Kingman is our home port in Buzzard’s Bay because of it’s many moorings, super protected area and easy accessibility to the islands and cape cod canal. As a full service boat yard, it’s great, but a little pricey. We have yet to resolve a patch job done on the deck’s gel coat which opened up 2 more times.

Good: Warm water, showers, convenient stop over, sunset Bad: Slips were still occupied when we arrived after promised time, We left for the beach and upon return they had given our slip away along With OUR shore power, had to be reassigned. No cooking, leaving here with a cooler of steak and lobster. Forced to eat at chart house with its loooong wait times. Ugly: while walking my 18 pound dog down the dock two unleashed uncontrolled huge dogs jumped off their boat attacked my dog bit him lunged at me. No response from kingman about their actions to this scary event . These same dogs were roaming the dock the evening before jumping on boats and helms of our boats knocking over a 10 year old girl who was in their way.

I am a Falmouth Harbor girl at heart so gassing up at this marina was new to me! The staff was very friendly and attentive. It’s a great atmosphere and the Chart Room being so close for is a big plus for a quick lunch and mudslides! Would highly recommend.

Not happy at all about our experience here. Next time we will stay at Parker’s yacht club.

Nice power(50 amp) in a not so nice setting. You need to track back through several tortuous miles of shallow water. Slip not long enough for boat so no way to get dinghy off. WiFi a real joke. Great signal that gives intermittent dial up speeds. Phenomenally expensive! Most we have paid in 3,000 miles of cruising!

Nice place located near Red Brook and the entrance to the canal. The Chart Room is part of the complex. It’s a cape cod marina which means you’ll pay more and probably wait longer but they have a solid selection of boats and dockage. I’ve dealt with them on transient slips and they were fine. They also now sell Yellowfin boats which is a bonus.

I love stopping at Kingman’s! The moorings area is well protecting, the marina is well run and has good services, and the launch is great. We have used the south channel for years with a 6’3″ draft and never had trouble in the channel, just don’t go out of it(and dont miss the hook at the end by bearing too soon to starboard to enter the mooring field…).

The good: the showers are awesome. You basically get a private bathroom to yourself, it’s free, there’s a little chair inside, and you’ve got a lot of room to move around, get changed, etc. The island that blocks off the bay is a great place to dinghy out to, and the water was warm enough to swim! Bonus! The bad: The wireless internet was down the night we were there. Big bummer, because there’s also not a lot to do within walking distance of the marina, except eat at the rapacious restaurant. Overall, this was a pleasant experience, though, especially because the next destination was Provincetown(see: my review of their marina.) Advice: If you’re drafting six feet or less(we were drafting six… I can’t speak for how much you actually CAN draft there,) take the south channel in. The north channel has lots of twists and turns, and it was sort of a harrowing experience, but the south channel is easy.
