My family and I had the pleasure of taking a series of private lessons with Captain Jim Meade this August. My son, who is 13 nor I had ever really sailed. I had been out a few times as crew but not with any responsibility other than to stay on the boat. We learned a ton! We are competent crew now and with a little more practice will be ready to sail on our own. And Jim’s patience, great explanations and calm demeanor made it a great experience. The location in Catumet harbor offers a great place for beginners with more challenging sailing available just on the other side of Bassets Island in Buzzards Bay, so that was a great choice too.
