All in all the blue-eyed crab was not all that it was cracked up to be. We ordered four different items from the small plate menu two of the dishes were good and two of them were not good at all. We had high expectations for the place and were a bit disappointed. I can’t see myself going back.

Im from California and came to vist my sister for her graduation. I was extremely impressed with the food at the crab and the staff there was amazing as well. I even had an offer from the staff to drive me to the airport because my sister has tonsilitis. No frickin joke. Cheers blue eyed crab!

I don’t eat seafood(so why am I eating here right?) but my husband does! The appetizer of the jerk chicken buns are delicious! I wish you would get more than two because I could eat them all day. My husband has had the fish tacos a few times and says they are good, but he has had better. I also loveeeeee the grilled chicken sandwich with the mango honey mustard and bacon jam, yummy! Sounds strange for a seafood place but their chicken is amazing. My husband also really likes their steak tips(comes with grilled avocado but he’s not a fan of cooked avocado) I love the view outside also. All and all its a very good restaurant with minimal complaints from us. We will keep going back!

Horrible restaurant! We waited an hour for a raw burger, old reheated Cuban sandwich and soggy calamari. The waitress was completely rude about it and the manager proceeded to tell me I was wrong about the food! Would not recommend this place at all!

Delicious food– seafood, bread, desert, starter everything are great. After eating there can’t wait to back again. The wait is a little long but so worth it.

The food is great and the service is even better! Tyler was so kind to let us taste the Cuban pork and it was to die for!!! They only serve the Cuban pork as a sandwich but I think it could be done as a meal with side dishes. We also loved the coconut Bay scallops and the crab cakes. I highly recommend all three and much thanks to Tyler for being so kind to us. On another note, it was a holiday weekend and reservations were needed for table seating so we opted for bar seats, which, turned out to be great because we had the opportunity to see all the delicious food being made so that we know what to order next time.

The clam chowder and the calamari were amazing. They also have a honey white balsamic salad dressing which was delicious.

Excellent service and food. Everything was fresh. You can watch them cooking your food. Not alway easy for us germ-a-phob’s. The kitchen was clean with professional staff.

Great view of the traffic. Service was subpar. Menu was bad enough for us to leave after getting a sugary drink.

Great location with a lot of parking around. This is a cute little Caribbean themed restaurant that’s probably more for family style dining. It’s really bright and colorful. Dessert: Sandbar Blonde Brownie with dulce de lecce, vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream. One word: Amaaaaaaaaaazing! Drinks & Service: Hibiscus Margarita– Oh boy. It might just be my drink only but tone down on the sour mix. I barely tasted anything but the sourness and was left sitting there waiting for the water when we asked for them before we got our drinks. Maybe because we came in at 8ish and they were preoccupied with cleaning up since they closed pretty early around 9pm that they kind of forgot about us.

My husband and I had lunch there today. Thanks to the management for having the patio pet friendly! I ordered fish tacos which were absolutely delicious! I had fish tacos once before in CA and didn’t like them. But, for some reason I decided to give it a try again and I am so glad I did! My husband had crab cakes which he said were amazing! He is a crab cake connoisseur and when he says somethings great, it is great! The desserts were wonderful also: I had the rum cake and my husband had blond brownie. We were happy and stuffed after dessert! lol We had a great time there!

It says something about a place when the quandary on Unilocal is deciding between two stars or three. I settled on three because my BFF says she loves this place. I’ve only been once and I’m on the fence. It’s cute. One big room. A view. Bright colors, seafront cottage chic, the Blue Eyed Crab is a touristy restaurant tucked in amongst touristy restaurants on the waterfront in Plymouth. Metered parking out front, town parking out back, so depending on time of year and the weather, you should have no trouble finding a spot. But the Blue Eyed Crab as a name is kinda misleading, at least to those of us who know that Blue Crab is the utmost in culinary savagery — there’s nothing better than the succulent sweetness of the backfin of the Chesapeake Bay crab. But don’t get your’ hopes up. You’ll be getting none of that here. Food is okay. There’s no blue crab on the menu. Everyone(on Unilocal) raves about the cornbread which is just okay. Is this a theme? The overrating of something just because it’s not what everybody else does? The bread is ordinary. Is there honey in the butter? Not sure. No strong identifiable tastes. I ate because I was hungry. For my entrée, I ordered the pecan crusted … some sort of fish. But what was advertised as «pan seared» — which conjures images of concentrated flavor — turned out to be deep fried. The accoutrements — mashed potatoes and mango purée — were tasty — but, dang, I didn’t expect a fried fish. Drinks are subpar. I ordered a cocktail that was supposed to come with«house marinated cherries,» which makes any aficionado think«Luxardo,» or at least an improvised version, but what I got was a very ordinary drink with two sickly sweet Maraschino cherries out of a jar. I felt defrauded. We were there on a really rainy cold night in May. We had reservations but didn’t ned them. We could have had almost any table in the place. It wasn’t very crowded. Servers and bartender are young and lackadaisical and look as though they’re in Algebra class, waiting for the bell to ring. They had no sense of how to wait a table. We didn’t stay for a second drink. But I’ve seen this place on a hot summer night, hopping and happy. I walked past it then and wondered. Now I’m glad I kept going.

This was really disappointing. Called at 3 to make dinner reservations but they were«booked for the night.» We decided to go for a late lunch and the place was dead. It took 15 minutes for our waitress to come to our table after we were seated. We ordered the charred pineapple mojitos which were delicious but gone in four sips. Check the photos I posted, the glass was full to the top of ice. At $ 9 a drink they weren’t worth it at all. I ordered the coconut bay scallops and the jibarito plantain sandwich. The sandwich was dry, bland, and flavorless. The plantain needed lots of salt and the jerk chicken lacked spice and flavor. The scallops were nothing to write home about either. The pictures are deceiving; they were the size of little marbles. We were very disappointed that they weren’t serving their full menu of dinner options until after 5, but at this point who knows if that would have been worthwhile.

Food was great. Great variety. Excellent service. Had a pleasant time. Disclaimer: it was marathon Monday in plymouth. Could be different on a weekend night. Natalie B was the server.

Wow! I just don’t understand the bad reviews! One caveat-we were here for lunch and it was not busy so I can’t comment on service for a busy night but our experience was great! LOVE the theme… island inspired dishes and cocktails-how can you go wrong!!! We got a bunch of apps. The arincini’s were different with mango pork inside and were amazing! The clam chowder(and I am a huge clam chowder snob) was delicious… I thought at first sight it was a little thick for my taste but it was delicious and seasoned perfectly. We also got the scallops-which were so yummy! We also shared the fish tacos which were excellent. The bartender was awesome and the speciality cocktails are hand made so it can take a bit to get that all out together… all in all, we will def be back!!’

There is no bad here. Fresh seafood is the main draw but other Carib dishes like jerk chicken and pork are good too. Very eclectic menu but small enough so the dishes are well thought out and prepared. Cool tropical décor and lively island vibe, this is a great way to pretend your’re in the islands when its a dreary winter day in Plymouth.

Date of service: June 1, 2015 Meal: Lunch, dine in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 8 Food to Spend Value: 7 Quality of Service: 8 Overall Rating: 8 I was heading to Plymouth for lunch and wanted to try a new place. Plymouth has lots of options that are all over the board rating wise, but Blue Eyed Crab looked promising, so I decided to check it out with my niece and mother in law. The menu features mostly seafood, though you can certainly get non seafood items, with a Tropical /Caribbean theme. This departure from standard seafood fare that you typically find in the Boston area was welcome and provided for an intriguing menu. I did start with more standard fare and had a cup of New England Clam Chowder. It was quite tasty with a good, creamy texture, and it was fairly hearty as well. The complimentary cornbread, which came out as a loaf, with maple butter was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I could have probably eaten a couple of loaves by myself, but then I wouldn’t have had any room for lunch! I decided to split several small plates with my niece. We started with the Stuffed Caribbean Arancini, which was a fun Island flavor take on one of my favorite Italian appetizers. The 2 jumbo fried rice balls were stuffed with guava pork and Gouda cheese, and they came accompanied with a banana jam which initially sounded odd to me but was an amazing combination. The flavors tasted so good together and was a great start to the flight of small plates. The lobster roll came out next. It consisted of their house made lobster salad on a buttered roll and was served with coleslaw, pickles, and fries. The lobster was very good and cooked perfectly, and the roll itself was stuffed full of it. I will admit I have had better lobster rolls, but there was nothing wrong with this one, though I did find it to be a bit pricey. Next we got the Coconut Bay Scallops. They were prepared very similarly to coconut shrimp, with a coconut battering on the outside, and they were served with an orange chile marmalade for dipping. The sweet and spiciness of the marmalade paired very nicely with the scallops, and the scallops themselves were a perfect texture and very flavorful. The last plate was the Lobster and Lump Crab Creole, which came highly recommended from our server. The only way I know how to describe it is… DANG. The flavors melded together and exploded in my mouth as I ate it, and both the lobster and crab was perfectly done and bountiful. It was nothing short of superb and rounded out the small plates nicely. At lunch the restaurant wasn’t super busy, but we were told it is hopping at happy hour and dinner time. The restaurant has a nice looking long bar to sit at as well as a number of tables, so if it were to get busy I could imagine there would be a wait, though we were fortunate to have no wait at lunch. Our waitress was attentive, and the food was fresh and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. It is a bit pricey for a standard lunch, but the quality of the food was amazing, so the prices didn’t seem too bad. If you are looking for a departure from typical New England seafood, you should definitely stop by the Blue Eyed Crab!

The pan seared wasabi crusted yellow fin tuna special needs to be on the menu bc damn. That was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Perfect flavor, perfectly cooked(love it rare) My mom got maple rum glazed salmon on the special list that was cooked perfectly as well. Cannot wait to come back again The only thing I did not like was my bonfire margarita. Very smokey. I thought it’d have enough of a sweet flavor to balance it but way too smokey.
