My boyfriend and I came here for a nice night out but ended up leaving hungry and dissatisfied. The service is what really made the experience so poor overall. The server took our appetizer order which ended up taking 45 minutes Before it came out for 12 little neck steamers. We didn’t get bread until after we ate our appetizer, which by the way was nothing special. Our waters were empty the entire time and only got refilled when we flagged the server down to ask for more(I didn’t bother getting another cocktail for fear of how long that would be). The server didn’t stop by after taking our appetizer order to get our meal so we sat there for a good 30 minutes just waiting. My boyfriend’s meal was less than satisfying as the Lobster was dry in parts and the clams still sandy. The only reason I give them one star is I was pleased with the salmon shrimp salad that I ordered.

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years, but had not been there for awhile. Went with my husband and friends. I ordered the shrimp parm what a big mistake. Sauce was burnt and shrimp hard as rocks. Tasted awful. In fact my husband who Never complains told me to send it back which I did. Did not order anything else as everyone else was eating. My girlfriends spinach with garlic had no taste. Wedge salad a hunk of lettuce with a few strips of bacon thrown on top with hardly any dressing on. They did not take my meal off the bill. We will not be back.

Normally we love this place for quiet drinks. The apps are great. Bartenders are nice. It’s an older crowd. A place I really enjoy from time to time. But if you go with kids, you will be sat in the kids room with crying babies and will be told the other tables are reserved. Which is a joke if you have an older child who can contain themselves. Plus, in order to get a waitress to notice you, you’ll need a big neon sign. Other than that, enjoy your martini and bar pie at the bar sans kids.

Went with family for a Sunday dinner. Place was mostly empty during the tourist season. New waitress who needed training as she forgot apps and messed up orders. Went with a cheeseburger as you really have to try to mess that up and they did. The bun was sold old they over toasted it to the point I couldn’t even bite into it. Messed up the kids ravioli and had to send it back. Too bad as the potential for a nice family pub is there but we won’t be going back.

Unfortunately this place goes downhill a little more each time I visit. The servers are great but the food is falling off a cliff. Ordered the ahi tuna and it was plated carelessly and poorly prepared. Crab appetizers had wilted greens drooping over the side of the dish but otherwise tasty.

If I could give this place negative 10 stars I would; one star is too much credit. This establishment was filthy and the food was repulsive. I got violently ill from the food. I took left overs home to my dog who even refused to be subjected to such garbage. I personally don’t know how anyone could ever find this place appealing. I feel like all the good rantings and reviews for this place were posted by people who are affiliated with the owner and/or were very drunk by the time they got their food. The service was stupid slow and we were the only table in the place. We Asked for water and never got it. I’ve never had food that was that expansive yet so old and gross. We spent over $ 100 yet, I’ve had better meals from a gas station. Even the croutons on the salad were stale. The chicken quesadilla was $ 10 and was not only burnt but, had no chicken. I’ve gone to this«restaurant» a few times and every time it gets that much worse. I will never give it another chance after this last visit. I now completely understand why we were the only table in there when every single restaurant(including the OB diner) was packed. This owner needs to get his priorities straight. He should call Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares because they need some serious HELP!!! It was the BIGGESTWASTEOFMONEY.

Ordered chicken parm with ziti and the ziti came separate in a bowl and I burned my hand trying to get it on my plate. Chicken was made the night before and obviously microwaved. Tasted awful. My girlfriend ordered prime rib and it was literally cold. The mashed potatoes were cold as well. We politely asked to have it heated up and all it needed was about twenty seconds and they left it in for about two minutes. Came out even worse. The vegetables were ruined. Service was good because they weren’t busy but it still took 20 minutes for drinks. To top it all off we paid almost $ 90. Food is incredibly overpriced for what we got. The restaurant was dirty too. Never going here again. Feeding left overs to my dog.

Not sure why all the negative reviews. I have been coming here for years and I have never been disappointed. I recently dined here again on Friday and was very pleased with the service and food. My bf had the filet topped with peppers and onions. I had the NY Strip. They were both cooked perfectly. In addition, We also had the special Fig appetizer, which was very good. My only downside to the place is, that they are a little pricier than the others in the area, but location is everything. They are located on Ocean Ave across from the Boardwalk, where all the action is. Short walk if your staying nearby. I guess you have to pay for convenience.

It has been a several years since my last visit and review of this place and unfortunately it is still diverging negatively. Although still a very nice ambiance the food and service leave a lot to be desired. Initially greeted by a snarly woman barkeep last night that reminded me of the wicked witch of the west, fortunately a pleasant enough young man took our wine and food order. As far as the food: skimpy portions, way over priced for what they deliver and lackluster in taste. Bottom line — go here for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere but avoid the food and the curmudgeon behind the bar if you can.

We returned here again on a frigidly cold Saturday night. Once again we had a delicious and well presented dinner. I ordered the Mahi Mahi which was served with an aioli, roasted potatoes and haricot verts. My wife enjoyed her chicken Oscar which was prepared perfectly in the classic veal tradition with crab meat, asparagus and hollandaise. We were seated at a cozy table by the fireplace which was the perfect spot for a winter night where the temps were in the low 20s. I could not help notice the limited edition(55⁄275) print signed by Carrol N. Jones III called Waiting for Grandfather on the wall next to me. This completely dispels the idea posted by Natasha of the«doctors office painting prints». Reviewers should not comment on topics they know nothing about. The décor in this place was done by a professional and it shows, I visit here often and have never been disappointed. Please check my credibility at my blog.

If I was to say the service was horrible, that would be a compliment. Although the waitress was very pleasant, the efficiency to get our drinks and food to the table at a respectable time appears to be too much to ask for! Not to mention the fact that this place is darker than a mine shaft. Not only would I never visit this establishment, but I will ensure that Twitter, Facebook and any social media I can find will be very aware of my horrible experience here.

If I could select zero stars or even negative stars I would do so with pleasure. First of all, dining room décor, ridiculous. Doctors office painting prints and god awful lumberjack plaid carpet, please… Food was bland and low in quality. Soup was from a can and veggies were added. Lima beans in a Manhattan Clan Chowder?! That’s more like Kentucky Clam Chowder or something. Crab meat in the crab cake is also canned and not fresh and it’s encased in a gross fried layer of undesirable batter of some kind… Waiting on our entrees now… I got the surf and turf, the lady got the pork chop blackened… We’ll see how this goes, but my optimism is really not with me at the moment… And there were 3 flys flying around us the whole time. You know what that means… Flys in the dining room mean the kitchen has to be fucked…

We went here for a family dinner this passed Sat. Our waitress was Kristy, a woman who should not be serving people since she can’t even muster a smile. The food was average but the service was so poor and nonexistent that it ruined our dinner. I would suggest going anywhere else for dinner. Our salads came AFTER the entrees(yes, I’m serious) and only cause someone at our table said«don’t we get salad?» Our waitress said, «oh, you still want them?» Uhhh, yes??! Weird. Everytime she walked up to us, we were waiting for such a loooong time, she would say«sorry, guys.» So she was aware of the poor service. A smile or explanation would have sufficed but we received neither. It was a bad experience, too bad cause the location is great. That’s why I gave it one star. Oh we should have known something was up when we easily got a table for 8 on a Saturday in August. Save your time and dining experience for a place that doesn’t take you for granted.

Stumbled upon this place this past weekend with our family. Our 11 month old daughter had fallen asleep in her stroller so my mom inquired if it would be possible if we could bring her stroller in. The hostess explained that strollers had to be left outside. My mom came back outside and said we were going to go elsewhere else, as to not wake her up. Two men standing outside overheard our conversation and one went inside. The other man informed us that that was the owner. He was able to secure us a table with room for our stroller. Great customer service! As far as the food, it was great! Our table tried the clams on the half shell, prosciutto wrapped figs, and fresh mozzarella with tomato. For our main courses, we had salmon, off shore scallops, chicken francaise, and the chicken and sausage dish. We all cleared our plates. The only negative aspect of our meal was the service. It seemed like they were short staffed, perhaps someone called out. However, it didn’t ruin our experience. We will definitely be returning.

Happy hour’s hopping here! My experience was at the bar only, so I can’t speak to the service other than the bartenders. They did seem to tend to their regulars before us, which I can totally understand since I’m a regular elsewhere, but they were friendly nonetheless, and managed to keep up with our refills. Considering all the other places that serve alcohol in this area, if you want a welcoming, relaxed, NON-singles atmosphere, this would be the place. The food’s standard, everything from pasta to seafood, steak or salad, and there are enough choices. I enjoyed my crab cake sandwich, which was timely brought after our appetizers. I saw someone try the pizza next to us and kind of wished I had gone for it, looked & smelled pretty good. If you’re a non local, this is a safe bet when you’re hungry and want to get away from the crazy boardwalk crowd.

3.5 Stars. After spending the afternoon hanging out at Point Pleasant beach, we needed an early dinner. The Offshore Restaurant looked inviting so we decided to check it out. It’s a sizable, nice looking restaurant with a large bar and an additional dining room with a fireplace. Since we arrived early, we had no trouble snagging a table. The menu consisted of the typical salads, sandwiches, pasta, steak and seafood. However, one of the pleasant surprises was the option of either ordering full portions or half portions for a majority of the main dishes. Beer selection was less than stellar, which wasn’t a big deal after just coming from the tiki bar. I’ve been eating entirely too much red meat lately, so I decided on the 8 oz. rib eye steak with a side of pasta. Couldn’t help it. The steak was prepared medium, just like I ordered, and very tender. The pasta was also good, but the marinara sauce was slightly bland. Overall, it was a good meal and we were very content with the half portions… and the half prices.
