. The burgers are decent. I got the bacon cheeseburger. I also tried the pastrami, which was pretty good too.
If you order the fries, they give you enough fries for 2 people. Solid burger, solid fries, great soda.

This is my go to place for chili cheese fries in the area. I usually get it with tomatoes and onions on top since it makes it that much more awesome. It also makes me feel a teeny tiny bit better about eating extra crispy fries at night. There’s something about orange bang and chili cheese fries from Golden Ox that really hits the spot.
