I didn’t get to TranquiliTea until 7 minutes after it was supposed to close, and was delighted to see the«Open» sign still brightly lit. I quickly parked my car and walked to the door to find the sign was turned off, and the door locked. But, lo and behold, the woman behind the counter was an angel. She gave me the finger – the one that means, «Just a minute,» and came to the front and unlocked the door for me. Now THAT is customer service! Not only did she fill two tea orders and a tea bag order for me, she let me run back to my car to grab my reward certificate. After hours! I love everything about this place, from the exceptional customer service, to the impressive collection of loose teas at a fair price, to a wonderful assortment of teapots, mugs, and saucers that range from whimsical to utilitarian, elegant, and everything in between. This store is a treasure for all tea drinkers.

Fantastic selection of high quality teas; delightful, friendly and helpful staff; convenient location; and reasonable prices(loose teas are sold per ounce). I appreciated the«testers» on the wall opposite the retail counter as it allowed for easy browsing of the tea selection. The testers are organized logically, which helped me to quickly zero in on the kinds of tea that most interested me. This will be my new go-to for all kinds of tea. I really like the teas at Sweetwaters Café in Ann Arbor, but I’m not going to venture out there just for tea. Teavana can’t hold a candle to either; skip it. One thing that might be nice is for TranquiliTea to offer samples of tea while browsing. That’s the one good thing done by Teavana and it probably drives sales. At about $ 4 per ounce and up for most teas, a pot of the«Tea of the Day» wouldn’t cost the owners a lot of money and encourage patronage.

A delightful shop on Ann Arbor Trail in downtown Plymouth. Friendly helpful staff. Amazing inventory of cups, mugs, teapots, accessories, tea cozies, etc. You name it. If it has to do with tea, they have it or they can get it. If you are a T lover, whether you drink looseleaf or teabags, the shop is worth checking out.

This unique place offers loose tea in all varieties including herbal. I’ve tried Grandma’s Garden Fruit Tea(Herbal), Tropical Twister(Black), Pear Passion White & Green(White & Green) for iced teas & they are all tasty. They have tea pots, cups & saucers, strainers, honey, rock candy, & other accessories. Yes, you can buy these online. I find it nice to look at things prior to purchase. They have an ever changing line up of products to peruse. Staff is friendly & helpful.

First impressions first — walking into TranquiliTea the smell is AMAZING. I visited for the first time recently, and was really quite pleased with the setup that they have. As a new and blossoming tea fanatic, not having to find fine looseleaf teas only on the internet anymore is a nice treat. With every tea they sell they have displayed along with it a jar with the tea inside so you can open it up and smell, which is very useful in finding a good tea. I was also pleased that unlike the most common tea store around… Not saying any names… but they do not pressure sales, or require the purchase of a tea tin in order to leave with their teas. Honestly, if you’re out shopping and wander into a tea shop, what are the chances that you just so happened to bring you tin with you? They also have the most beautiful assortment of teapots and mugs, both modern and vintage. I drove quite a ways to visit TranquiliTea, but I was very pleased with the results! I will definitely be returning again.

mmmmmmmm Tea… Maybe my second favorite shop in Plymouth I love stopping in and stocking up on some of my favorite teas. I do believe I talked with the owner of the shop and she is very friendly and helpful. A true gem of a store with their wide verity of different teas and some seasonal teas they have in stock. They also have any thing you could ever want and or need as far as supplies goes. any one who visits beautiful downtown Plymouth you need to at least stop in and check it out I love it!

I have been into tea for a long time, though for years it was mainly Bigelow’s/Liptons(When I was growing up.) Then I discovered Republic of Tea thru Borders Bookstores…(Still miss them!) But then last year I discovered loose leaf tea. Yeah I knew it existed before that, I just didn’t know that it was available here in Michigan. Let alone trying to find tea strainers. Though I have a few places nearby that I go to more frequently, like a Teavana’s mostly because they are closer. In many ways I prefer Tranquilitea because of the many things that others have mentioned: Reasonable prices, no upselling, None of the sort of steering towards certain products. And plus… bonus for me… I love wandering around DT Plymouth! Current favorites: Victorian Earl Grey/Earl Grey Crème de la Crème Peachy Keen White Blue Moon White Orange Creamsicle Rooibos I’ve also gotten the majority of my steeper cups and other teaware from Tranquilitea, the teaware is alittle bit pricey, but not outrageously so. To the reviewer who mentioned they stopped going because of the change in the types of teas offered: Yeah it sucks when that happens, but when looking at it from a business sense, you’ve got to go with what sells. You don’t…then your business will likely sink.

I was a big fan for a while, but lost interest. It appears this place is getting away from the teas with good medicinal properties and going for more of the designer type blends. The owner has said«if it don’t sell, we have to get rid of it». OK. … that’s a sell-out attitude that I’m not interested in supporting. And if you look around, there is a lot of useless retail for sale. I do not feel this place is true to their«art». Prices are high as well.

Lovely alternative to the overpriced, obnoxious, corporate Teavana. Wonderful selection of any kind of tea your heart might desire – green, black, decalf, oolong, anything. Also better bagged teas(Harney’s!) and a great selection of cute strainers, cups, pots, etcetera. Pleasant and knowledgable staff who does not push tins on you like they do at that certain other store at the mall. And the prices are quite a bit better, too. All-around wonderful shop!

Beautiful, well-curated store devoted to tea and tended by people who care. Cute cups(I’m going back for the Nerd Hello Kitty one), tea cozies, strainers, etc., everything you need to brew a proper cuppa!

The tea selection is extensive and Vicky knows her tea! Picked up a couple of greens and got great ideas on brewing hot and cold teas at home and the office. Has become a must-stop-by place for me when in Plymouth.

If you don’t know how amazing loose tea is, then you should definitely check out TranquiliTea. The owner is very helpful, and most of the teas are out for you to smell, and if you like certain things like peppermint, the owner will steer you towards different teas you may enjoy. I love the«birthday partea» & the«peppermint stick». The prices are a little less than Teavanna, and the sales people aren’t as pushy. I always get the sense that the owner wants me to have a good tea experience as opposed to up selling me. I wish there were more independent stores like this.

My mom received some tea from this store for her birthday last year, I have since annexed said tea and now I have discovered the store it came from! I love giving my friends the gift of tea and this place certainly has a nice selection to choose from! They also have all the accessories and they are very knowledgeable.

My regular supplier, I need my tea fix people. Lovely store, nice tea accessories and a friendly, knowledgable owner. She has great advice, recommendations and really loves her tea. She also has supplied me with some of the best teas I have ever drank. I usually buy her out of her Cinnamon Orange Spice black tea. Simply the freshest and best place to get some. I dig oolong a lot and she has good variety to choose from. Those are my standard purchases. I have sampled plenty of the other stock and generally buy other teas on a whim. I have not been disappointed in anything. They sell by weight in small pouches so you can get small samples of a lot and decide what you like best. Hot or iced, you will notice the difference between the quality of these teas and the stale stuff found at non specialty stores. You will not be able to go back to that stuff. I love it here :).

This is a small shop in Plymouth’s downtown, surrounded by other small independent retailers, like the Waffle and Omelette Shoppe, a glass arts shop, and a bunch of other gift and specialty foods shops. The first thing you’ll notice about TranquiliTea(beyond the terribly punny name) is that it smells wonderful in there. It’s small, but they pack a really wide variety of loose leaf tea, sold by weight, in a small space, including a variety of flavored black teas and herbal teas. They also sell tea accessories, like tea pots and cups and strainers. Prices are higher than, say, just picking up some Tazo from the supermarket, but the variety and quality is worth it.
